Pulls decide! Rules:
1. The first 4 star character you get will be the main on one team and the first 5 star - a main on the second team (in the Spiral Abyss)
2. Only use characters you pulled for
- exception: you can use starter characters while doing archon quests

hi an ayato main here. You can actually use skyward sword for ayato since it has a passive that boost normal attack speed which ayato wants to make full use of his skill and with the energy recharge you can keep your burst up time making it so you can have consistent hydro application and buffs normal attack of ayato and other 5 star characters. With being said skyward sword is a good choice if you want to aim to maximize his kit use that is build around his elemental skill but if you want a free to play option then the inazuma craft able sword is your best bet and either 4 piece glad or 4 piece heart of depth will be ayato's best in slot since he will use his elemental skill which acts as a normal attack. Just food for though anyways love your videos keep it up and sorry for posting late ;-; hope this little tip helps you a lot.

I'm having a similar Ayato crisis - he's got so much flexibility in his kit that it's hard to pick out the specific build you want to sink a lot of time into.
For me I say use Yao Yao but you need to pull her first :D
Skyward is actually better than the isshin sword, because of the higher base atk and the passives ayato can use all of the buffs
The skyward series is really weird. The bow (skyward harp) is Crit Rate, the catalyst (skyward atlast) is ATK%, and then all the others are ER. I don't know why they did this, it's weird. If you ever get get Jean or Bennett though, the skyward blade is pretty good.

Ayato main here you can definitely go for skyward.
Cus er is good on him you kinda want to brust every rotation.
Ayato as a character isn't like hyper carry dmg dealer character.
His main sell point is easy to apply element with decent dmg and wide aoe.
And skyward give more attack speed which will make him hit a lot faster.
Er isn't that bad.
sometime i use sac sword on him when i play like hyperbloom or burgeon team lol.
His dmg won't go up that much cus i have c0r1 ayato and he do around 12k-15k and with sac sword it go around 7k-9k tbh it is not that much different like other characters.
So yeah can use skyward if you don't have that much er from artifacts

correct me if i'm wrong but ayato's main damage is normal attacks. so i think you should raise them. 7k is really good with lvl1 though
After ayato use his skill. He get infusion and his infusion dmg skill out of his skill talent level and it is still consider as normal attack

Hi, Kato! I know that it's not likely that you'll read this, but I wanted to write this anyway as a sort-of thank you for inspiring me. I recently started my own spin on a pulls-decide challenge. I'm calling it my Genshinlocke (loosely based on the idea of a Nuzlocke challenge from the pokemon community), and it's been super fun so far, if challenging! These are my rules:
1. I only get 2 characters per region: one 4 star and one 5 star, and they can't be the same element (ex. I can't use Zhongli as my Liyue 5 star even if I pull him, since I already have Ningguang).
2. I can only use characters that I pull: no free characters unless they're are pulled first and abide by rule 1 (ex. my Lynette was fairly pulled as my Fontaine 4 star, so I'm allowed to use her).
3. Traveler can be used as a 5 star wild card as long as I abide by rule 1 (ex. I can't use Geo Traveler since I have Ningguang, Anemo Traveler since I have Diluc, and especially not Dendro Traveler since I have Tighnari).
So right now, I can use:
- Mondstadt: Razor and Diluc
- Liyue: Ningguang
- Sumeru: Tighnari
- Fontaine: Lynette
and my wild card Traveler is currently Hydro (which is a whole other type of suffering, but I'm desperate for reactions)
As you might be able to tell, I'm drowning in on-field DPS. I'm praying for Layla rate up soon!
ngl skyward is better for ayato because normal atk speed plus crit rate and er for burst

I would say, if you Pull her normaly than use her. :) A mistake should not Punish you from Using her Ever. Thats no Fun at all in the Long Run. And thx for the Episode.
Shoudnt you also level normal attack for ayato? Because his e slashes count as normal attack
Btw Kato there is another way to get gladiator, you can get it by defeating any kind of bosses but artifact strongboxes are also good.its your choice what you want to do 😊 btw I love your videos I even made a playlist to this series

this is actually not bad considering you arent using a crit weapon. With a crit weapon your ayato will be complete.
u should craft gladiator instead of echoes for ayato, echoes is only good if you have low ping like under 20, and if u craft gladiator u can get other pieces for other characters too

I recommend you getting +70% Crit Rate on Ayato. Personally, I hate playing him with les than that. He does lots of tiny hits, so failing the critical hit on 50% of them feels truly awful. But you did a really good start! I find Ayato pretty hard to build if you don't have a 5* weapon or the BP weapon, so keep on going making our boy strong!
Ofc you can just use him as hydro applier with some dmg, so then you don't have to worry about him not doing that much dmg. Everything I said was about how to make him do really good dmg, but it is not necessary for new accounts, specially when you can just use Ayato + dendro + Kuki full EM and have a really good team.
f2p advice: strong box is a mistake. you would rather save those shitty artifact as material than gamble your disappointment for... more disappointment.

You know Kato, usually even if character builds are instructives, I find myself full of questions and a little bored by how theoretical everything is. In between them all, your series is a pure GEM. You may not think about it as "guides" sure, but it is such a huge example, motivating me to test my damages and adjust my builds progressively, patiently, take some risks to use my resin and artifacts for good choices, et plan my (re)building just like you! I also test new team comps way more enjoyable than just simple meta thanks to that. My Cyno has been improved a lot thanks to the joy and motivation your series gave me. And he was benched for a couple months before that...
(also I feel your pain so much, in almost 2 years of playing.... I've never had a single crit circlet worth being proud of. Double crits hates my account lmao. It's infuriating! But oh well, I have an on-set VV EM goblet for my Kazuha since my first attempt to get one... My rolling luck all went into Kazuha's, Lyney's and Yelan's artifacts i suppose)

Someone that used to not play a bunch, to upping my time. I'm finding my artifacts are horrible. I can't keep mora to try and upgrade,lvl, my 4chars I use most let alone try for a 2nd team for abyss. I don't think I'm getting most out of my elemental reactions either.

Ayato is the only character that I win my 50/50 on 🥲 since then I invested so much in him. I must say going through a few different sets must be a canon even for Ayato enjoyers, mine went through gladiator, shimenawa, gladiator again and finally marechausse 😭

If I remember it right, she mentioned that the reason why she does not want to pull for miko is because she mains miko (or at least use her a lot) in her other account which is used in perfecting my account episodes. And she wants to try playing other units that she does not have in her other account, that's why. I might remember her words wrong though but I believe my interpretation is right.

I know this is 3 weeks late but, idk if u know this, on the standard banner the 5 star alternates. For example, the next 5 star on standard will be a character because you just got a weapon, and after that it'll be a weapon again
