Thanks, I am glad that you like it. Drill sizes...I don't remember from the top of my head, but as you will see here: th-cam.com/video/QSPA5WkZ0Fs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OQzDFsfoxAiy_Pm1&t=130, I am trying my drills in the two different hole sizes. Then, I make sure that I don't pick the wrong drill.
Im installing a similar vent hood from another brand and thank god for your video because it came with only electrical and utilisation manuals! I was so lost on how to actually put the hood insinde my cabinet!
This is also how you can install one of these in a 40IN cabinet, which for some bizarre reason IKEA does not offer for the vent hoods. I am doing that in my new kitchen. I love your channel - I have learned so much, even though this will be my third IKEA kitchen!
Thanks for posting this - I was going round in circles deciding which extractor to pick after my fitter said it would be a lot easier if I ordered an IKEA supplied one for my pending IKEA kitchen install. I wanted to order an AEG hood to match my other appliances; it turns out this hood is in fact a variation of the AEG DPB3632S (Electrolux also offer a variation of this hood). Happy to go with this, especially after the poor reviews of IKEA's other hoods.
I cannot recommend a specific model as I rarely install those. I suggest that you visit a appliance dealer and check out the various models. Pay attention to noise level and remember the an increase of 10 dB is doubling up the noise.
Hi, great video visually describing all the steps to install it! Thank you. I live in a studio apartment (40 sq/m) and my tiny kitchen is open. It doesn't have a smell and smoke extractor set up, just a plug close to the stove. Will this IKEA model work with just a filter and ventilation? (Sorry if I am not using the right English terms). If not, any other model you suggest I could use for my kitchen? My entire studio apartment smells for days after cooking. Thank you!
I am glad to hear that you find it helpful. This very model cannot be setup for recirculating, but if you visit an appliance store (or Google vent hood with charcoal filter) I am certain you will find something which will work in your space.
Hi, may I ask if the extractor plugs into a socket, or will I need to do additional wiring for it? My current kitchen does not have an extractor installed, and there is no existing wiring for it in the wall; only a socket is available. Thank you!
@@kitchensbyrannes So, you mean the one you are recommending and installed in your video is the Utdragbar, and it has a plug that can easily be connected to a socket. Is my understanding correct?
Hi Rannes, thank you for the educational video! I'm redoing the kitchen in my Copenhagen apartment but I need a vent hood without a motor which is suitable for a central ventilation system. Do you have any recommendation? I would be getting the Metod cabinet and would like something like the 'Underverk' hood from Ikea ideally. I learned from your video that hoods come with a filler piece as I was stuck trying to find a hood matching exactly the cabinet side before :-) Thanks again!
Hi. I am installing an Ikea kitchen for the first time and have the same hood. I have finish panels on either side and the stove opening below also has finish panels. Opening for stove is 30". My stove is 30". How can I get about a 1/2" clearance for the stove? Thx
Thank you for your question. Well, you mush push the adjacent cabinets a bit. It that isn't possible, don't add the panels next to the stove. I rarely add those. Ikea love's to sell panels put in my opinion, it is not worth spending money on panels you hardly see.
I cannot say, as I don't know for sure ☺️ My guess would be either Whirlpool or Electrolux as these companies are primary suppliers of appliances for Ikea.
As an absolute novice, I'm unclear about the modifications you did on the cabinet. In Australia they only sell the cabinets you need to modify, so im a bit stuck
I'm not certain which cabinets are available on the various markets but here in Canada, we have a cabinet specifically made for those built-in vent hoods. You can see it in this document. www.ikea.com/ca/en/assembly_instructions/utdragbar-under-cabinet-range-hood-stainless-steel__AA-2194837-4-1.pdf
The only problem with these pull-out vents is that they're extremely hard to clean when dust+grease starts forming. I'd recommend a non pullout one, but not from IKEA.
Fantastic description of steps with visual aids. 👍👏
Thanks. Visual aids are my secret weapon for making boring steps look exciting!
Hi, nice video. Quick question about the cabinet modification. What size of the holes are there for the wooden pegs and the cam lock screw? Thanks

What brand and model is compatible?
If you mean other brands and models, I don't know.
The one I'm installing in the video is from Ikea and is called Utdragbar.

All the best with your project 👍

Thanks for adding the information about AEG. A well-known brand in Europe. Aus Erfarung Gut 😊
Is there a non vented hood you recommend? Using just filters. My kitchen does not have a flue. Thanks

You can get a range hood with more than double its CMF and advanced features such as gesture and remote control for about 60% of its price.
Thanks for sharing 😊

I think so too ☺️

The built-in vent hoods from Ikea needs to be hardwired for the US and Canada. I'm not sure if other regions are the same.
@@kitchensbyrannes Thank you so much for your prompt reply, very helpful 👍👍

Actually, one if the Two built-in vent hoods is with a plug (Utdragbar) and the other one is for hardwiring.

@xiaoqianzhang6334 Yes, correct 💯
Hi I have a question how far dose the cabinet sit from the wall when hooked on the rail?
The cabinet likes to stay just far enough from the wall to avoid any awkward conversations with the paint 😝.....which is about 3/8" of an inch 🤓

Snakker vi dansk så?
If Ikea has a hood you like, how about removing the motor and use it as a hood/funnel only?
