      Hmm, I do want to give credit where it is atleast due to pursue objectivity on these controversial issues. He did atleast acknowledge the positive points Rafe made at the start of the video, so he showed he can atleast listen to and respond to points. An error in his way of thinking is exposed afterward however, in which he pushes all those positive things aside to focus primarily on negative things, unwilling to see balance between them. And at the end he particularly showed his hand, in which Rafe told him to do more research at the broader context because he's quite certain he's incorrect in his perspective, but instead he just says: "The quote speaks for itself." In that instance he showed he was unwilling to perceive anything outside of what he's already decided is correct, and that no-one telling him otherwise can change his mind. We'll see if maybe a seed can be planted here to change his mind in the future, but he's showing a more religious spirit in his beliefs than one that looks for truth.

    • @boomguitarjared
      @boomguitarjared 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @patrino I would heavily question the notion that the British thought of themselves with the racial connotations the activist is pushing onto them, as cultures used to be far more homogeneous, in which when one would mention an ethnicity, it was more of an association with their various cultures than a purely racial context like the race marxists say today.
      There is no doubt in my mind Churchill ahnd muhch of England had a superiority complex compared to the rest of the world, but I question how much of that was a racial perspective. It looks far more likely to me to be primarily afeeling of cultural superiority than having muhch to do with the racial perspectives talked about today.

    My grandmother admired Churchill. She expressed he helped the citizens of this country believe that defending this island was possible, when countries had already fallen, and Britain stood on its own. She would be horrified to see what is happening to this country, and how ungrateful those enjoy our democracy trash this country at every opportunity. She was the generation that saw sacrifices made and loss great. @shadowbanned1999 There's a thread of truth in there, but only that.
      Hitler didn't expect the Brits and French to act when he invaded Poland, and when they did he expected to be able to force the British to accept a negotiated deal, as he did with the French. Ultimately, he wanted to push East, and did not want an open Western front at the same time.
      However, due to lack of naval and air superiority, he couldn't invade the UK, so he settled for a strategy of regular bombing and a fortified coast in France to hem the Brits in, hoping to keep them there till he won his war in the East, enabling him to gather enough resources to be able to turn his attention back to the British at a later date. In effect, he placed the British Isles under siege.
      So yes, it's true to say he didn't want to fight Britain, at that particular moment in time. He wanted them out of it so he could plunder Europe uninterrupted.

    When Churchill said the Red Indians of America and the Black people of Australia, he was being specific, not racist. He wasn't talking about Indian immigrants to America, or the British settlers of Australia.
    In today's vernacular we would say something like native Americans or indigenous Australians. But the term 'natives' was slightly pejorative for the times, so perhaps he didn't want to use those terms.
    But he wasn't being racist in today's sense. He was referring to the way things _were,_ not how they could be. He wasn't making the claim that Indians or Aboriginals were incapable of creating or participating in a higher order civilisation. Just that they hadn't made one, therefore it is no crime to take over and create one.

It's also also questionable how the Dutch, Portuguese or even the French would have treated with the Mughal Empire, and considering their track record in other Colonies British is still considered the lesser evil in the Indian continent and ended the Caste and Slavery systems, mostly of Hindus by the Muslims, alongside bring a standardised Legal and Education system. India has also prospered by the compensation that UK paid aid to India (2.3b last year). repayment of loans, the social infrastructure that is still in use today and also by being a Commonwealth Member. First, it would be a very poor commander who let his troops starve to make a small dent on a massive population (and based on the modern world, would be hijacked and profited off by someone) but,
    Second is the bid one, the insane claim that India never had anyone die of famine before the British arrived. My degree had multiple weeks on how a famine basically drove Buddhism out of India by collapsing their university system, leaving aside that the claim is a farce on the face of it…

The same thing is happening here in the states. The left is taking over control and the freedoms that both countries fought for so valiantly to protect is WW2 are being taken away. It's happening a bit at a time, so the people continue to accept incremental the loss of freedoms and continue to vote into power those who are diminishing freedom.
