Man this one hit home not for me but for my wife's addiction. She was taking her prescription which was 172 Percocet's a month and would take them all in about a week in a half plus 60 valium and once she ran out she was spending upwards of $200-$1000 a week until her next refill. It was even getting to the point where she was buying suboxone from someone she met online. Her paranoia was off the charts spending thousands on background check sites like I was doing shady shit to her and calling me everyday accusing me of cheating. Finally January 2018 her paranoia got the best of her and she flipped out thinking someone was going to jump through my daughters Nintendo ds camera and rape her, she ended up hitting the panic button on our home alarm in which the cops came to our home. I asked them to evaluate her and they agreed she was not acting right and called the paramedics. After being in the ER for several hours a psychiatrist talked to her and myself and did a drug test on her and a couple hours later that same psychiatrist came back a laid into her calling her a drug addict. After failing to answer the psychiatrists questions she finally 5150 her and spent a week in a psych ward and then another 2 weeks in a rehab facility. During her rehab I found out that she was living a secret life on social media and had about 4-5 affairs which put me in a huge depression at the time .I ended up supporting her through her rehab and worked on trying to make things better. Fast forward to the start of COVID and the paranoia starts to kick back in and then she ends up having another affair and I break my hand in the process from punching a wall. The ER gave me Vicodin and she took them and took them all. My worry is my wife has a neurological disorder and suffers from chronic pain and that's how this all started and constantly talks about needing to get back on pain killers and I just don't get her mentality that she would feel the need or want to even go down that road again and lose her family. She has this victim mentality that it's everyone else's fault and not her own and it's a major struggle not only with me but her whole family. By the way congrats on kicking this ugly disease.

As someone with a physical disability and chronic pain I feel where you’re coming from. I actually believe I’m fortunate that I’m allergic to all opiates so cannot take any of that but I’ve felt the pain and the depression. What you did was something to be proud of. Recognising the addiction was particularly something to be be proud of and your comment about not being a drug dealer shows you were truly ready for change, not just a show. I e enjoys your videos for years Kevin and you (and your videos) were the reason I got into para hockey myself. I’m the only woman on my team and one of only two in my entire country who play. That can make things a little tough as we never know how we will be accepted (my team and league seem to accept me very well) and that can lead to significant anxiety… especially for someone who has been dealing with anxiety for years anyway. I know that sounds off track but my point is I’m so glad you overcame your addiction and suicidal ideation. I have no doubt you still struggle some days but you’re still here and you’re making a difference in many lives. Can’t wait to see more hockey skills and drills videos from you!! I've had 10 major surgeries in 2 years. I just got home today after cervical spinal surgery. I have been given oxycodone daily for a long time. I purposefully stop taking them for a week or so to make sure I am not hooked. I just deal with the pain. I think im going to get an implanted spinal stimulator to reduce my need for narcotics. Chronic daily pain is so tough - physically and mentally. Thanks for sharing your story!

I take these everyday for my Cerebral palsy I get really bad pain from it as I age there is not a problem taking these as prescribed. 7.5 taken 3 times a day no side effects I poo just find & sleep pain free. Take them how your supposed to & you will be fine.

That hurt so much seeing you flush those I wanted to literally, physically reach through my phone and grab them out of the toilet! Im an addict and I’m currently addicted to opiates. I absolutely fckin hate it and as much as I want to call you an idiot for flushing, that’s just the addict part of my brain. The other part, which is actually the majority of my brain, absolutely commends you for doing this because you never know who could’ve ended up with that bottle. Sure it could be someone who’s already addicted and it may have gotten them out of withdrawal and feeling better, as well as putting a few hundred $ in your pocket (easily from what I saw) but it also could’ve ended up in someones hands who may have just tried it for the first time and decided to buy their first batch of them. And believe me when I say all it takes for a beginner is that one bottle you just flushed & now they’re hooked. So good job super kudos to you! I hope I can once again get clean myself. I’m currently on my 5th relapse after 4 rehabs. I know another rehab stay is in my future and I’m not looking forward to it.

Thank you for this video ... I’m on a schedule of reducing my amount off milligrams. I knew I was addicted long time ago, but it made me feelhappy, great etc... I’ve got the oxycodon for pain after pulling a teeth. When I wanted to stop the pills after 2 weeks, I was getting pain in my shoulder for no reason. Used them 3 years. On my worse I was at 240 mg a day. Now I’m at 50 mg, but the last bit is the hardest of this whole rehab situation. Do you have any tips for me ?!
I had to quit cold turkey. That's what worked for me. The first 3-5 days were brutal, but once I got through that it was much easier to avoid taking any more.
what strength and how much were you taking? i usually take 1.5 pills of 10-325 before i head out to the gym. that usually helps take the edge off my pain.
I clapped when i saw you flush those evil things Ive been on them for over 13 years and am just about free, i did a very fast taper from 250mg down to 40mg in less than a week and made the final jump a few days ago, it sucked baaaad but im finally starting to feel better and it was worth the pain to be off them
@@AMPFIELDVISION you gotta be consistent with your dosage, I would recommend not doing it as fast as i did, go for slowly going down over the course of a full month, maybe 2 secure a daily dosage and dont deviate from that, then every 4 days or so crank it down a tiny amount and once you are down to about 1/6th of your original dose, make the plunge its going to be hard but this way will lessen it a lot, you gotta be fully committed to it im telling you though, its worth the pain, the only good thing about opiates is that you wont have permanent damage from them and can detox safely, it just sucks bad, but stick it through and know it wont last forever you will feel so accomplished when you get past it good luck man, im rooting for ya!
@@KevinRempel_ they were most likely 5's for you to be able to use Tylenol 3's as any type of substitute. Anything with acetaminophen aka Tylenol (325mg portion) in it is still the lower end of addiction, once you get out of those on pure opioid no Tylenol, that's the part where it becomes super hard. Both are hard but you know what I mean. Glad you did it tho!!
After all the lawsuits the only manufacturers are cheap generics like Aurobindo. The pain relief is minimal and the fillers and binders cause side effects like anxiety.
Thank you so much for this video. Without over exaggerating it absolutely means a lot, I was addicted for no reason knowing other people really need them and have real pain. Sure it was fun while it lasted but never had any regrets because at the end of the day anyone can leave it in the past where it belongs. In 2019 , after starting a strict diet I wean myself off methadone and stopped taking my prescription percocet 10 and Xanax 2 mg for 2 months, I never felt any better. Went to the toilet I threw away over 180 pills of percocet , 120 Xanax and a half litter bottle full of cherry methadone but the problem early this year I went back on percocet because of the severe pain I have on my lower back. I don't feel high from percocet anymore but I need a substitute ... I wish I have the will power I had on March 2019 everyday but i forget that I'm only human.
@@AMPFIELDVISION when I get lowered to 45 mg the clinic didn't want to get me any lower and since I used to pick it up once a month I start to lower myself by 5mg till I reached 5mg then I move the 40mg and fill the bottle with water and I sip small bit every day without looking how much I sip , after two weeks I checked the bottles and I noticed that I take less than 1 mg a day so that motivate me to quit and after 3 days I find little difficulty sleeping but didn't fill no withdraws and I continued for 2 months then called the clinic and told them that I'm off methadone for sure. I couldn't do it without the help of God, I used to pray everyday for patience and help...
It's hard because I recently broke my legs (3months ago) and I was given Percocet for the pain. Because of my profession I know the risk of opiate addiction. Being off work plus the accident plus life has me battling demons and the prescribed Percocet made it a little easier. When I ran out I've tried smoking again and it doesn't do it for me, alcohol doesn't do it for me.

That's not codeine. But you can get in the UK things like a really small dose of codeine - 8mg, with 200mg ibuprofen, called Nurofen plus. Or Solpadeine max which is 12mg codeine with 500mg paracetamol (acetaminophen in usa, or i think Tylenol). Used for pain thats a bit stronger than ibuprofen or paracetamol can't get rid of. Oxycontin/Oxycodone is a lot lot stronger, it's a strong opioid with very addictive qualities because it gives you a high and make's you feel relaxed
Suicide is a permanent solution to temporary problem, I agree. However I would like to point out that not all problems are temporary and there are people who are considering suicide due to never-ending chronic pain such as pudendal neuralgia. I am disappointed in today’s medicine.

Really? I’ve only taken them once when I was prescribed a bottle of 30 after injuring my neck. They were pretty weak compared to Percocet, if you ask me.
I lost my best friend from shooting himself in the head when I was 14 then I lost my cousin to a brain aneurysm and then I lost my uncle to sucicide and then I lost my grandma to stage 4 cancer I lost everything taking care of her I lost everything I had and had no money and then I watched her die and take her last breath and there’s so many more deaths that I’ve had to experience in my life I’m the black sheep in my family nothing but a fuck up I never went to drugs for my pain because I watched my whole family destroy themselves and just smoke there life completely away and I smoked weed ya and cigarettes wish my dad never got me on them but it is what it is last year I made a lot of money and I did the best I could for myself and just kept getting used by my own family and I have no friends any people I ever did just used my weakness as a way to get what they wanted out of me I got set up by a female and robbed at gunpoint for 15k cash and then to top it off my own mother stole 6k from me 3 days later and didn’t give 2 fucks If I had bills or if I even had a roof over my head now I’m addicted to fuckin pain killers I can’t stop I eat 9 maybe even 15 a day I’m intentionally hurting myself I had dry mouth from all the pills so now my teeth are fucked have a root canal and I honestly don’t know why I’m fucking even here if I don’t respond to any comments y’all know why

I’m surprised you were able to kick the OxyContin just by moving to Tylenol-3 for a few weeks. I’m guessing(?) you weren’t on more than a therapeutic dose. That’s fortunate, based on how horrific withdrawals can be.
Defiantly wasn't taking more then 3 a day if that. Plus he was taking percs so the Tylenol would have fucked him up after a while if he was always taking in high doses

As someone with a physical disability and chronic pain I feel where you’re coming from. I actually believe I’m fortunate that I’m allergic to all opiates so cannot take any of that but I’ve felt the pain and the depression. What you did was something to be proud of. Recognising the addiction was particularly something to be be proud of and your comment about not being a drug dealer shows you were truly ready for change, not just a show. I e enjoys your videos for years Kevin and you (and your videos) were the reason I got into para hockey myself. I’m the only woman on my team and one of only two in my entire country who play. That can make things a little tough as we never know how we will be accepted (my team and league seem to accept me very well) and that can lead to significant anxiety… especially for someone who has been dealing with anxiety for years anyway. I know that sounds off track but my point is I’m so glad you overcame your addiction and suicidal ideation. I have no doubt you still struggle some days but you’re still here and you’re making a difference in many lives. Can’t wait to see more hockey skills and drills videos from you!! Our training isn’t great here so I’ve relied on your videos to learn what I need to learn!! Care to put together a full para hockey camp via TH-cam videos? Lmao
I've had 10 major surgeries in 2 years. I just got home today after cervical spinal surgery. I have been given oxycodone daily for a long time. I purposefully stop taking them for a week or so to make sure I am not hooked. I just deal with the pain. I think im going to get an implanted spinal stimulator to reduce my need for narcotics. Chronic daily pain is so tough - physically and mentally. Thanks for sharing your story!

I absolutely fckin hate it and as much as I want to call you an idiot for flushing, that’s just the addict part of my brain. I’ve got the oxycodon for pain after pulling a teeth. When I wanted to stop the pills after 2 weeks, I was getting pain in my shoulder for no reason. Used them 3 years. On my worse I was at 240 mg a day. Now I’m at 50 mg, but the last bit is the hardest of this whole rehab situation. Do you have any tips for me ?!
I had to quit cold turkey. That's what worked for me. The first 3-5 days were brutal, but once I got through that it was much easier to avoid taking any more.

secure a daily dosage and dont deviate from that, then every 4 days or so crank it down a tiny amount and once you are down to about 1/6th of your original dose, make the plunge
its going to be hard but this way will lessen it a lot, you gotta be fully committed to it
im telling you though, its worth the pain, the only good thing about opiates is that you wont have permanent damage from them and can detox safely, it just sucks bad, but stick it through and know it wont last forever you will feel so accomplished when you get past it

@@KevinRempel_ they were most likely 5's for you to be able to use Tylenol 3's as any type of substitute. Anything with acetaminophen aka Tylenol (325mg portion) in it is still the lower end of addiction, once you get out of those on pure opioid no Tylenol, that's the part where it becomes super hard. Both are hard but you know what I mean. Glad you did it tho!!

Thank you so much for this video. Without over exaggerating it absolutely means a lot, I was addicted for no reason knowing other people really need them and have real pain. In 2019 , after starting a strict diet I wean myself off methadone and stopped taking my prescription percocet 10 and Xanax 2 mg for 2 months, I never felt any better. Went to the toilet I threw away over 180 pills of percocet , 120 Xanax and a half litter bottle full of cherry methadone but the problem early this year I went back on percocet because of the severe pain I have on my lower back. I don't feel high from percocet anymore but I need a substitute ... I wish I have the will power I had on March 2019 everyday but i forget that I'm only human.

@@AMPFIELDVISION when I get lowered to 45 mg the clinic didn't want to get me any lower and since I used to pick it up once a month I start to lower myself by 5mg till I reached 5mg then I move the 40mg and fill the bottle with water and I sip small bit every day without looking how much I sip , after two weeks I checked the bottles and I noticed that I take less than 1 mg a day so that motivate me to quit and after 3 days I find little difficulty sleeping but didn't fill no withdraws and I continued for 2 months then called the clinic and told them that I'm off methadone for sure. I couldn't do it without the help of God, I used to pray everyday for patience and help...

It's hard because I recently broke my legs (3months ago) and I was given Percocet for the pain. Because of my profession I know the risk of opiate addiction. Being off work plus the accident plus life has me battling demons and the prescribed Percocet made it a little easier. When I ran out I've tried smoking again and it doesn't do it for me, alcohol doesn't do it for me.

That's not codeine. But you can get in the UK things like a really small dose of codeine - 8mg, with 200mg ibuprofen, called Nurofen plus. Or Solpadeine max which is 12mg codeine with 500mg paracetamol (acetaminophen in usa, or i think Tylenol). Used for pain thats a bit stronger than ibuprofen or paracetamol can't get rid of. Oxycontin/Oxycodone is a lot lot stronger, it's a strong opioid with very addictive qualities because it gives you a high and make's you feel relaxed

My mouth dropped as them perks were going down toilet lol 😲 I’ve been on opiates 9 years, it all started because I had took a couple of them and realized I had massive amounts of energy and this was during a time I was going through depression so it took away the depression and gave me the motivation to clean my house and feel good, I would get them from friends use to be like I’d buy 4 of them during the week and save them till the weekend and take them over the weekend to clean my house and get stuff done, well I gradually over time started taking more and more until one day I was thinking my job and past drug addiction with meth years before all of that was catching up with me because I started to be in pain constantly and so I started needing them more and more and even started getting a script and just this year did I realize it wasn’t because of my job and working to hard or my past addictions that I already overcame it was because I was addicted to opiates and was having withdrawals from not having it in my system, it’s really bad when I don’t have them, I can’t function without it, so Monday I go to fill out an application for Suboxne, I know everyone says it’s just as bad but it’s controlled where I’ll only get so many a week and then it’ll go up, plus I tried a friend of mines sub to see if it was even something I wanted to do and a half of a pill lasted me all day, I felt good and had no cravings to eat more pills so it’s worth a shot, wish me luck, I pray everyone in this thread beats addiction and congratulations to the man who made this video and thank you for making this video 👍❤️🤎

I’m surprised you were able to kick the OxyContin just by moving to Tylenol-3 for a few weeks. I’m guessing(?) you weren’t on more than a therapeutic dose. That’s fortunate, based on how horrific withdrawals can be.
Defiantly wasn't taking more then 3 a day if that. Plus he was taking percs so the Tylenol would have fucked him up after a while if he was always taking in high doses
