What you need for completion:
- 1X Objective Lens (40mm Diameter, 450mm Focal length)
- 2X Eyepiece (15mm Diameter, 15mm Focal Length)

- 2x Push Fit Couplings, 40mm Diameter

Use a Tripod for the best result, and NEVER look into the SUN!

Because you can't see it through a camera.
Soumil Sahu you absolutely can. If you can’t see it thru the camera, you can’t thru the scope either.
@@ekaterinakashapova1 what I meant was that there won't be enough light coming into the camera for it to give enough exposure to the image.

It is the 7th time I watch your video , I realize the pvc pipes and other fittings cost aproximately $ 10 dollars in home depot Miami,fl , the flat black cardboard $ 1 dollar + glue and others about $ 5 dollars. In other words if I wanted to copycat your design I should be ready to spend more than $ 20 dollars without counting your creativity of designing the cell which holds the oculars and I could not have done It better myself that I am in the "business" of building optical devices of all sorts for as long as 63 years. Probably I'll watch your video many more times because I really enjoy your impeccability and NEATNESS. Kudos for you Sir one more time !

You have to show us the moon through the telescope, so we can know if the telescope works. Why we have to make it if we dont even know does the telescope work or not?, Thats the point of making this kind of video
I mean you can just use common knowledge of how telescopes work. And also that tube can't be any length you need to be really precice with making a telescope

I have a lot of spare time for the next couple weeks and wanted to try to make my own DIY telescope for stargazing and moon watching etc. Would this telescope be powerful enough to look at the moon and maybe Jupiter? I read that Jupiter will be close enough to observe with just your eye so maybe a simple telescope would get a better look. Any thoughts?

Hi, thank you for the video. After I watched it I bought the kit immediately but I need your help. I followed the instructions but I don't know why it doesn't work after assembling everything.
Maybe I did something wrong. Probably it is a mutter of distance between the lenses as I didn't find exactly the same dimensions in Tunisia and I was obliged to find another solution but I'm pretty sure I followed exactly the rest of instructions.

Could I do this same thing with a 50mm lens if I switched the focal length to 550mm?
The higher the diameter of the objective lens, the more detail you see. The higher the focal length of the objective, the higher the magnification. Increasing the amount of both always increases the detail. Of course, this is dependent of your ocular. You can calculate your magnification by dividing the focal length of your objective by the focal length of the ocular in mm. The diameter of your objective is your aperture. The max useful magnification of your telescope before things get blurry is your aperture in inches multiplied by 50.
