Enjoying vintage vids during lockdown! Always figured this to be an ambush style scout/tank destroyer team. Shoot and scoot if you will. Plus leaving the back deck open was a great platform for evacuating casualties from the battlefield. Plenty of room for Doc and Lifeline to work. Plus those rear facing missiles were great for discouraging any pursuers!
I just got the US version of Havoc next to mine EU version. So happy, but I am so sad :( I am missing this kind of reviews from HCC. I hope you will do this fine/perfect videos like this in future I miss this soooo much :) . I wish all the best for you! (I am watching your new live streams when I can) Thanks for all!
It was when GI Joe stated releasing stuff like this when they totally lost me as a fan of the brand. The stuff from the first few seasons of the show which were modeled off real military equipment are still impressive.
I know. The vehicle in the first 2 season was awesome. The new vehicles where stupid looking. And the characters where getting weird to. Like sci fi, quick kick, Cobra La.
A lot of those "death seats" were common in World War 1. That's why I always felt like GI Joe in the 80s was going for World War 1 rather than Vietnam.
I friggin loved the havoc! Was a present for my 11th birthday. I used it as a mobile headquarters with its own air support. Bad ass! I bet Cross Country voted for Trump.
I Agree with your review. The H.A.V.O.C. is one weird Vehicle. It's not a tank, it's not a jeep, it's not even a Bridgelayer. The Neon Orange accessories do nothing for it. I don't know what it is but It's not a military Vehicle. I like your Farm Equipment analogy.
Had this as a kid, loved it but.....I cant stand laying figures down inside a vehicle!! I hated that! Otherwise I loved it, even the death seat up top. Great video
lol I just found the box to this in my G.I. JOE Headquarters box. It's folded, has the file card and points thing cut out but it's in decent shape. Price tag....$12.97
I wonder how anyone got up in the driver's seat? As high as it is, you would need a ladder or something to climb up. But in the cartoon the Joe's could just jump up that high and land in the seat😂
LOL! I hated that guy too!! Everything you said is sooo true. As a little black kid, I recognized everything he was wearing. Zero play value. Why does he keep yelling at Road Block?!! You get your butt in that seat and you stay there!
I had this thing but never cared much for it, thanks largely to the off-the-wall design and exposed gunner seat. I can hand wave the glass canopy as it was listed as "impact resistant" in the blueprints, similar to the "shell resistant" canopy of the beloved HISS tank. Since Hawk was an artillery man, I typically used this as the Joe command vehicle and had it hang back safely in drag where Hawk could give orders from his little command chair and lob shells at the Cobras using the elevated cannons. As much as I disliked the vehicle I managed to find a purpose for it which was nice. While Cross-Country was an ugly figure with a balloon head and weird design choices, I liked the character, having grown up around motorheads like this in the south. In the Sunbow series he pissed off the other Joe's with godawful country music and I loved the time Zarana called him a hillbilly in the comic. He spat back, "I ain't no hillbilly! I'm a redneck and proud of it!"
I didn't like the HAVOC.I wanted to. I tried to. But I just couldn't get past how bad it seemed to me. I couldn't get past the exposed gunner/driver sitting on top of the darn thing. I couldn't get past the operators laying on their stomachs in the cockpit (I had the same problem with the LCV Recon Sled.) Or the fact that almost all the HAVOC's weapons either faced straight front or straight back, leaving the sides unprotected. I'd always have a HISS Tank or STUN come alongside, turn their main guns and start tearing the Joe vehicle apart, with only the luckless passengers in a position to defend it. I eventually gave it to my little brother, who trashed it. But a year later, after seeing the HAVOC heavily featured in season 2 of the cartoon, I bought another. And still hated it. Cross Country didn't help. I hated that pathetic Dukes of Hazard wannabe. I wished that Hasbro had made a new version of Steeler or Cover Girl, both of whom had been discontinued along with their ranks by then. It would have gone a long way towards redeeming the HAVOC in my eyes. Be instead we got this stupid southern stereotype, who would actually get a brand new figure in the 90's, as part of Battle Corps. Ugh. Good review though. The hover car was the coolest part of it.
I think that your track plates are reversed, the tabs should not come out like that. to think that I actually bought this.... oufffff! I practically never used it, it was so bizarre, and useless! I never really liked it then, and today... I think that it s a piece of crap!!! Hasbro should have made an half track instead. the guy up there can be taken out by just plain rain, or rocks and dust from a distant blast! whowever green lighted this should be lynched! I get angry just looking at this farce.... just look at your views and comments, nobody wants anything to do with this... thing. sometimes, it takes courage to do reviews, good work Commander!

This is my first Gi Joe and vehicle.
I'm sorry.
That seat makes cross-country an easy target for snipers...😂😂😂

The title of "Death Seat" is completely appropriate.
I have the HAVOC II and the newer CROSS COUNTRY figure (with rebel flag on back of his jacket)
Chris Mayer the confederate flag was way more obvious on v2 of cross country it on his back
You seem like a happy fellow.

Another great review! I owned the Cross-Country as a kid, but not the H.A.V.O.C. vehicle. Cross-Country was not even a middle tier figure to me.
Always hated this thing and Cross Country. This is when GI Joe started to lose its way.
That havoc needs to be customize

The hovercraft is definitely the best part of the havoc.

Cross country reminds me of the refinery people on the Road Warrior

The HAVOK is very loosely based on tracked and articulated BV 206: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandvagn_206

This guy should have been in Tiger Force !!!
I could never get my tread plates to stay no matter which way I would put them on.
It reminds me of a dump truck

Wat about RECONDO!! Or did u decide to wait for the variants after all! 🖒🖒

HCC is awesome but where the heck has formbx been?
HAVOC was a neat and fun vehicle but Cross-Country like Quick Kick were always Cobra cannon fodder. Hated everything about that character.
Cobra lost to these scrubs ???
I always thought Cross Country was one of the ugliest GI Joes ever made. His face just looks huge and malproportioned.
Brian Fitzgerald Looking back, he reminds me of Eugene from The Walking Dead.
I think that your track plates are reversed, the tabs should not come out like that.

You don't like it anymore? How often do you play with it?
@@kennethmalone4689 I had to sell it all in 2011 in a rough patch of life.
