I remember watching a documentary of flyover construction in Mumbai many many years ago in TV and some architect saying "IF WE DON'T HAVE SPACE TO BUILD THE ROADS INSIDE THE CITY, WE'LL TAKE IT TO THE SEA". I wondered what he meant back then and could only guess. Now I know what he really was trying to saying. Awesome,
I hope once completed they show aerial shots of this in movies to depict Mumbai like they show LA or NY and not slums . We are one of the best cities in the world and this infra ramp up along with the 10 metros will take us right up there 🙌
My salute to all the people connected in building this Mumbai Coastal Road. It's one of the very big project which involves lots of concentration, hardwork, expertise and faith in yourself. Whenever I pass thru Haji Ali, I use to wish that I would get an opportunity to see the making of coastal road . Thanks Autocar for making this wonderful video. I feel so blessed to be a resident of Mumbai since my birth and being a son of INDIA.
Building more roads doesn't solve traffic. It just encourages more people to drive. The funding for this would have been much more effectively used to create stronger public transit. One metro line on the same route would be able to carry many more people with a fraction of the emissions.
Delhi is probably only city in India where even though there is traffic, it never goes to a complete halt, it just slows down..hope more Indian cities are like that soon
I am 67 and not from Bombay. But I have lived through this city for my life. And I have seen the city from all sides. I will say that this road benefits the Rich Western population.
Hopefully in some years gov of Mumbai / state make compulsory EVs only in mumbai. ( Of course when EVs become affordable to common man) I want to buy Nexon EV BUT Budget is not that much for me 😑. Hope tata bring altroz or punch in electric ASAP.
Yes that day is arriving soon. There will be sexy classy and affordable EVs everywhere in Mumbai which can accommodate lot of passengers and will reduce the pollution in the city by a lot. It's just that people will call those EVs a Metro!
