I played this in high school, I was a flautist and I actually also played the oboe solos on the piccolo. it's a beautiful piece and very fun to play

What instrument are the people behind the French horns playing? I thought it was a trumpet at first but it doesn’t look like it anymore

@@anibuffo not at all. There are no Flugelhorns in this piece. They're Trumpets.

@@anibuffo No, sorry to disappoint you, but those are Trumpets with rotary valves. Very common in German speaking lands. Look at the clearly cylindrical tube of the instruments, flugelhorns would be more conical..

​@@anibuffo Nein, ich glaub dir nicht. Die Mensur am Trichter sieht viel zu flach aus, das Rohr an der Biegung noch viel zu eng, die Trichtermündung zu Steil für ein Konzertflügelhorn. Vor allem für das YFH-436G.
Aber ich kann den Toni Scholl ja in Ossiach mal fragen..
