Her dad was one of those people who believed social security numbers were the mark so he never signed up when they introduced them and kept all his kids away from the hospital so they wouldn't get one either. The rest of her family had either died or moved away and she was the only one left on the family homestead. At 80 years old she still gardened, raised chickens, picked eggs and vegetables, and foraged the mountain for food and folk medicine. There was no electricity or plumbing on the homestead so she had to draw her own water from a well. She had a few friends in town who would come check on her and bring her extra supplies but for the most part she was basically self sufficient.

My favorite interpretation is that the mark being on the forehead and hand represents what we think with our head and do with our hands. So it's only our own values that will determine who we follow, not some extrinsic peace of technology
You're right Tim, we don't get to choose WHICH values matter..we do, however , get to choose the values of the Beast or the values of God tho and that will determine at lot of things about our future🤔
The mark will be a law which you will or will not follow. If you follow it because you want to, it will be on your forehead and if you do because you are forced to, it will be on your hand. God's mark will only be on your forehead.
@sergiustanciu2614 The Mark is in the forehead (thoughts/decisions) and in the right hand (acquiescence, obedience). It may very well involve electronic implants, but before that, your so-called free will or moral agency must be predisposed to agree and comply. Be not deceived, the position of "Pope" is the office of the false prophet, and the institution he heads is "Mystery Babylon." Rome will buy out the United States, save Wall Street, etc. The Vatican will then own the United States. The very thing our Founders fled Europe to get away from will be our master. All Denominations will join with Rome in a Christian Coalition to save the economy. That is the Mark of the Beast, and it will all be done "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" Take it, you're damned, and you can never be saved. Refuse it, and you will be hunted down and slaughtered, but, hopefully, granted Life at the Great White Throne. This applies to the saved, but not sealed, before the Rapture. That's why they are left behind. The only people saved out of the Great Tribulation are those saved before the Great Tribulation but not sealed by the Holy Ghost. Denominations are not preparing their people for the Rapture, but are grooming them for the Mark of the Beast. That's the Binding of the Tares.

I find it funny how John and other prophets predicted war and famine and other evil things, and people think it’s so prophetic, but those are the most predictable things about humans. War and famine happened in those days, it happened in the middle ages, and it happens today. Really it happens less today than it ever has.
I wouldn't say less today, also because of internet, we hear about "wars and rumors of wars" much more than they could back in the day. There are currently around 50 conflicts/wars, and about 90 countries are involved in some way, there hasn't been this many since WWII.
War in general is not unique, but when other signs are added, it can be distinguishable. For instance, at Revelation chapter 12, John describes the birth of God's Kingdom. Satan is kicked out of heaven. Woe for the earth and restless humanity. The prophecy in Daniel 4 gives the arrival date as being 1914. Matthew 24 tells what signs will appear when the kingdom arrives, one of them being war. The first world war began in 1914. Coincidence? Even without the exact (encrypted) date given by Daniel, it can be deduced that Jesus' presence had begun because of the multiple signs in Matthew 24. [Jesus' returns has two phases: 1) arrival and 2) revelation).
@Forest Meyers the Beast is no laughing matter. The Beast is a Spirit, an anointing from Hell that overshadows all organizations but eventually will be embodied in a man. and I think end of time means that you realize time is a conceptualización, but man do we love an epic hero story with a final boss in the end XD. It is like "final judgment" i think this literally refers when your judgements about others reduce so much that reality is observed by what it is not what we think it is. Thus, in our last breath we have also our "last judgement" right before coming back to god/paradise i.e. we cease to exist as the concept of a me based on judgements. But it is not epic enough, so we have to find that story that keeps as waiting for paradise.
That's why I don't believe the 2030 or is it 2050 thing. That is what I was hearing before 2012. I don't think that humans are going extinct anytime soon. Edit: I think I have heard both dates. One is climate change is irreversible and the second is if we don't act fast enough we will be extinct by then due to over heating. Honestly I think that we will just adapt like we always have. And yes we should change our ways to help the environment, but I think that at least some of it may be fear mongering/ not in individual control. The coins of Dometian said A. Kai. Domet. Seb. Ge. which adds up to 666 in Jewish Gematria using Greek Letters (as Greek Jews did). Guess who Emperor Domet...(ian) was? Yep you guessed it, the Emperor that put John of Patmos into exile-prison. Caesar Nero as "QSR NRN" = "קסר נרון" = the "666" also fits the bill, since Hebrew (like Egyptian) doesn't use vowels and "Neron" was the Greek way of saying it. Needless to say, some Latin translations said the mark of the beast was the number "616" because in Latin the guys name is Nero, not Neron. N=50. 666-616=50. Taking John straight forward he is talking about Dometian's coins. Taking John as ignoring Dometian (his enemy) he can add the assumption that John wanted to use Hebrew (non-Greek) Gematria to talk about Nero.

The mark is either 666 or 616. In Jewish Gematria 666 coincides exactly with the letters used to demark "German" Caesar Dometian in his coins A. Kai. Domet. Seb. Ge. (Emperor Dometian "AUTOKRATOR KAISAR DOMETIANOS SEBASTOS GERMANIKOS" aka the guy who put John of Patmos, the author of Apocalypse, into "prison-exile" where he supposedly wrote that book). However, 666 also coincides with QSR NRN with a round-about way of "Jewishly" saying "Caesar Neron" , "Nero" being what makes it 616 (written into some manuscripts) since N=50.

Pardon me for asking, but since Revelation deals with spiritual things and events, wouldn’t the mark of the beast also be something spiritual, and not earthly and man-made?
You are astutely correct. I repeat what I wrote here a year ago (or so): The Mark is in the mental attitude of the individual. Call it conditioning with some personal preference mixed in as well. -- How is the mark of the beast placed on someone’s right hand or forehead? (Revelation 13:16) Regarding his commands to the nation of Israel, God said: “Bind them as a reminder on your hand, and they should be like a headband on your forehead.” (Deuteronomy 11:18) This meant, not that the Israelites were to mark their literal hands and foreheads, but that God’s words would guide all their actions and thoughts. Likewise, rather than being something literal such as a 666 tattoo, the mark of the beast symbolically identifies those who let the political system rule their lives. Those with the mark of the beast place themselves in opposition to God.-Revelation 14:9, 10; 19:19- -- Here is a repeat of what I wrote elsewhere, today: 666 is a man's number. Seven is the number of spiritual perfection which occurs many times in the Bible (for instance, seven cattle in Joseph's dream in Egypt and the seven churches and lampstands in Revelation). Six is therefore short of seven, symbolic of man's inability to match spiritual perfection. Anything repeated three times is for emphasis, so 6 once, 6 twice, and 6 three times is what 666 means, not 6 hundred, sixty, and six. Summarizing, 666 is the epitome of spiritual corruption... again showing how serious it is to avoid association with politics.

Scripture establishes 7 as a spiritual number. 6 is a man's number, falling short of the perfection of 7, spiritual perfection. Three "6" in succession emphasizes the message: men's ways are imperfect times three. It is not 666, but 6, 6, 6, repetition of imperfection.

All of these things work together though. SSN enabled consumer credit bureaus, which enabled MasterCard and Visa, which enabled modern banking, which together with barcodes and self checkout, has enabled a system that *could* control who can buy and who can sell. The progression of financial technology being put in place is leading to exactly what revelation predicted. How incredible is that, for a 1st century document?
I agree with your observations regarding the progression! It is incredible!

There will be a deception though.

How is the mark of the beast placed on someone’s right hand or forehead? (Revelation 13:16) Regarding his commands to the nation of Israel, God said: “Bind them as a reminder on your hand, and they should be like a headband on your forehead.” (Deuteronomy 11:18) This meant, not that the Israelites were to mark their literal hands and foreheads, but that God’s words would guide all their actions and thoughts. Likewise, rather than being something literal such as a 666 tattoo, the mark of the beast symbolically identifies those who let the political system rule their lives. Those with the mark of the beast place themselves in opposition to God.-Revelation 14:9, 10; 19:19-
--
Here is a repeat of what I wrote elsewhere, today:
666 is a man's number.
My journey here was to find information I posted before so I don't have to recreate ideas. I have been telling people claiming Christian values that they must stay away from politics. James 4:4 should be enough, but most people ignore the significance of their own actions, refusing to apply the spiritual concepts of the Bible.

Y'all being scared of chips and saying that you'll never get them, wait about 50 years, everyone will have them and whoever doesn't will be the dumb one
To be fair, as a historian, I would have shit myself during the Cuban missile crisis XD
Not to the point of calling master card the mark of the beast but... You know... Panic is somewhat understandable
As a historian then, you should know that the general public had *no idea* how close we came during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Most of it was over & done before it made headlines, and the real nail-biting stuff wouldn't be public for decades.
@@RaptorJesus That's the sort of stuff that really worries me, as another historian. Not the stuff we know that's happening, but the stuff that's happening that the government is quite literally afraid to tell us about.
I think each of these occurrences inch closer and closer to the mark. Like each introduction to these concepts, ideas and technologies, at the risk of sounding conspiratory, desensitize or make society as a whole more comfortable with the idea of whatever the mark may in fact end up being.
Yeah, you don't drop something as diabolical as this on the population all at once. Too obvious. You build up to it so slowly that most people have no idea they're part of the new order until they're trapped by it.
Yup
Or... There is no such thing as "the beast" and the entirety of the Christian religion is made up bullshit written by guys who ate too many magic mushrooms 2000 years ago
What's more likely? 1 of 10,000 religions is the real one and some random series of technological advancements is evil, or it's just as made up as the other 10,000
Maybe the inexplicable technophobia of Christianity is just because it is a backwards ass outdated religion that has no place in the 21st century
My personal theory is that the 666th thing we think is the mark of the beast will be the actual mark of the beast.
By this point in history I think that's already long passed 😂
and when it's not, they'll say it's the 666 thousandth thing
June 6, 2006. Good Friday, around 666 (1×666), around 1332 (2×666), around 1998 (3×666). 3×6 in Hebrew (monster drink). DC/CD District of Columbia/data. IV/VI intravenous/vaccination. XL/LX extra large/obesity
So if we all forget about the mark of the beats there will never be a real mark of the beast, me rn👨🦯

Kind of, it means what first on you mind. Roman/Worldy ways or YAHs ways.
When the mark does come, I don't think it will be any more suspicious to most people than these things are.
or, all of these people who think they can outsmart the Devil instead of having faith are falling right into his plan
@@holdingpattern245 It's not about 'outsmarting' anyone, it's that Revelation makes specific claims (like the Mark being on the right hand or forehead) that these paranoids just ignore. Out of that list given, _how many_ of them have had implementations that met that?
Hell, even with RFID implants, they're niche anyway (you basically only find them in biomod/hacker communities) _and they're almost exclusively placed in the left hand_ because of where we tend to put card readers, and because nobody wants their dominant hand to be the sore one when it's installed or removed.

The mark won't come. Its a fairy tale. And believing in stories of the "end times" makes people blind to the real threats that aren't supernatural

One day if there ever is a megacorporation overlord, we gonna hear the world's most unearned "I told you so"

Most people want to be special and have purpose. Religion exemplifies this, earth as center of universe, humans the most important being created, gods looking like humans, chosen nation, non-believers go to hell, etc.
Being the last generation before big death is play on those feelings.

Inspirational texts always tell people what they want to hear and/or believe. In the case the "mark of the beast," it's that evil has some immediately identifiable characteristic. Just the kind of thing that perpetrators of evil would want you to believe. If there is a "mark of the beast," it's acting in ways that cause ignorance to proliferate.

The progression of financial technology being put in place is leading to exactly what revelation predicted. How incredible is that, for a 1st century document?
I agree with your observations regarding the progression!
It is incredible!
Learning about ideas like empires, financial empires, and late-stage empire have been helpful for me in trying to make sense of things.
Also, learning about apocalyptic literature and the kind of conditions throughout history that it’s been found to be have been written the most really helped me understand some connections more.

It's really funny how they just keep picking a new mark of the beast once the old one didnt work out, almost as if they dont actually know what they're looking for and are operating on an entirely blind obedience.
Well they don't go as far when people don't accept them, but we already see banks locking people out of their accounts over their political beliefs or restricting people's ability to purchase firearms and standard capacity magazines that are legally allowed and a constitutional right. So the concept of all digital currency for every purchase isn't particularly appealing to anyone who didn't fail history class.
