    I think people are vastly underestimating both Bournemouth & Iraola. Andoni inherited this team and has made some quite substantial changes in terms of his starting 11, and even the playing positions of players like Cook & Christie who have been the engine room of this resurgence in form. Over the past 7-8 games bar the city game, Bournemouth have absolutely controlled each and every game and expertly manipulated teams like United & Newcastle.
    The entitlement from United fans is palpable, they still think its 1999.

    I noticed how the high pressure was similar to what Ten Hag did in Ajax (and has tried to do in United), BUT Bournemount also has a backup plan (a well-oiled transition to sitting deep) which Ten Hag doesn't and has lead to numerous goals and disasters like that 7-0 vs Liverpool. It's high press or nothing for him. Hopefully he learns something from this match.

    • @soccerlung
      @soccerlung 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Ten Hag is the coach who is addicted to his preferred (risky) playing style, without analysizing his players' capabilities and knowledge, balancing the dressing room's atmosphere, and encouraging his players to grow. He definitely is not the one who can manage the big club like MU.

    • @azza6463
      @azza6463 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      @@soccerlungNo he has definitely changed what he originally planned to do with the club, he is being a lot more conservative with the current squad in terms of risk taking while still working on the counter-attacking play style. With the main team the risk factor will be a lot more obvious since he knows they will be more capable of that style of play, this is why he has bought the players he has. It is just unfortunate a lot of them are injured. This is not really an excuse though, the second team should still be a very solid team; we currently just lack more solid defenders that suit the style of play and our attackers need to be a lot more effective; they are getting plenty of shots but are not where near concise enough with them!

    Bournemout beat United because United have no presence in Zone 14 meaning they can't maintain attacking pressure while changing between angles of attack. That makes them very easy to defend against. If they try to force the issue they tend to lose the ball leading to counters. They generally get more and more frustrated and desperate as time goes on, especially when they are chasing a game, and they open up at the back. Simple.

    You’ve got Solanke who is twice the player Martial is. You’ve got Kluivert who is a better player than Fernandes and you’ve got two Bournemouth wingers who work harder than the other two Utd wingers. It’s not rocket science lads! 😅 🚀

    Crazy how lots of TH-cam analysts were raving about McTominay because he scored a few goals, but other managers want to force the ball to him because he's so bad on the ball and is by far the weakest link. lmao Take him out and play Mainoo or Hannibal instead, and it'll make the team function much better (albeit with a few less goals, possibly).

    I haven’t even watched the video but United couldn’t break the Bournemouth press from midfield and made us go long to Martial. What United should have done was get rid of McTominay who was playing high hoping for a turnover and play Mainoo along side Amrabat to break the press and get Bruno in behind the midfield. Shaw should have started left back and Varane would have dealt with Solanke who was bullying Shaw for fun.
    Not difficult.

  • @paingainmayn

    I can't think of a single "real" opportunity United had. These so-called chances are low percentage. Compare it to Chelsea who just seem to miss sitters every game. There needs to be a video on why United score so few goals. Whatever we are doing is resulting in low percentage chances compared to other teams. Is it Bruno spamming low percentage through balls which count as a chance but isn't really? Looks good on Bruno's stats but doesn't stack up in reality and actually translate to goals.

    Ten hag is too stubborn to change his useless tactic of solo DM with 2 very advanced midfielders. Even the most elite DM would struggle in his system. Simple fix is inverting a fullback into midfield to keep Bruno and mctominay high. 3 - 2 shape instead of the 4 - 1 shape currently being used. Leaving us Massively vulnerable on the counter which has been evident when teams cut through the midfield.

    • @rdxsy

      I saw Shaw earlier in the season and Dalot recently often inverting into the midfield. Is it probably less tactics and more players not knowing how/when to do it?

    They hoofed the ball out for United goal kicks at every opportunity so they could match up when Onana was restarting. For United it was embarrassing and again shows how tactically immature United’s midfield is in play.

    Are we ever going to see a team that essentially ices the puck on purpose? Become really good at pressing from an opposition goal kick as your attack, when you do have the ball deep just boot it out for that GK rather than do the difficult build up phase yourself.
