The funny thing about Brim is that when you actually use it abroad there is a hidden fee. I was in Italy and needed cash. I pulled it out of an Italian ATM at the exact same time that I pulled money out with my RBC WestJet card. In fact, by the time they were both converted to Canada, the RBC card was a lower exchange rate. I'd like to see one of these reviews sometime that actually verifies foreign costs as I expect that there is some legalize way that Brim can claim no fees.
I love this video....... I also used the Rogers Elite card as my primary card for everything but since they downgraded the card, I don't use it anymore ( Minimum spend, 1.75% to 1.5% CB and 2.5% foreign transaction fee from all currency to USA currency only. My Primary card now is the Scotia Gold AMEX for 5 X Groc and Rest ( I opened up a Scotiabank Ultimate and keep $5000. with emergency funds to waive the fee) and I use Tangerine WE as a back up if AMEX is not accepted ...........
It’s a big issue my big 3 go to cards are Amex plat vanilla, world elite BMO cash back and BMO visa infinite, they all have a fee for foreign transactions. The whole FX needs organization in CANADA!!
Well, the MBNA amazon card charges 2.5% but you get 2.5% back if you are a prime member netting 0%. If you aren't a prime member its only 1% for a 1.5% net charge. Because of this some of the other cards I thought was better for no foreign transactions
The Home Trust Visa will not waive the fees when you are shopping online, be advised ⚠️🚨
oh wow

Agreed! Most cards in Canada have a 2.5% foreign fee...right now I use the HSBC world elite, pretty happy with it
@@tonywang7778 it is a very good card but I’ll be looking for options in states for low FX fee cards.
I know it’s complicated.
is it true that amazon mastercard is a no foreign transaction as well?
