- Does fabric stiffening spray work on crocheted sun hat brim? I am sharing/showing in this video on how I applied it. I am pleased with the result.

I made this hat (minus beads and flower) in Lion Brand 24/7 cotton yarn in "aqua" blue with 4mm hook for a friend. It's beautiful! However, for a more sturdy, long-lasting stiffer brim, I recommend adding 19 gauge millinery wire. Thanks for the easy to follow tutorials!!!
Sounds beautiful. It's my pleasure to share. I have not tried using that wire. But I would love to try it too. I also tried used using 18 gauge galvanized wire. It also work.

I saw someone also use a method called “milk bath” on a bucket hat. You can search TH-cam but it’s basically a mixture of modpodge and water. It worked really well and didn’t change the color of the hat like I thought it would.

Love the hat and also the flower for the hat. You could also use liquid starch and block the hat on cardboard. Love the pearl accent on the brim. Lady from Texas.

Excellent video thank you for the detailed instructions and the demonstration. My friend gave me a witches hat, but she bought an Etsy. It’s very expensive. She didn’t even want to tell me the price I’m guessing that’s over $40. She donated it to event on the table and I decided to get it it up. It was very fluffy and boring and I don’t think people realize it was a witches hat it was crochet. Yet if it doesn’t have the pointed hat and a flopping around your face, it’s not very fun I can’t wait to try this on my new black witch 🧙🏽♀️ hat

Wait, why didn't you flip it over, spray and press the base side of the brim? It should improve the firmness of it I am guessing.
I'm curious though, if you wash the hat or get it wet then wouldn't the spray wash away too?

Hello, I haven't try it on the worsted yarn yet. But this hat is more stiffer with worsted yarn especially red heart.

Hello, Try to check a store that sells fabric or sewing stuffs or crafts store. You can also use a wire or stiff plastic cord on one round to stiffen the hat's brim.
