My favorite songs by N.A & V.S. (Solid and Send It) + Many More My favorite song that they Composed for Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell is (Your Precious Love)
The Send It LP is a pure slice of 70's R&B!! It was on constant rotation on my turntable...one of my favorites It Seems To Hang On. When Nick died, Valerie said it was also the death of Ashford & Simpson, she lost her husband and musical partner...
That was great yes please an individual video for both would be nice so we can know their history before they got together. The songs they wrote for Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrell are my fav . They transmitted their love in those songs. Powerful lyrics . Thanks
They were an awesome team. Glad they enjoyed their talent. My favorite songs are Solid and Is It Still Good To You. Thanks for not letting us forget how tough they were.
The talented songwriting and producing team of Nick Ashford and Valerie Simpson. Send It, It Seems To Hang On, Is It Still Good To You, Street Corner, Solid as well as the fabulous tunes they wrote for Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell were some of my favorites by them. Thanks for sharing their story. Yes, seeing videos on these two would be awesome.
The first Ashford and Simpson song I knew was Don't Cost You Nothing around 1977/1978. It was so funky I became an instant fan. At that time I didn't know they were legendary Motown songwriters or anything like that. Then other songs like Found A Cure, Solid, Street Corner followed. Great, great music.
I still have the 45 single of the song (Silly wasn't I) by Valerie Simpson when she was solo in my old record collection. It just brings back so many memories of my party days
Ashford & Simpson , was definitely being played in my home, when I was growing up. They were one of the best writing team, in my opinion. They could sing and write, my mother had all of their records. I remember every song you played. Awe Mann, this video will be put on one of my favorites videos from you, 👏 May Ashford be Resting In Peace
It Seems To Hang On! Keep It Coming! Don't Cost You Nothing! Drink The Wine! By Way Of Love's Express! Bougie Bougie! Send It! Found A Cure! ect! (Trust me, I could have kept going!) I love Ashford & Simpson! The Send It, Is It Still Good To Ya, and Found A Cure albums were in heavy rotation in my house! I forgot to mention Crazy! That was a hot one too!
Ashford and Simpson are legendary song writers, producers, and performers. My favorite song that they wrote is for Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell: "Ain't No Mountain High Enough". And my personal favorite song that they did as a duo is "Solid".

Letting Ashford and Simpson go from Motown was one of the dumbest moves since letting the Jackson Five go to sign with CBS(Sony).
I'm Every Woman for Chaka
