Maybe they really took inspiration from the Sleeping Slaves of fate deal, where it was just destined he wouldn't survive his injuries. The more you fight it the worse it will be. Kakyoin kept things from getting worse by not resisting fate.

Polnareff's ending is literally a fate worse than death. He finally got his revenge on J. Giel, Vanilla Ice and Dio, but he lost two of his closest friends, Avdol and Iggy in the process and it was only then he learned how special life really was. Sure, Kakyoin dying to knife wounds in his ending was bad, but at least he died happy. Polnareff received the ending of Kill Bill Vol. 2 *_6 YEARS BEFORE THE MOVIE WAS RELEASED._* Oh, and then Part 5 happened to Polnareff.

I sort of thought that he was fine, but then became a problem once he got in the air. Flying in a plane shortly after surgery can cause life-threatening blood clots, which he might have gotten for the knives. I don't have evidence for the theory, that's just what I assumed because it makes more sense than just letting yourself bleed out
For those who don't understand Kakyoins ending, he basically beats Dio, but hes still badly wounded and while hes on the plane he dies from his injuries.
I think Polnareff's ending is really sad, as we never get to truely see how he is on the plane in the Manga/Anime. He leads on a boastful and proud front, which is one of the things he does whe he is in emotionally wrecked. We can see this when he starts getting mad at Avdol when he is shot by Hol Horse, but when Kakyoin confronts him he starts to break down. I think this is especially sad since he doesn't ever truly feel joy here, he feels sadness and remorse for the ones he lost, and we can assume he probably feels this way about his whole journey with the Crusaders up until part 5. The poor man is in constant pain over the loss of his sister and over the loss of his friends.

everyone's talking about Kakyoin but nobody realizes that in one ending, Anubis kills DIO and is never seen again, in another we see Anubis fighting for DIO, and in another we see Anubis just straight up slicing the fourth wall and killing the player.

Likely because they probably had the uncompressed files of the VAs during the PS1 version production and likely were doing the intro/ending voices last, so probably the programmer decided to make DIO's sound more high quality while the others are more compressed to fit in the PS1 Disk. Also it seems like the uncompressed VA voice clips were extremely likely deleten by the time the HD version came out on the Xbox 360 and PS3.
@@red3994 Very unlikely, if they couldnt get Hol Horse's VA for the PS1 version endings and used a weird DIO voice for midler then it's likely Capcom did not want to get the OG VAs to redo it. It's likely it's this because the PS1 was the last version that were made by the original devs, so they understood it more than the HD version devs.

For some reason on the US version of the dreamcast version's back, it advertises that it has Super Story Mode even though its only PS1 that had it. Maybe the dreamcast used to be a PS1 port of Heritage For The Future to dreamcast before they decided it was impossible for some reason and decided with the arcade port?
This made me sad, so here's an ending where Kakyoin lives. DIO uses The World, and time stops. Moving over to Kakyoin, he prepares to donut him. However, upon hitting him, a crack is heard. Kakyoin had created a layer of emerald armor beneath his clothing during the 20 meter radius emerald splash. Time resunes, and Kakyoin is sent flying through the air, and crashes onto the water silo. The emerald armor cracks, cutting into his body, but it is far better than having a hole. "Kakyoin! Oh Nooooo!" Joseph screams. Kakyoin is able to get the final message out the first time he summoned his stand, and Joseph runs away. Kakyoin stares into the sky, the last attack had essentially broken his spine, and he could no longer move. Hierophant Green slowly takes him out, making sure to not aggrovate his wounds, before ripping Kakyoin's pants and using it as a makeshift bandage. Hierophant Green proceeds to attempt to find Joseph, only to find him nearly dead. Taking Joseph toward where kakyoin was, DIO never takes Joseph's blood, meaning Jotaro beat up DIO harder after he attempted his "escape plan". All is well, and Kakyoin, while he may never move without the use of his stand, survives. SIKE! THE WATER SILO'S WATER MIXING WITH HIS BLOOD GOT BACTERIA IN HIS BODY, CAUSING HIM TO GET A DISEASE. KAKYOIN DIES IN BED, HIS FRIENDS BESIDE HIM AS HE SHEDS HIS FINAL EMERALD TEAR! KAKYOIN NEVER LIVES!

As someone who has been playing the arcade version the entire time, I'm surprised to learn there is a Playstation version in English.
Playstation version is only good for the Super Story Mode, to be far so it's quite normal to not know.

Hmm, how come DIO in his ending has an HD voice clarity thing going on?
Likely because they probably had the uncompressed files of the VAs during the PS1 version production and likely were doing the intro/ending voices last, so probably the programmer decided to make DIO's sound more high quality while the others are more compressed to fit in the PS1 Disk. Also it seems like the uncompressed VA voice clips were extremely likely deleten by the time the HD version came out on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

@@red3994 Very unlikely, if they couldnt get Hol Horse's VA for the PS1 version endings and used a weird DIO voice for midler then it's likely Capcom did not want to get the OG VAs to redo it.
It's likely it's this because the PS1 was the last version that were made by the original devs, so they understood it more than the HD version devs.

@@red3994 The dreamcast version was a port job, not a update to the arcade games by the original devs like the PS1 got. For some reason on the US version of the dreamcast version's back, it advertises that it has Super Story Mode even though its only PS1 that had it. Maybe the dreamcast used to be a PS1 port of Heritage For The Future to dreamcast before they decided it was impossible for some reason and decided with the arcade port?

In the japan version, DIO explodes but since the international version has censorship, there is no blood or exploding DIO.

This made me sad, so here's an ending where Kakyoin lives.
DIO uses The World, and time stops.
Moving over to Kakyoin, he prepares to donut him.
However, upon hitting him, a crack is heard.
Kakyoin had created a layer of emerald armor beneath his clothing during the 20 meter radius emerald splash.
Time resunes, and Kakyoin is sent flying through the air, and crashes onto the water silo.
The emerald armor cracks, cutting into his body, but it is far better than having a hole.
"Kakyoin! Oh Nooooo!" Joseph screams.
Kakyoin is able to get the final message out the first time he summoned his stand, and Joseph runs away.
Kakyoin stares into the sky, the last attack had essentially broken his spine, and he could no longer move.
Hierophant Green slowly takes him out, making sure to not aggrovate his wounds, before ripping Kakyoin's pants and using it as a makeshift bandage.
Hierophant Green proceeds to attempt to find Joseph, only to find him nearly dead.
Taking Joseph toward where kakyoin was, DIO never takes Joseph's blood, meaning Jotaro beat up DIO harder after he attempted his "escape plan".
All is well, and Kakyoin, while he may never move without the use of his stand, survives.
SIKE! THE WATER SILO'S WATER MIXING WITH HIS BLOOD GOT BACTERIA IN HIS BODY, CAUSING HIM TO GET A DISEASE. KAKYOIN DIES IN BED, HIS FRIENDS BESIDE HIM AS HE SHEDS HIS FINAL EMERALD TEAR! KAKYOIN NEVER LIVES!
