Taking the Pope-like figure out of the equation and replacing it with the part of ourselves that guides us toward the light helped me to finally make sense of this card for me. And the importance of daily practice. Love it. Thanks, Marcus.

Thank you Marcus! Your take on the card helps overcome any 'triggering'. I've learned now to think of the hierophant as my higher self wisdom now! Your insights are so helpful!

This is the best breakdown of the Hierophant thus far. Prior to finding this video, I had the hardest time understanding this card because I am not religious whatsoever so non of the (pope/ religious) breakdowns related to me. Which led me to deem this card as a representation of our Highest Self. What made me come to this decision was because of the 3’s and the colors displayed on the card. The three-tiered crown represents the human, high self and highest self. He wears three robes which are red, blue and white. The red on his robe represents the physical (human self) the blue represents communication (high self) the white represents spirit (highest self). Plus there are 3 individuals on the card so, I hope this further helps someone else in need. ✌🏾

Hey Marcus I was wondering if you'd help me.. I recently watched a video saying the hierphant tends to fall victim to the system and its corruption.. an it kinda idk I don't know how to feel about that.. I'm not sure I understand exactly.. the idea of this card is representing to me at least the energy that asks us to get back on track basically.. so to think that energy being corrupt is more of the "devil" energy right?

The Reversed Hierophant can have his issues, where there may be some ego power struggles within the sharing of spiritual wisdom, but in general, this card is mostly a card of devotion, and spiritual practice. getting connected to source, and God.

I’m still trying to figure this card out. When I think of the 5’s in the Tarot, I think of challenge and conflict. So why is the 5 represented by The Hierophant in the Major Arcana? To tell us that to overcome this conflict we need to connect with the divine? Perhaps something more here that I’m not connecting. Thoughts? 🙏

Well, the Minor arcana are related to a more challenging frequency of the five. the Majors will always be about the shift of consciousness, and how the numerology affects our growth. The challenge here, on one level, is to be both the channel of the divine, AND be the humble devotee, always open to growth. It is to know our connection to God depends on consistency, and practice. That is challenging alright.

He is tough to connect to, just like an organised practice or our own guidance
