Yellowstone bison charges and chases motorcyclist before tense stand off

We encounter a close moment with a very angry Yellowstone Bison that charges and then chases a motorcyclist in our group before standing his ground in the middle of the road with nowhere for us to go with a rock wall on one side and a steep drop off to a river below on the other side while riding on the northern side of the Grand loop road in Yellowstone National Park
Charged and chased? Looked more like finally wandered off to me.
I live/work/play in Yellowstone during the summer, one thing I have noticed is that Bison do not like LOUD sounds, like the sound of a bike. They react to the sound as a threat, as if, You want to fight, I will fight you.
He sure did and oon on the moutain apss there wasnt much room. Luckily he decided to enjoy his day and not fight
Bikes sound different...that first one scared the big bull...but it went on...he was curious about the other one.
That's one big boy, he's like this is my land not yours.
Back in 1970 I saw a bison double that size at an animal farm, a tourist spot in Lake Placid , NY. The thing was massive, and my folks had them nearby in Wyoming where they lived, but I’ve only seen one giant.

Yeah, I'd be annoyed too if a bunch of noisy ditch pumps came down my street. Adventure? Riding through a national park, making lots of noise?
He sure was annoyed, we were on standrad bikes. Imagine what he wouldnt been like with the loud exhaust bikes.
After seeing the other motorcyclists being charged and chased by the bison, don't you think the biker should have just turned the bike off and stayed quiet? I bet he hoped he packed enough underware.
lol, we did shut down the engines, we just didnt know what he was going to do
@ourmidlifeadventures I'm glad you did nothing to scare them. Like I said before, the ones we saw were massive. Even in the safety of a car, we were afraid something would happen.
Total click bait on the title, there is no chase or charge at all, not even 5 seconds. But, I don’t get why the motorcycles don’t back up to give the bison space.

Have you ever tried reversing on a harley going down hill, thats omething im not strong enough to do and yes we did shut down the engines to help let the bison settle. It was an experience.
