Do not forget about Randy Piper, what a fantastic player. Find a live version when Randy Piper was in the band, watch he and Chris trade solos - fuckin' stellar.
No shit, I live Holmes's playin on this but Blackie isn't a lead player he has no one to really play off of, Holmes and Piper had good chemistry as players and fed off the other one very well, hes basically playing a 2 guy solo alone, but he kills it tho
@kristoferbatdorf2873 Blackie should have just stuck to bass and vocals. Like you said hes not a lead player but Chris and Randy were. But I did love Johnny Rod in WASP! he played bass 10 times better than Blackie did.
WASP fan for life. Their debut album is my fav debut from any band in the 1980’s. Great performance as the memories come rushing back. Young without a care in the world. Damn I miss the 80’s!

most underrated band of the 80s, should have been the top 5, listening to them in 86 as a 14yr old I was crying seeing wasp 2 yrs ago, my childhood on stage still sounding the same
Pretty fucking amazing..... very underrated band and lead guitarist....Sleeping has one of my favorite guitar solos of all time, right up there with Fade to Black and Mr Crowley

cool. I'll check out your site. just started getting into and respecting the 80's metal and solos. WASP is new to me and Holmes seems pretty bad ass! I like the way he plays.
Oh God, it’s amazing song this voice, drums and guitar are awesome. I’m 17 years old and I love rock and heavy metal. It’s music of gods. Hello from Ukraine
Can we fu@#$% agree that this is one of most beautiful and visceral solos in the history of heavy metal?
The one that's on the record by Randy Piper YES!
It was great! 😎👍
F**k yea..😁👍👍
One of best,I'm WASP fan but also is still another yet, Malmsteen,Buckethead...
definitely
I don't see a man playing a guitar. I see a man hugging the love of his life and he's obssessed with it
I don't feel Chris gets as much plodits as he truly deserves he can bring an axe to life the man is God
This was Chris Holmes "Comfortly numb" moment. Legend
You're bang on the money. Such underated greatness. That solo is a up there with any of the best of the '80's
I like how he puts the strap around the point of the V so it raisesit up a bit for better solo position
one of the greatest guitar-solos ever written...
Certainly, the best shot
Cris Holmes was killing it at this show but this solo is probably one of the best live solos period.
Да, моя из любимых песен
Chris was sober for a change.
F’n awesome!
Absolutely pure pleasure every time I here the 🎸 solo for the last thirty five years no one can replicate it.
Totally agree with you .

You're talking about the 84 concert at the Lyceum theatre on London. That was a epic concert. Pure raw energy.
Is there an example?
Live At Lycerne 1984 concert

Blackie, Chris
Two legends of Rock
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Never realized how talented Chris is/was until watching this video. What an INCREDIBLE solo. Holy shit was that good.
C,H, BEST,,,,!
One of the worst guitarist ever. Drummer and Blackie struggling so hard at the beggining to keep the song going becouse of hes terribe timing
He has tone and style... He isn't a technical type though... I mean not technical at all...
Holmes is the best, same rig since '82
Funny since this is 1 of his bad solos on sleeping in the fire, his solo on the live in the raw was the best
Chris Holmes rocks! Love his guitar solo.
W.A.S.P. forever!
One of the best guitar solos ever and I've been playing guitar for 30 years !
There’s many great guitar solos the best one is according to taste. But this is excellent keep up the good work on your guitar work

Chris Holmes is fucking wild, simple...So underrated...
Avalokita I loved Chris when he was in WASP, like said, he was a wild man on and offstage. I was sad when he left WASP.
Damn, I love Chris’s guitar tone!
Such A RAW sound.... Aahhhhh!!!!!
Aye, they were good.
The best version to date...fucking sick version..guitar solo probably the best to date..incredible
What a show
Please god, give me the ability to play guitar like that.

This was THE solo I started with. And Chris plays it different every time. And every time, its "that's a cool version."
Wow what a unique well written solo up with the randy rhoads and hendrix
this is whats great about a live performance. No lip sync or recorded tracks. All raw mistakes and all.
Funny. This track has a backing track that goes off the rails for the world to see.
What a great guitarist Chris Holmes it hurts that he is no longer in W.A.S.P he misses him
Chris Holmes killed it on the solo... Great job.. Keep rocking on
