The stage itself looks great but this is a very easy pass for me since I don’t have room to display another stage. I don’t like missing out on Ultimate Edition Big Poppa Pump but I’m sure they will release him as an Elite at some point. I’m more excited to get early 90s Steiner Brothers figures anyway.

$400 is an “ouch” price tag. I mean, probably worth it for all you can (potentially) get but the early bird figure is a snore. Should’ve made it Warrior imo
I agree about the ring. I was talking with a friend about it & told him the same thing. They really should’ve added in a Ring mat, turn buckles, ropes, etc. As awesome as this entrance is, it doesn’t make any sense if you don’t have a ring to go with it. And I have ZERO room for another ring but the option to swap out pieces would’ve been a nice touch seeing has most ppl that will be backing this probably backed the new gen arena as well. Also, the lack of nWo is kinda weird. I would’ve preferred to have a new updated Hollywood Hogan with the updated skin tone & slightly different attire & maybe a Hall & Nash. I also would’ve liked to have seen a DDP in his purple pants since we’ve already had this attire before. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll be backing one but last time I backed 2 cause I wanted to double up on the figures. I really wish they would add an option to double up on the figures instead of having to buy a whole other bundle.

Steiner and DDP are perfect choices, but another Hogan? Yawn. Another Rey? meh. The WCW Warrior is funny, but not really incentive to back it. Should have added an old school Cruiser Weight Eddie Guerrero, A Booker T, or some Nitro Girls.
I had the same thoughts on the ropes, ring skirts etc. They should have included those to convert the New Gen. It would create synergy between the projects.
Coming from someone who has always been a WWF guy this thing is amazing. I'd watch occasionally during the Monday night wars during commercials and loved the wcw games on the N64. I feel I need this and I will be backing it. I hope the figures do come in standard ultimate packaging tho so I can easily sell the figures I don't want.

I’ve been thinking about this all day. If all the tiers are reached, this is a good deal. The New Gen entrance really impressed me with the elaborate lights and patterns, and this looks like it’ll take that to the next level. I think they may have missed the mark by making Hogan the early bird, since we’ve already got 3-4 Ultimate Hogans that are very similar. I’d assume getting DDP into that slot would have helped hit the goal by early bird timeframe, and then Steiner and Warrior at 7K/9K respectively. Kind of a head scratcher. I definitely like the figures a lot, and the stage is gorgeous. But $400 is steep, plus the amount of space I’d need would be too much. I’ll most likely end up passing this time. *EDIT - if they did a ring with Ultimate Hall and Nash, I’d be on board. I’m glad they didn’t put Hall and Nash in here, since I would absolutely miss out haha
Two sets of 8 LED lights (16 total) w/ A remote at Walmart costs $20/$30 tops! A Rey nobody is asking for, A WWE Hogan Repack ($26 on Amazon) And an Ultimate Warrior nobody remembers. Who's wearing the blue jeans that belong to DDP (another re-pack, minus the new head & butterfly torso). Thus Aside from A sweet Steiner figure (that still isn't the Poppa Pump we really want)- _"Good Deal"_ You say,, I strongly disagree.

I’m all in but mainly for the figures I want all the figures but not the Hogan absolutely fed up with figures of him rather get Raven or someone we likely won’t get regularly. If they throw in some WCW ring skirts this could sell a bit easier.
I'm super pumped about the Ultimate Edition DDP, Scott Steiner, and Rey Mysterio Jr, because those are Ultimate Editions that we would never see at retail. I'm an Ultimate Warrior guy and a new Hulk Hogan is always welcome, but enough is enough Mattel!!! How many more Ultimate Edition Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan's do we need???? In Canada we have to pay $695 for this, if we're paying that much they should be giving us 5 new figures that have never been available in the Ultimate Edition line.
This is a tough one. $400 is a lot. The figures coming with this is meh. A Luger, Piper, Eddie, may have been better than Warrior. Warrior, not a whole lot of WCW history, and unforgettable at that. I kicked myself for not getting the new Gen ring. I don't know. Not only that, but a Raw is War stage would make more sense. You just had the Raw is war ring, you need a stage to go with it. No ring to go with it. Makes no sense.
Not a bad price if they cross 11,000 backers, but only 8500ish was the number for the New Gen, at $150 less. Would be nice if they threw in ring accessories to convert one of the two rings - that part makes no sense. I've been 100% on collecting Ultimates, they're branching off too much now, I think I may be backing out. Missed the Walmart Ruthless Ultimate preorders, my local hasn't had a single Ultimate figure, haven't seen any AEW Supreme, none of the Walmart AEW exclusives, so my hopes aren't set too high on getting the exclusive Ultimates.
I just don't see it selling past 7k at the $400 price point...If New Gen sold under 9k @ $250 & had to add a early bird...With this all said I will back 1 this time instead of multiples...I would have liked to see a Eric B, Bobby H & a Mongo figs for commentary along with Big Poppa Pump, Hogan & Rey... Happy Collecting!!!
I'm gonna get one because I love the stage but I think it's a huge miss to not put debut hall and Nash in there because that's what I think of with the Monday night wars on wcws end. If they had to do another Hogan they should have picked his gear from when he joined Hall and Nash as well.

I know they needed the figures to sell this crowdfund but it’s like Hasblo all over again. Locking characters behind a crowdfund I never liked especially with something I don’t want to get.
The stage looks INCREDIBLE.... but: My immediate reaction was that the chronology of the Hogan figure doesn't feel consistent for me. That must be a 1994 version where all of the others are late 1997 and into 1998. You would certainly need the NWO Hollywood Ultimate to fit in and so the Hogan here feels pretty redundant. In addition to that Hollywood Hogan, I was trying to think who else was already out there to go in this set - I am thinking of the Target Randy Savage and the Amazon Goldberg... maybe Ric Flair but I think that is a 1993 representation. So we do feel a bit light on things in the collection at this stage that make me want to buy to enhance them. Elites would look great, of course, but if that is the case then I could happily wait for the eventual elite Big Poppa Pump with chain mail, for example. I am clearly talking myself out of it, but the killer blow here in the UK is this; including taxes and shipping Mattel is selling the set for £479 (only £9 of which is shipping so not huge on that side). That is $590. Both the differential and total amount make that a very difficult one to swallow.

They don't make enough WCW figures for this to work. Hope it doesn't get funded. Mattel fans need to teach Mattel a lesson like people did with hasbro on the ghost rider situation. Shocked, they started with this instead of the RAW ramp. These toy companies are trying to bleed customers dry. I truly hope this doesn't get funded. They can make this without a crowd fund.

This is cool, but an easy pass. There are so many other things I could spend $400+ on. I do hope it gets funded though, as many are on board. I know you love the Warrior, but when I think WCW, the Ultimate Warrior doesn't come to mind at all, as he just had a cup of coffee there. Now if we had Buff Bagwell, Disco Inferno, Alex Wright and Surfer Sting, with Rick and Scott, my wallet might hate me. I know most wouldn't want those, but it would have been cool stretch goals or something.
I think collectors should not start backing until this until it's set to expire.. then hopefully (like last time) they include another figure or figures more worth our while (yes, we miss out on the Hogan but do we really need another repaint Hogan 🙄)

That's a pretty steep price tag. Hope folks remember that the "unlocks" are not really free figures. Mattel has factored them into the price point and margins they're hoping to make on the units sold. Make no mistake, the base offering is $400. If you want this "collectable", better be prepare to accept that it might only come with 1 figure if the early bird isn't triggered and there are less than 7000 backers by May 5th.
If I had the room I most definitely will back it but I don't have the room the figures do sound nice to have but another thing I would love to see them and do I know they're giving some good figures but don't type of figured I would like to see unmask Rey Mysterio with the jumper

Another warrior. For the 11k? Should have been Booker T or Eddie Guerrero. Hell even Cactus Jack or Vader. Unfortunately it can’t be Sting or Flair right now.
Seeing that Steiner ultimate just reemphasizes what I have already been championing for a while. Get rid of the removable glasses on ultimates. Simply include a head with them sculpted on. They always, always, always look too big and goofy. Just have 2 heads included. One with glasses. One without. Get it done, Mattel. Let's go.
I also thought skirts and other accessories to convert the Raw or NG ring to Nitro woulda been a tier but after thinking about it it would be relying on only those that have an extra ring or willing to buy one/another. It wouldn’t be a motivator for a lot of potential backers to get to the next tier. My guess is we see a Nitro ring sold on Creations and/or RSC within the next year.
I think it's likely we get a WCW Nitro Ring as a Ringside Exclusive with an exclusive figure, similar how we got the Raw Ring with UE Kane last Fall. I could also see Hall and Nash being the next Ringside Exclusive 2-Pack set after the Usos later this year. As for the WCW Stage, I think it's awesome. The figures are hit or miss for me though. The DDP & Steiner are great, regardless of DDP's attire being a redo from previous Elite figures. Rey Mysterio is ok, but Hogan is basically the Amazon UE again, and I'm personally not a fan of Warrior in jeans.
I will also say this. Mattel will bait you guys again. Crowd fund a $250 ring. Then they released the same ring cheaper without a crowd fund. If and it's a strong If, this thing gets funded. Look for them to release the RAW ramp for like $150

The figures I want the most are DDP and Steiner. I would prefer an Eddy over Hogan and Warrior but understand why they're in there. No doubt in my mind that the stage will be spectacular and if this fully funds, like the New Gen ring it's a good value. But it does come down to $400 and I have to think about it. My wife didn't start watching wrestling till 2012 and she still thinks WCW and the Monday Night Wars is a big thing. I think the popularity of that will carry it to comparable numbers to the New Gen Arena. I'm keeping an eye on this, at $700 CDN it's a really hard sell, but maybe if it gets in the neighbourhood of that Ultimate Warrior, then I might bite.

Not for me, sadly. Being a UK collector I just can't justify the extra cost. The entrance stage looks incredible but the figures do nothing for me. If they were more in my wheelhouse I might have been able to talk myself into it.
I shouldn’t be, but I’m in. I think the stage with the led lights on will look sick in my basement with my collection. Only problem is it’s huge and I don’t know how the hell I’m gonna display it. And the figures they chose are kinda meh. Wish DDP had his Summer 98 gear with his iconic t-shirt, and I wish they could have found a way to do Rodman, or at least Rick Steiner with his leather jacket. Or “fire me, I’m already fired” tuxedo Flair. Either way though, I’m in.
I think you underestimate the love for WCW. I want this bad but $400 is too much. I understand the Warrior and Hogan but man I'd rather have some deeper WCW cuts. Arn, Mongo, a young heel Eddie, nWo Konnan, Alex Wright, nWo Eric Bischoff, Dean Malenko, JJ Dillon, Pilman, Ultimo Dragon, Glacier, the YET-EH.
I would love all those as well, but I think you overestimate the love for all those characters as something like this needs tiptop guys that brings more eyes to the project. Also majority of those guys are not available to Mattel so they can’t be in the conversation

Personally I would have replaced warrior and Hogan with either Booker T, Eddie Guerrero, Ric Flair, Roddy Piper, Billy Kidman, Rick Steiner, Psychosis, or Ultimo Dragon....and a shot in the dark with Sting.
I never got the 2 in 1 argument. There’s no shared parts in the setup other than the stage and ramp kinda being similar. If you’re adding the titan tron, the light towers, the extra steel beams with lighting, etc you’re adding a couple extra hundred dollars to the campaign making it even harder to fund. And giving people a lot of extra useless parts they then need to figure out how to store or get rid of because they’re likely display one over the other and not wanna keep switching out parts periodically.

Me so I can get all those figures especially if I can do a payment plan would make it a lot easier to justify and I want that Warrior figure.

I really hope they they give authentic scale WCW ring skirt and turnbuckles because I like things to match and I can’t have a WCW entrance without some ring accessories because I really don’t have any
I’ve been thinking about this all day. If all the tiers are reached, this is a good deal. The New Gen entrance really impressed me with the elaborate lights and patterns, and this looks like it’ll take that to the next level.
I think they may have missed the mark by making Hogan the early bird, since we’ve already got 3-4 Ultimate Hogans that are very similar. I’d assume getting DDP into that slot would have helped hit the goal by early bird timeframe, and then Steiner and Warrior at 7K/9K respectively. Kind of a head scratcher.
I definitely like the figures a lot, and the stage is gorgeous. But $400 is steep, plus the amount of space I’d need would be too much. I’ll most likely end up passing this time.
*EDIT - if they did a ring with Ultimate Hall and Nash, I’d be on board. I’m glad they didn’t put Hall and Nash in here, since I would absolutely miss out haha
Two sets of 8 LED lights (16 total) w/ A remote at Walmart costs $20/$30 tops! A Rey nobody is asking for, A WWE Hogan Repack ($26 on Amazon) And an Ultimate Warrior nobody remembers. Who's wearing the blue jeans that belong to DDP (another re-pack, minus the new head & butterfly torso). Thus Aside from A sweet Steiner figure (that still isn't the Poppa Pump we really want)- _"Good Deal"_ You say,, I strongly disagree.
@@floorboss the scale of the stage, the intricacy of the design, the complexity of the lights (which aren’t the same ones you buy at WalMart so the false equivalency doesn’t apply here), and a totally unique show piece presentation make it a good deal - again, IF the tiers are hit.
As for the figures - of course it’s not the Big Poppa Pump people want. Do you have any idea how much more crying and moaning would be happening if this was people’s ideal Steiner that was hidden behind a $400 buy-in? They’ll do that version at some point.
If you don’t want to buy it, that’s your call. But don’t kid yourself into thinking this is gonna be some cheap bootleg cash grab.

What Mattel has done here is backwards logic. You don't want to appeal to your Fan BASE CUSTOMER by giving them Re-Packs! Make it special, i.e. ANOTHER Rey Mysterio doesn't really do that. Thus the decorations make the package look like what it is, A GiANT Rip-off! Mattel is charging Fans for tooling they already have made. Because the stage set already exists..

As far as LED Lights & Remote controls go, their ubiquitous- its 2023. Hell, They were 2 years back. Nothing about the electronics included here is noteworthy. E.g. Many LED TV's have 1000's of LED Lights w/ in them. And A 40" LED TV right now at Best buy can be purchased at around $120. An that TV Does alot more than just blink.. So your "electronic argument" here is A Mute point.

I’m not here to change anyone’s mind, either buy the thing or don’t. All the caps lock in the world isn’t gonna change minds. It was the exact same arguments about the New Gen arena from people just like you, who ended up being the guys asking for someone to sell them one at cost a year later. I’m comfortable with what they’re offering, if I decide to back it or not is the real “moot point.”

I’m all in but mainly for the figures I want all the figures but not the Hogan absolutely fed up with figures of him rather get Raven or someone we likely won’t get regularly. If they throw in some WCW ring skirts this could sell a bit easier.

I'm super pumped about the Ultimate Edition DDP, Scott Steiner, and Rey Mysterio Jr, because those are Ultimate Editions that we would never see at retail. I'm an Ultimate Warrior guy and a new Hulk Hogan is always welcome, but enough is enough Mattel!!! How many more Ultimate Edition Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan's do we need???? In Canada we have to pay $695 for this, if we're paying that much they should be giving us 5 new figures that have never been available in the Ultimate Edition line.

This is a tough one. $400 is a lot. The figures coming with this is meh. A Luger, Piper, Eddie, may have been better than Warrior. Warrior, not a whole lot of WCW history, and unforgettable at that. I kicked myself for not getting the new Gen ring. I don't know.
Not only that, but a Raw is War stage would make more sense. You just had the Raw is war ring, you need a stage to go with it. No ring to go with it. Makes no sense.
Not a bad price if they cross 11,000 backers, but only 8500ish was the number for the New Gen, at $150 less. Would be nice if they threw in ring accessories to convert one of the two rings - that part makes no sense. I've been 100% on collecting Ultimates, they're branching off too much now, I think I may be backing out. Missed the Walmart Ruthless Ultimate preorders, my local hasn't had a single Ultimate figure, haven't seen any AEW Supreme, none of the Walmart AEW exclusives, so my hopes aren't set too high on getting the exclusive Ultimates.
Anticipated this was coming and snagged ropes and skirts for a Nitro ring. Already got a ring to further customize to complete the image.

I just don't see it selling past 7k at the $400 price point...If New Gen sold under 9k @ $250 & had to add a early bird...With this all said I will back 1 this time instead of multiples...I would have liked to see a Eric B, Bobby H & a Mongo figs for commentary along with Big Poppa Pump, Hogan & Rey...

I'm gonna get one because I love the stage but I think it's a huge miss to not put debut hall and Nash in there because that's what I think of with the Monday night wars on wcws end. If they had to do another Hogan they should have picked his gear from when he joined Hall and Nash as well.

The stage looks INCREDIBLE.... but:
My immediate reaction was that the chronology of the Hogan figure doesn't feel consistent for me. That must be a 1994 version where all of the others are late 1997 and into 1998. You would certainly need the NWO Hollywood Ultimate to fit in and so the Hogan here feels pretty redundant.
In addition to that Hollywood Hogan, I was trying to think who else was already out there to go in this set - I am thinking of the Target Randy Savage and the Amazon Goldberg... maybe Ric Flair but I think that is a 1993 representation. So we do feel a bit light on things in the collection at this stage that make me want to buy to enhance them. Elites would look great, of course, but if that is the case then I could happily wait for the eventual elite Big Poppa Pump with chain mail, for example.
I am clearly talking myself out of it, but the killer blow here in the UK is this; including taxes and shipping Mattel is selling the set for £479 (only £9 of which is shipping so not huge on that side). That is $590. Both the differential and total amount make that a very difficult one to swallow.

They don't make enough WCW figures for this to work. Hope it doesn't get funded. Mattel fans need to teach Mattel a lesson like people did with hasbro on the ghost rider situation. Shocked, they started with this instead of the RAW ramp. These toy companies are trying to bleed customers dry. I truly hope this doesn't get funded. They can make this without a crowd fund.

This is cool, but an easy pass. There are so many other things I could spend $400+ on. I do hope it gets funded though, as many are on board. I know you love the Warrior, but when I think WCW, the Ultimate Warrior doesn't come to mind at all, as he just had a cup of coffee there. Now if we had Buff Bagwell, Disco Inferno, Alex Wright and Surfer Sting, with Rick and Scott, my wallet might hate me. I know most wouldn't want those, but it would have been cool stretch goals or something.
I think collectors should not start backing until this until it's set to expire.. then hopefully (like last time) they include another figure or figures more worth our while (yes, we miss out on the Hogan but do we really need another repaint Hogan 🙄)

Would have loved Hollywood Hogan in the nWo Elite gear with Nash, Hall and Steiner, a Sting figure, DDP, Booker T snd Ric Flair. A ring should certainly go with this set. I’d love to buy it but the dollar conversion to Australian dollars would be way too expensive for moi.

That's a pretty steep price tag. Hope folks remember that the "unlocks" are not really free figures. Mattel has factored them into the price point and margins they're hoping to make on the units sold. Make no mistake, the base offering is $400. If you want this "collectable", better be prepare to accept that it might only come with 1 figure if the early bird isn't triggered and there are less than 7000 backers by May 5th.
If I had the room I most definitely will back it but I don't have the room the figures do sound nice to have but another thing I would love to see them and do I know they're giving some good figures but don't type of figured I would like to see unmask Rey Mysterio with the jumper

Another warrior. For the 11k? Should have been Booker T or Eddie Guerrero. Hell even Cactus Jack or Vader. Unfortunately it can’t be Sting or Flair right now.
Seeing that Steiner ultimate just reemphasizes what I have already been championing for a while. Get rid of the removable glasses on ultimates. Simply include a head with them sculpted on. They always, always, always look too big and goofy. Just have 2 heads included. One with glasses. One without. Get it done, Mattel. Let's go.
I also thought skirts and other accessories to convert the Raw or NG ring to Nitro woulda been a tier but after thinking about it it would be relying on only those that have an extra ring or willing to buy one/another. It wouldn’t be a motivator for a lot of potential backers to get to the next tier. My guess is we see a Nitro ring sold on Creations and/or RSC within the next year.

That's a grievous error in judgement. Ppl would've bought two so you can recreate the Monday Night Wars. Especially fig photographers.
I think it's likely we get a WCW Nitro Ring as a Ringside Exclusive with an exclusive figure, similar how we got the Raw Ring with UE Kane last Fall. I could also see Hall and Nash being the next Ringside Exclusive 2-Pack set after the Usos later this year.
As for the WCW Stage, I think it's awesome. The figures are hit or miss for me though. The DDP & Steiner are great, regardless of DDP's attire being a redo from previous Elite figures. Rey Mysterio is ok, but Hogan is basically the Amazon UE again, and I'm personally not a fan of Warrior in jeans.

Difference was the ring came with a stage and two UE figures so not a real good comparison.

The figures I want the most are DDP and Steiner. I would prefer an Eddy over Hogan and Warrior but understand why they're in there. No doubt in my mind that the stage will be spectacular and if this fully funds, like the New Gen ring it's a good value. But it does come down to $400 and I have to think about it. Totally agree that the New Gen ring was more of a niche item. Great breakdown, Kyle.

My wife didn't start watching wrestling till 2012 and she still thinks WCW and the Monday Night Wars is a big thing. I think the popularity of that will carry it to comparable numbers to the New Gen Arena. I'm keeping an eye on this, at $700 CDN it's a really hard sell, but maybe if it gets in the neighbourhood of that Ultimate Warrior, then I might bite.

Not for me, sadly. Being a UK collector I just can't justify the extra cost. The entrance stage looks incredible but the figures do nothing for me. If they were more in my wheelhouse I might have been able to talk myself into it.
555 Euros is a crazy price for european collectors..The choice of figures doesnt encourage to buy it with half of our monthly wage.

I shouldn’t be, but I’m in. I think the stage with the led lights on will look sick in my basement with my collection. Only problem is it’s huge and I don’t know how the hell I’m gonna display it. And the figures they chose are kinda meh. Wish DDP had his Summer 98 gear with his iconic t-shirt, and I wish they could have found a way to do Rodman, or at least Rick Steiner with his leather jacket. Or “fire me, I’m already fired” tuxedo Flair. Either way though, I’m in.

I want this bad but $400 is too much. I understand the Warrior and Hogan but man I'd rather have some deeper WCW cuts. Arn, Mongo, a young heel Eddie, nWo Konnan, Alex Wright, nWo Eric Bischoff, Dean Malenko, JJ Dillon, Pilman, Ultimo Dragon, Glacier, the YET-EH.
I would love all those as well, but I think you overestimate the love for all those characters as something like this needs tiptop guys that brings more eyes to the project. Also majority of those guys are not available to Mattel so they can’t be in the conversation

Personally I would have replaced warrior and Hogan with either Booker T, Eddie Guerrero, Ric Flair, Roddy Piper, Billy Kidman, Rick Steiner, Psychosis, or Ultimo Dragon....and a shot in the dark with Sting.
I never got the 2 in 1 argument. There’s no shared parts in the setup other than the stage and ramp kinda being similar. If you’re adding the titan tron, the light towers, the extra steel beams with lighting, etc you’re adding a couple extra hundred dollars to the campaign making it even harder to fund. And giving people a lot of extra useless parts they then need to figure out how to store or get rid of because they’re likely display one over the other and not wanna keep switching out parts periodically.
