Hey, sorry for the late response. The lever in the final boss room opens the gate out again - although if you meant the trap thing that you can press instead - that's all it is. The whole thing is a trap basically. The note the final boss drops alludes to what the lever itself does though but as he turns to ashes it can be easy to miss. On later versions, when you beat the final boss there's a new way out that appears in that room anyway as well though. Also, that key that didn't seem to appear is normally down to a conflict, maybe you have a mod that changes keys? Even if you don't, the latest version of the mod actually reworks that key so it's on a better platform so should always be there and never conflict with anything, so that would hopefully never be an issue anymore. Finally, that trapdoor at the end is opened with a key you passed by! After you exit the maze of doors, if you look under the overturned table the key is partly hidden under a plate. 👀
On PlayStation, it's most likely not actual "new" dialogue, but unused and cut voice lines the cast originally recorded but weren't a part of the final game. Unless the Author somehow mixed current voice lines as the same actors do voice multiple characters. Guess we'll see shortly.
