I need to visit my family In Armenia. Gumretsi is my dads ancestry. I love and cook Armenian food. My grandmother ate brains and my mom cooked tongue before priced skyrocketed. It is delicious!

Beef tongue is considered a delicacy in Russia and neighboring states... I never seen it on a menu in US restaurants but it is available in US supermarkets... for about $40 a pound ($80 a kilo)

Matt's dad used to buy tongue as a treat. I was so surprised with the texture and flavour of it to be honest!

Much of Armenian lands are occupied by the Ottoman Turks (the current country of Turkey) and the people of Aaran who have adopted the fake name (1918) of Azerbaijan for their fake country. Ottomans and Azeris have money and guns, so for now they are prevailing in depriving Armenians from reuniting its people and lands. Throughout history Armenia has existed as a fierce nation with a big heart.

Once I tried the fruits in Armenia, it ruined it for me here in the states. 😆
Even walking through Yerevan, there are fruit trees with the fruits just pouring off of them. Lots of mulberries. People just reach out and grab them while walking. Its really cool.
Matt tongue does not have the consistency of liver, NO WAY! It is the most tender meat out there. When it comes to the Brain. If had it before in Tacos and its mushy. I could only eat 2 tacos of Brain.
The brain was surprisingly nice. I always thought liver is very tender if cooked right 🤷♂️

I REALLY enjoy seeing all the different places you visit and their individual customs!! Watching you trying cow’s tongue, cheek and then the brain (when I noticed that I had that look of horror on my face 😧) made me realise that not eating the whole animal is actually wasteful. It just that we don’t eat these things normally. Offal 🫢. Reminds me of school dinners and the lady telling me I had to eat the liver which was horrible, all those tubes and that taste, put me off for life 🤢
