  • After receiving the new Vintage Collection Lobot VC223 and Lando Calrissian VC205 figures I decided to go back and improve my Empire Strikes Back Carbon Freezing Room Diorama. After a trip to the dollar store, some lights from Amazon and a dig through my pile of toy scraps, I’m ready to show off my new setup!
    This video tutorial is a step-by-step/do it yourself guide to enhancing and upgrading the Hasbro Carbon Freezing Chamber Playset to a sweet looking Diorama that looks as though it was pulled right from the movie.

    What you are doing takes a lot of imagination but still seems so manageable. I am 100% going to do some of this. Projects like this seem so impossible to me until I see someone break it down like this, so thanks and keep going!

    I like replacing the legs with wooden dowels because you have those on hand, but I also like the aesthetics of the plastic legs. Could you fill in the hollow legs with an expanding poly glue or epoxy for more strength?

    • @noskillcustoms
      @noskillcustoms  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, the plastic legs do look cool…they’re solid plastic, so no need for epoxy or anything-they’re sturdy. The only reason I replaced them with wood dowels is because with the cardboard wrap I made they wouldn’t be visible anymore. I figured since the plastic legs looked cool I could use them elsewhere (where they’d be seen) and just replace them with wood.

    Great work looks better than the original Hasbro half a platform and the stairs to nowhere ...you've actually brought a dead playset to life ...but truthfully the fact Hasbro had people paying £59.99 for 1 half and basically forced customers in to spending another £59.99 to get the full experience and after paying £120.00 for both half its technically just half a playset because we as customers either have to put up and shut up or make our own bits like you have like I have and like many others have ...but what annoys me is the principle of everything..with the money a multi million dollar corporation like Hasbro has that they would have made the top of the freezing chamber too ...they could have if they'd wanted too but ...I don't know why they do these things ...just like the crowd funding thing they do they can afford to make sail barges..razor crests ETC put them on retail so everyone can enjoy getting them and people don't miss out ..I'm not a Hasbro Hater ..totally opposite ..but sometimes I wish they would go out all the way with some things customers want instead of making playset unfinished and leaving us to make the rest up yourselfs just cause they have money and the meens to create things ..they just choose not too sometimes ...Hasbro have made some brilliant stuff ..I'm thankful when they do but I feel sometimes that they could do better and give us our moneys worth instead of over charging for half a playset

      We are definitely in a new era of Hasbro…I don’t know if you around when Hasbro made their “ultimate” Hoth and Endor Battle Packs. They were the perfect balance of mold reuse and new features and they were a bargain without having to go on clearance. It used to be that a multipack was cheaper than buying the figures inside individually. Even more frustrating is the Emperor with throne room- $50 and you get a window, chair and wacky cardboard backdrop!?

    • @kore-b.d.p4332
      @kore-b.d.p4332 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@noskillcustoms yeah I agree .. I got that too it was detailed and good but at the same time all you got is a plastic throne ..the emperor and the window ..us as collectors paid £59.99 For basically 3 plastic items ...looked great in the box but soon as you set it up it's just pure bare through the window frame and around the throne not trying to come across as a complainer but they could've done better for the price the throne room cost don't know why they even called it a room lol

    • @noskillcustoms
      @noskillcustoms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree! This set would have been way better as a HasLab! I think they struggled figuring out how to elevate all the stuff hanging down from above and ultimately just gave up.

    ☝🏽😂YOU EVER PUT STAR WARS ACTION FIGURES IN U'r FREEZER? LUKE SKYWALKER TAUNTON, SNOW BEAST OR FREEZE HAN SOLO IN A CUP OF WATER IN THE FREEZER & MAMA GOES, ""WHAT'S ALL THIS?""😂

    • @noskillcustoms
      @noskillcustoms  ปีที่แล้ว

      When I was young I tried getting Luke to hang upside down without success. Much later in life for my son’s birthday I took a bunch of extra Han Solo figures and froze them in Action figure bubbles and the kids had to use warm water and a spoon to get him out!

      He truly is one of the best figures Hasbro has ever made, but WOW did they ever overestimate the demand for him! (Still not as bad as Island Rey, though).
