@@lindamutch191 medical for all is not a bad idea other less well off countries do it too. When medical ins comes out of your paycheck it reduces your paycheck lol. Having it come out of taxes we all pay is a much better idea. Then they regulate it making it cheaper for everyone. Insulin shouldn’t be $1,000, EpiPens $800, etc. Doctors should not be allowed to say I don’t take your ins too. I needed a chiropractor for scoliosis after I broke my back he said he doesn’t take insurance and then tried to charge me $10,000 and I said who can afford that I sure as hell couldn’t. He was a scoliosis chiropractor no one should be turned away because they can’t afford medical services. Healthcare should be just for the rich people. We pay taxes and they squander the money on stupid sh-t why not use the money to help people. This is what I don’t understand less wealthy countries are doing it and it working there. My aunt in Italy got better lifesaving medical care compared to my aunt in the US. They both had huntingtons disease the aunt in Italy got better meds from the Vatican then my aunt in the US. My aunt in the US died while my other aunt in Italy is still alive and she was older too. She had better quality of life too. They didn’t get medical bills too. Use the tax money for saving people’s lives instead of BS crap that is wasting tax payers money too. People are afraid of change but my aunt got better healthcare in Europe compared to the US.

How are we going to fund universal healthcare for all? Is it through payroll? Is it a tax on every household? Are you going to touch the Pentagon budget? You just can’t create universal healthcare because we have private insurance companies and they are going nowhere. They are ingrained in the US economy for pity sake. So don’t dump on former Senator Claire McCaskill. She’s one of the few voices that I want to listen to on MSNBC.

In Australia we have a 'mixed' model. We have universal free healthcare - cradle to grave. It is paid by a 1.5% levy on everyone's tax. If you earn more than $200,000 it is 2% of your tax goes to pay for universal healthcare. If you want to get private insurance you can (people get it because it gives them some money back on dental and optical and a private room). I've never had it. You can have stents in your heart, extended cancer treatment, premature twins in hospital for months, whatever all free - and I've never heard a rich Australian complain about this.

Thank you for your video, Whimsy. For-profit healthcare often leads to inadequate or no coverage for many people. It’s outrageous that individuals face denied claims, outrageous deductibles and medication out of pocket fees. Recently, Anthem announced plans to limit reimbursements for anesthesia during surgeries and medical procedures in three states but later reversed the decision. Health insurance is a scam. We need laws prohibiting health insurance companies from operating for profit.

Many people do NOT sue for a variety of reasons: cultural, disabilities, lack of energy (particularly if you're suffering from poor health, depression et al), lack of resources (you need money to hire a lawyer), belief that the system won't help you (as evidenced by health insurance companies delaying and denying care), etc.

So UHC would hope that people would just give up and not appeal and they would get to keep their money. UHC has the highest denial rates of all insurance companies!!

We fared better under the PPO than the HMO, but I still had to file numerous appeals over things that should’ve been taken care of without the stress. We were left some bills that weren’t paid for at all by UHC. Other procedures we never were able to get because of their utilization shenanigans. I remember my neurologist received a verbal go ahead over the phone to do a nerve conduction test on my arm, only for UHC to snatch back that authorization by saying they never okayed it, after she did the test. …. Fortunately, none of us suffered life-threatening nor debilitating complications while on those plants. I think we were lucky. I could see why a person would become upset enough to want to do that.

So interesting...I got a very similar narrative on the cards...The hermit, that he had been in a loop thinking about this for a long time, that this might have been about a personal situation but that he decided to pursue this with a more "anti-establishment" motivation, going against the system as a whole (perceived justice for all those victims too), wanting to put out a message about the corrupt system. Also got him as the knight of swords, so very energetic, strong, unstoppable, like having gone to war. And also got that he will be caught, likely soon, possibly this weekend. I also got the nine of swords but interpreted it differently - like someone who knows him/is close to him and that that person is extremely worried/can't sleep bc of knowing what he's done...and that possibly that person will turn him in/give the tip that leads to him being caught/identifies him (maybe has already). I'm a complete "amateur" at this so found it really interesting that got similar intuitions. On another note, obv nothing justifies unaliving someone, justice should and I believe will be served. But also very glad to hear that this could have positive repercussions to all the victims of this company, its disgusting how health is "played with"/a business in the US. Thank you

I procrastinated choosing a Medicare provider, after consulting with a United Healthcare rep. It was tempting, and would have been the easy path, and free for the Advantage Plan. Wonder if there are any good choices out there.

Choose a medical plan to keep your Medicare and not let the insurance company control your health decisions.

Go with Original Medicare and get a supplement to cover the 20% co-pay. Your coverage decisions are then reviewed by Medicare not a private insurer. You can go to any doctor who accepts Medicare, even if you travel out of state. The doctors are A Medicare supplement is by a private insurer, and they’ll pay the co-pay as long as the procedure was covered by Medicare. It’s more expensive to go this way because you also are required to get a Part D separate drug plan. Stay away from Advantage plans if you can afford to do so. Medicare Advantage plans are privatized corporate Medicare.

Interesting how few are commenting about his insider trading. Ten million a year wasn't enough for him, he still had to sell his stock before the SEC investigation became public information in order to pocket many more millions? Why wasn't his security detail with him when he arrived at the Hilton? Shady all around.

UHC sucks they are getting sued by dept of justice for Medicare FRAUD. I had numerous issues with UHC. They wouldn’t pay for knee injections. They turned down mris and tests. They turned down desloratatine generic allergy meds and I had a history of anaphylaxis severe allergic shock level 5/6 allergy too. They turned down shingles ointment told me it was $250 too I had to buy it over the counter severe shingles. I was turned down for zopenex for nebulizer and I had double lung covid pneumonia too. My doctors had to do peer reviews for everything it was ridiculous. I broke my spine in 2021 and they would not authorize another scoliosis cast for me too, I had to scream and cry to supervisors and get peer reviews doctors saying it was medically necessary took 6 month by the time I got the cast the damage was already done. I am in permanent pain I had to multiple nerve blocks and radio frequency ablations in lumbar and si joint, I got worse and got sacrilitis. When you looked for a different doctor they gave listed of 60 doctors when only one doctor took the plan too. This happened to me when I was searching for a spine surgeon, and neurosurgeon too. It happened when I searched for physical therapist and dentist too. I made numerous complaints and they didn’t update the list of doctors at all. Go with another ins company they are a nightmare. I ended up switching out of frustration bc of lack of care. They are corrupt and they deny medically necessary testing.

I do not have a favorable opinion of United Health Care. I previously took care of my aging mother at home and there were problems with customer service
at this insurance company. I think that going back to standard Medicare and spurning privatized Medicare is best.

From Australia.... unfortunately the US is all about money ruling everything & not about its people. We've had universal healthcare here for years. Such a socialist thing to have So sorry for you guys that you have to worry about the cost of medical treatment. Very stressful. Doesn't make for a healthy society.
