I came upon my Grandfathers military records about a year ago, Get this...He had his mother's blessing, during WW ONE! he faked his age, he was 16 and she signed off on it. I cannot imagine, as I have a young"er" son. I can't imagine how horrible life must have been then to do such a thing. So, I have been working on genealogy records for my own grandchildren. So much is lost when we pass. I knew my beloved grandfather's military story, "kinda". I finally found his "discharge" notice. It read "SHELL SHOCK". I am still trying to discover where they sent a 16 year old boy to fight. Like many, he never spoke of it. Oddly, my own father had the most vivid recollection of war being declared, WWII. By then (grandfather) was in his 40's and had to explain to my father, as he was shaving, and as lil boy's often watch that ritual, and the radio said war had been declared... ( my dad was a rather late in life surprise baby) that even at his age, it is bad, and he may have to enlist, and he would be there to do it, if need be. I can safely say, no one knew of his "shell shock" as a teen boy in WWII. I am now his only Grandchild, a granddaughter. I have served (long ago) as a first responder. Finding his papers listing "shell shock" has given me an energy to do SOMETHING, anything, I don't care how big or small. I am on a mission now, to honor my family. One family member has served in every war since the revolution. I'm not sure where I will find myself to give, but please know, in your heart and my grandad's, your soul had a special place along ours. If you, or anyone else has ideas for the perfect volunteer idea, please remember my grandad and let me know where he might have thought I should serve. He was an awesome guy! And a true comic. We miss him! Get this,,,he was born in 1898! Top that one! LOL
Yes trump was the one who brought them all home, he’s the only president that stopped wars rather than make them, even though main stream media paint him out to be the bad guy.
For me this is one of the best shows you have put out, as a combat veteran I feel for Peter, a combat medic is arguably one of the most selfless and difficult jobs in the military, your brain can never erase most things. I wish him all the luck and respect and love❤
I'm a victim of child abuse. I find it really hard to sympathize with veterans. I'm working on it, but I don't know if it'll ever change. Jim seemed like he was really trying. Peter just didn't seem like a good person.
It is amazing to see a native descendant help heal others after all the harm our country has done to their ancestors. I think our native brothers and sisters are the answer to all of our modern ills like climate change.
Every vet just need to remember, you're never alone. There's always someone willing to listen. If you can't find someone to talk to come find me. I have struggled before and thankfully have friends that listen.

My husband and i went to a retreat modeled after Angel Fire, called Veterans freedom retreat. The whole retreat is such a healing process. And as a wife (15 years of which he was active duty, multiple combat deployments), the purple heart ceremony was so healing to MY soul

Many people that I know have PTSD the ppl I talk to most times say at war they had to do horrible things that in a way hunts them and always feel paranoid I think in war nobody wins most army people end up mentally ill.
As a father of a soldier with PTSD. I've seen first hand many times his suffering. Numerous trips to the VA. All the is done is trying to force drugs on them. There is no one who ever wants to talk. Therapists would rather just hang out drugs.
While some may still see it as drugs I strongly recommend 5 meo dmt otherwise known as the toad ceremony. It is a short lived, deeply profound and spiritual experience, with amazing results for PTSD sufferers. There is plenty of information online that I urge you to read up on. Time Stamp 9:23, yes Peter is wearing Marine Corps Charlies, but you can clearly see Navy E3 rank insignia on his left sleeve. Time stamp 9:35, you can clearly see US Navy on Peter's uniform, and the Hospital Corps collar device. At time stamp 10,:10, Lisa says Peter was a former Marine. At time stamp 11:44, you can see a picture of Peter in his Navy Dress Blues. All of this means that Peter was not a Marine, he was a US Navy Corpsman who was stationed with Marines. The reason he wore Marine Corps Charlies is because he went Marine Corps Regs.

Yes, I’ve had it for more than fifty years. VA offered me 100% disability forty four years ago, I didn’t take it. PTSD has never been treated.
OK, I will say it, as a military family member. Please vote for a leader, not someone leading us into another war.

Love this, only thing I would add is that women are the largest growing sector of Veterans. Therefore, it is not just men who go to war.

The feelings are very similar to the ones of children who experienced repeated childhood sexual and physical abuse.

Navy Corpsman work for the Marines, I spent my whole time with the Marine Cirps, we get to use the all Marine Corps uniforms except their dress blues.
