Thank you so much! The video was so well explained and helped me understand EU judicial review so easily when I was struggling to grasp these concepts.
Hi marcus just wanted to tell you I got my LLb and indeed did well in my EU law. exam. Thank so much for your great teachings. It was fab. I must have played yous sessions a lot of times. It go great to go into the exams with such great revision and notes. y are truly talented. best wishes Jan.
hey Marcus i always watch your videos and recently got an EXTRA 28% in my last exam just from using your videos truly a talent and you really are helping students out there well done and many thanks
no well done to you for helping me understand this EU Law a bit more as it is a heavy subject to grasp with the big terminology but you make it soo simple for anyone to understand and its just fantastic @@marcuscleaver
thank you so much this, it is so helpful. I am a distance student and receive no lectures or contact time at all so it is nice to have a change from purely reading!
hi there :) is there a specific number of infringement procedures the Commission can start? say they have already been through two infringement procedures, can they start another one? anyway, great video!! really helped me with my EU law course :)
That was really helpful, thank you for that. I have an issue with structuring essays could you cover structures in future videos along with your chosen topic. I hope you do more as I have another year left yet lol!
I'm doing EU Law coursework at the moment it's the last one of the year for us first year students. I believe we have Tort, Equity, Land law and a written piece of work like a mini dissertation left to do. We don't have the questions for the 2nd year coursework yet well I don't think we do. But how would you structure an essay for this EU law coursework?
+Sunnie hmm well I would start by briefly describing what the procedure is under art 258/259 and then analysing how effective it is before describing art 260 and talking about how useful that enforcement mechanism is. The approach you take is very dependent on how your uni marks the work but most lecturers like to see a lot of analysis so concentrate on the second half of my lecture.
Thank you I will give it a go, any tips on writing the mini dissertation would be great as I know some full time students who are struggling with it. :)
Thanks so much for your videos - super helpful !! Brief question: are Articles 258 and 259 basically competing with direct effect ? I.e. whether the Individual is quicker to go to his/her national court versus the Commission/MS going to the ECJ? Thanks in advance.
so to confirm, articles 278 and 279 don't actually have anything to do with article 258 as article 258 isn't contesting a law made. if anything articles 278 and 9 complement article 263, right?
marcus how does the penalty levy differ from the lump sum levy... does the court usually award a 'series' of penalty payments in the event that say a Directive is not adequately implemented? ps great series of mini-SOLVIT videos available here: ec.europa.eu/solvit/index_en.htm pps here's a great piece on what is sometimes called the 'nuclear option' (Article 7): theconversation.com/article-7-sanctions-a-legal-expert-explains-the-eus-nuclear-option-81724?
Thanks a lot for the video Marcus, what percentage of the essay do you think should be focused on the critical analysis and how much should be on regurgitating the whole procedure?
+Liam Ridings Should definitely be mainly focused on the analysis as this is where your marks come from. Hard to put an exact figure on it as every essay is different but 80:20 in favour of analysis is what I would aim for.
2023, And you're still the only guy I found that makes EU law seem intresting!

+marcuscleaver if you can add any revision tips for exams that would be awesome! We are studying criminal, public, eu and contract law.
I found this very helpful - thank you! Are you doing a similar lecture on Free Movement of Persons/citizenship?

for the 95% of cases resolved at informal enqiry stage, which cases are these?
Thanks king! Highly appreciate it!!!
No probs boss.

Penalty payments are a daily rate that Member States are fined until they sort a problem out. Thanks for the links; SOLVIT is awesome!
Once again The Boy Genius
Do we have to worry about this coming for Eu examination?
is everything in this video still applicable?
Can you please post a tutorial for domestic violence (family law) if possible
Thanks chief
