I think it is not the right question. I would rather focus on the growth roadmap for data analytics and data science. As we evolve in this field, the lines get blurred. People are struggling to choose functional domain expertise vs business domain. Hence, we are losing people with expertise and intellect who can guide and mentor folks in the data and analytics field.

Hey brother, I need a little guidance. I have been preparing for data science role for an year now. I am still far from being good in it. I have certainly improved my data analysis skills. I landed a job as data analyst two months back. The issue is, this job is more like a data entry thing, I have created few python scripts to automate some of my tasks. Now for future, few people are suggesting me to prepare for developer roles instead of data based roles due to less opportunities. I am confused, should I pivot towards development role or study data engineering maybe

Yes, your background doesn't matter. But you must have the right skills & robust profile. That's what we discussed in this video. Will add more tips & hacks to build a robust profile in my upcoming videos.

You want a non-diplomatic answer? No! It's not that straightforward. There are ways like joining a company in India, becoming a manager & coming to US through on-site (L1 visa). But it's very rare. Unfortunately, I think Masters is the most easiest & expensive path.
