Scott did the arrangement for this beautiful performance. Pentatonix will have a concert in New Zealand later this month. They are beginning their World tour. They are in Singapore now for a concert on the 6th.After that they will tour Japan. After that they will tour Australia and then on to New Zealand for a concert. In May they will tour UK/Europe. Okay, your reaction to their performance is officially my favorite. Nobody else was original enough to include a rogue cat! Awesome! And beautiful cat too! ;-)

I'd love to see Ptx in person and hear Mitch sing it out of the park

Out of the park, probably out of the country in tiny little NZ 😅 Such a big voice.

This song was about the only good thing for the state of Texas during this entire game.

I really enjoyed your reaction and analysis! Subbed.Their entire Hollywood Bowl concert is available on TH-cam (split into a video per song). It was recorded in September, if you want to hear more live PTX.

I subscribed for more reactions to Pentatonix. I would love to see you react to them more. Also there is a 5 person group called the California Rolls on the masked singer this season that might just sound a little familiar, especially their harmonies and their vocal agility….

If you happen to struggle being able to hear the bass, try headphones, they’ll pick it up great!
I’ve listened to this in different forms of phone speakers and computer speakers and it doesn’t allow the mix of the bass to flow through as clearly as the ear buds/headphones do.
Just throwing out a hopefully helpful side note to try-I couldn’t tell if you were using anything other than your computer speakers.
    Fun reaction:-)

Thanks, yeah headphones are definitely better, I just found the lower range of this didn't reflect the singers ranges to the extent I usually hear from Pentatonix, so I will make sure to react to another song which hopefully let's them show it off a bit more 😊

Hi thanks for your reaction. Many responses about Matt's awesome bass by reactors. Try headphones for those. Or listen to other reactors where it is clearer especially on the word "wave." There are different ones. Try Mr. Boyd.

Just some advice when listening to PTX, headphones are a must. You definitely would have heard Matt’s bass. 😉

I just subbed and would love to hear any more reactions to PTX. So glad you know Scott, Mitch and Kirstin. Matt and Kevin are also amazing. I hope this will give them more notoriety, although getting their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame will help with that, too, I hope. Thank you for your reaction. On a longer PTX video, I hope you break it down even more since you are a professional.

    • @vtstudio173
      @vtstudio173  ปีที่แล้ว +1

I really wish I'd heard more of those lows so I could've done a more indepth analysis on Matt and Kevin, but given this was an anthem I don't think the arrangement really had much room for that without conflicting or taking away from the top lines so I understand why they weren't doing as noticable lines as the others. Hopefully when I get to do another PTX react I'll choose one with even more range. If you have any in mind please let me know!

I was in HS choir and my seat in class (and on the risers for performances)I was right next to the bass section (immediate right) so I learned to block out what was on my right and blend to the person on my left not because I was told, it was just how my brain did it. When I was in college I actually dropped out of choir because they had us seated reversed and I couldn't retrain my brain to blend with my right instead of left. You are the 1st person I've heard say anything about that so thank you - I wasn't nutz!

You are mistaken if you believe Pentatonix uses studio effects. But don't believe me, do some comparisons: 1)Hallelujah official video and Hallelujah live on stage during their NBC Christmas show. 2) Sound of Silence official video and Sound of Silence on the Jimmie Kimmel Show and 3) God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen official video and live on Rachel Ray show. They are so good they sound like they are looping and over dubbing, but that's the incredible thing, they aren't. Hope you'll take me up on the challenge, or just plunge into the deep well of their catalogue. If they could do something great to the National Anthem, instead of just singing "brave" long and loud, you know they can arrange the heck out of anything. Try Amazing Grace!

I have heard lots of their recorded stuff, and I do stand by that they use processing on their vocals such as EQ effects. This isn't a bad thing though, most if not all recording artists vocals are processed. It's to produce the best form of the sound for the listener. Even limiters and compression are vocal effects used in processing to limit peaks in the mics which are sometimes unavoidable, those are the main effects I hear, I'm not talking about autotune or things that would suggest they're not capable of producing said sounds. Vocal processing is not a bad thing by any means at all and it doesn't change their talent. I was just pleased to hear this video when the vocals are live and not edited or processed at all. 😊

If you have't heard of The Warning i would prob suggest. the live version of Animosity th-cam.com/video/K8VPX-diRl4/w-d-xo.html or their reimagined version of Enter Sandman th-cam.com/video/vg9vNE7gm0I/w-d-xo.html that was done for Metallica's 30th Anniversary Blacklist album or the latest one to drop Disciple th-cam.com/video/Wo0odllVq8g/w-d-xo.html all of these pro shot videos were from Aug 2022 just to give you an insight to how good they are live

    Hello voice teacher!
I have a suggestion for you. Please consider reacting to NIGHTWISH' rendition of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (End of an Era DVD). The best version I know. NIGHTWISH does not do many covers, but when they do they make it their own still honouring the original. You could call their covers tributes.
NIGHTWISH - THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (End of an Era concert/DVD)
NIGHTWISH is a symphonic metal band from Finland. Do not let the word METAL scare you. NIGHTWISH works with The London Philharmonic Orchestra. It records the backing track for Nightwish. In this performance female vocals by Tarja Turunen, the original NIGHTWISH female vocalist, her vocal style in general is quite operatic, so it's very good for the role of Christine. The bassist Marko Hietala as the scary Phantom is going to blow you away. That has happened to several vocal coaches/opera singers.
He sings the part as it should be. Their voices blend amazingly well, better than you might expect. I would love to hear your opinion, analysis!
Greetings from Helsinki Finland, the other side of the Globe!
(PS: I hope you'll react to this one, and meet the International Nightwish Army, they are nice people, you'll see.)

This sounds wonderful! I love all genres of music (for the most part) as every genre utilizes different aspects of our voice. I will add it to my list and will probably get to it in about three weeks time. Thanks for the recommendation!
