  • The long awaited BRAND NEW section of the green corridor is open. I took the looooong trip out to Kanji MRT and walked along the green corridor to Hillview MRT.
    After getting sightly lost at the start I finally found my way onto the trail. Through trees and green, whilst still next to the road, I continued on until I got lost again.
    I found sections of the corridor hard to navigate and follow but after a few helpful hikers I was back on the right path.
    I didn't find this walking trail as nice as some of the other walks we've been on, and we've been on a lot, but I did enjoy being able to walk a long way in a new area with an accidental stop off at a shopping mall to get more drinks and snacks.
    Come along and see what you make of the new, sightly unfinished, green corridor section.

    Wow! That’s a wonderful journey. Without much assistance, you managed to overcome the confusing track entries and obstacles over some of the tracks under construction stages and dirty your track shoes on the stretches near Bukit Panjang with muddy tracks because of wet weather and finally ended up the video where there is a big toilet nearby for washing your legs at Hillview. Thumps up for the challenges. The subsequent journey downwards will be very smooth where all the tracks along the way will be very neat and straight as those tracks are already completed much longer ago. 22:36

      Hey there, thanks! As I said it’s not the easiest to navigate at the moment but I’m looking forward to it all being completed and will check it out again.

    You should try walking from the buona mrt to the end point which the Spooner road where you can see a preserved building used by the ktm back then. The best part is the path way layout is nice done. Very nice for walking just bring umbrella and of your own water supply enjoy.😊

    You know, my mind is blown that you're still finding interesting places in Singapore after 2 years. I've just come home after living long-term in the UK (even received the ILR), and was worried that I'd be bored returning to a country the size of zone 2 London. Guess I was wrong. We may not have the Peak district here, but really impressed by how the government has been opening these new green corridors and nature parks. If you do want to try something wilder, would recommend hiking in Johor -- many hills (Arung, Ophir, etc) can be done as a day trip.

      Welcome back! Thanks for taking the time to write a comment. We LOVE camping in the UK mountains and do wish Singapore had a couple but it’s got other things instead I guess. Going abroad to climb some sounds like a good idea though. Enjoy your time here again and happy exploring!

    Try it today almost get lost after ten Mile junction and trying walking towards Upper bukit timah Road and finally found a opening like the brown color gate and go back to the rail corridor walking to the buona vista mrt.The walking path not so nice as compared from buona vista to the end point.

      Yeah it’s not the easiest route to find and very little signage. Hopefully when it’s finished it will be easier to navigate.

    Thanks for taking us along this newish route, Millie. It’s the kind of walk I like to do too. Great fun and good exercise to burn off calories 😂. You had great weather after an uncertain start to the morning 😅. And yeah, the park connector walks are much more relaxing and invigorating as you don’t need to cross roads, breathe in car fumes and hear road noises.

      Hey kenzone! I think the walk after rain for be very muddy to navigate and quite slippery but I am glad it isn’t all paved actually. There is something nice about waking on the ground, even with the mud, that feels so nice.

      @@WONDERLUSTworld yes, totally agree. To feel the ground on your feet is nice; I like the gravel and dirt paths on the Rail Corridor, Coney Island and Sungei Buloh.

    How do you manage schooling? My family want to move over and noticed international schools are expensive. Any advice or recommendations?

    • @WONDERLUSTworld
      @WONDERLUSTworld  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there! Some companies offer incentives in terms of aiding with school fees so may be something to consider. The price can vary and it does depend on what type of school/ education/ curriculum you’re looking for. Local schooling could be an option perhaps?
