It looks very similar to the 1989 Eljer Bidet at my parents’ house. So I’m guessing this is an Eljer & not an American Standard Bidet. Also, American Standard , always clearly branded their Bidets. The Eljer Bidet at my parents’ house has no branding on it either. This Bidet was usually paired up with the Eljer Windsor Toilet.
Thats cool! This is an American style bidet with flushing rim and ascending spray. The idea is you can sit over the spray to cleanse your body and the rim flush is used to flush the bowl and it can also be used to warm the seat. You can also plug the drain and fill the bowl with water so you can wash with soap. Some people even wash their feet or infant in the bidet. The biggest disadvantage is that it takes up more space in the bathroom. A European style bidet just has a special faucet that sprays out into the bowl with no flushing rim and no jet in the bottom.
You could be right. I think Eljer made a bidet in the 60s and 70s with the angular base like the toilets, but the curved rim looked really similar to this. That is a really good possibility.
This is an interesting Bidet, I’ll give your dad a shoutout for giving you the Bidet asa surprise gift and a shoutout to you for receiving a TH-cam first Bidet. Wow, very interesting to use and I have no idea what’s its for, makes a very nice water cannon. Very cute dogs 🐶 too

Interesting, it's cool how it has a flushing rim. Also at 4:33 i'm pretty sure that's a vacuum breaker for the faucet
You're right. That is a vacuum breaker and it's pretty standard equipment on a bidet like that.

I have seen bidets in France (15+ years ago) that had just flushing rims and no jet spray.
