I never get tired of contemporary Christian music and these two people were definitely the answer for me.
Every time I think of this night, I just smile. It was my first Amy Grant and MWS concert and i hope it won't be my last. I'm 16, and I'm absolutely in love with Amy's music. She has such a down to earth, chill air about her & her music.
I never get tired of hearing these two people's music. They introduced me to Contemporary Christian music MANY years ago and it still moves me. Their music has brought me through some very rough times in my life. You can really tell they love The Lord and each other as friends! Thank you for posting!

beautiful music i was 17and 18 yrs old. back 1984 i suggested his song "friends "too be sang for my high school graduation in may1985 and ibeen down too a oldtimey tennesse fleamarket And even talkedwith somepeople whom knew michael w.smith so believe meeting them was verymuch god sent
Still watching this in 2018.... Saw them with both of my parents during the tour at the Ryman in Nashville. Can't believe my dad has been gone for 5 years :/ Glad to have taken him on one more adventure...
And a year later, here we are watching it again :)

Seriously, how do people sit through these songs?! I saw this show in Michigan and was amazed at everyone sitting down. Y'all, we're older but we're not dead!

I was at the very first tour that MWS accompanied Amy on back in 1982/1983. I was just a 'kid' back then! These songs are great reminders of days gone by, relationships and loves found and lost, and how they have been the soundtrack, the backdrop to all of those years! Thank you for letting me go down memory lane, with two of my musical heroes.

These 2 are Awesome! My first christian music artists I listen too when I got saved in the 80's, Amy was the first one I saw in concert, still love her and Michael's music. Still moves me when I hear it!

I grew up listening to mostly Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith. I didn't realize they were friends.
Before Michael was a solo artist, he was the piano player in Amy's band.

I saw them in Virginia, they were wonderful. Michael was sick, made us moms want to take care of him.

I've seen Amy Grant in concert 6 times since 1986 in Jacksonville, FL...the last time was a few months ago (2016) in St Augustine, FL. I've yet to meet her. I was told the meet & greet the last time I saw her in St. Augustine was AFTER the concert. I was broken-hearted to find out that it was BEFORE the concert. I spent the extra money for the meet & greet, but wasn't able to get a couple of albums signed and a picture of me with Amy. I'm 62 yrs old and had a heart attack in September and don't know if I will be here on earth the n the next time she comes to my part of the country. I PRAY the next time she comes to either Jacksonville or St. Augustine FL, that first of all I'm still alive and secondly, that I'll be able to do the meet and greet!!!! I was a worship leader in the church I was going to in the 80's and I ALWAYS sang Amy Grant songs during the collection of tithes & offerings and my pastor used to say, "Anna Gay is our very own Amy Grant." It blessed my socks off...LOL. 🎤 🎶 🎼 ✝

I feel the same way, and it was my first too, hopefully not the last one. I've grown up with their music, especially Michael's, listening to it since I was at the age of 5. Those two together are really amazing!

Thank you for putting this up!! I love Amy and Smitty but I've never been to one of their concerts because its usually $50 for one ticket. Hopefully they'll come around here again and do another 2 Friends tour and it will be cheaper!

Incredible video and sound. Glad to see there are some Amy Grant fans in Norway. I've been there a couple of times, but have to admit that I didn't do to any Norwegian pop concerts!

Wow! Thanks for uploading this. They are my favourite artists even during my college days ( mid 80s). Smitty's youth choir version of Stubborn Love was once an anthem in our youth camps in the Philippines way back then. Those were the days of cassette tapes from where I first heard their songs. :-). Awesome duo. God bless them.

Wow you were lucky! Last time I went to see a MWS concert, I had a guy behind me that sang along to every song. The problem was he was very loud and totally flat...ruined it for me. I wasn't trying to video tape, but I couldn't even enjoy the concert because of this guy.

thank you! And I am SOOO glad Michael didn't "turn on her" - I know nothing of Chapman but I have a weirdo sense about him.
MWS is quality. He would never have turned on a friend. There just always seemed to be something seriously wrong with Chapman. I've never seen a video clip of him where he acts like a professional musician and, well, like a normal adult man. His "humor" always had a bitter and chip-on-the-shoulder feel about it. The one time I saw her live, the few interactions between the two of them were so strained and strange, and she seemed intensely unhappy under a bubbly facade. Of course that was in the 80s when apparently his drug use was at its worst. He was just not on her level, either musically or personally, and I think he didn't have the self-confidence and humility handle it like a man. When she finally met a man whose humility, gentleness, and self-confidence matched his musical genius, it must have brought her long-standing marital misery into sharp focus. With Vince Gill, she could relax and be herself--no way she could upstage him!

About 15 maybe 20 years ago, Amy Grant along with Michael W. Smith and many other christian artists came together and sang a song similar to "We are the World" where each artist sang one line in the song and everyone sang the chorus. It got a lot of play on the radio for a few months but I've not heard it since. Does anybody remember the name of that song?
'Do Something Now' was the title I think
Richard McBride Yes, it was Do Something Now by The C.A.U.S.E. (Christian Artists United to Save the Earth). I still have my 12" vinyl maxi-single of it! It's on one of the Steve Camp compilation CDs. I believe he may have written the song.
