This is why all elevators should have a user-accessible reset button! These kind of glitches are becoming increasingly common and nobody deserves to wait hours in a stalled elevator over a stupid controller malfunction.
The controller should instead reset on its own after a certain time. A user-accessible reset button would be abused so much that elevators would become useless.

My bad, I unlocked the outer door to look on top of the elevator not knowing that you were in there and that it would refuse to move again.
