I'm 45 and I started skating again late last year (2014) after about a 20 yr. break. I already slammed on my upper thigh/hip and I broke my wrist or tore a ligament in it. I've probably spent more time healing than skating. However, I want to keep doing it! Have faith in Jesus Christ, keep skating, it's alright to hurt for skating, and just do you!

I really love the Nash love in this episode. Saw him do a lip slide over the channel to smith grind at The Rumble in Ramona years back and I was watching from the deck and it was beautiful. I bummed a smoke from Grosso (which he graciously provided) and saw him loudly heckle Nash into doing a textbook Texas plant which made the crowd cheer like crazy when Nash did one (which he stuck first try like the boss he is) cuz everybody could hear Grosso yelling "TEXAS PLANT!" when Nash was skating. It's an awesome memory. Skateboarding rules :)

Jeff, I love the letters! You haven't skated in 5 months? It's been 5 years for me, I was getting back into skating after about a 10 year hiatus. I was having a blast and getting pretty damn good again. You and I are about the same age. I dove into a swimming pool and broke my neck. I'm now in a wheelchair and miss skating everyday. Your show brings so many memories back for me, I love it. You were always one of my favorite pros in the mid 80's. Keep up the great work!

Great Show. I have watched everyone of them and look forward to each new episode. Thats a bummer that Jeff is layed up, hope to see him healed and shredding soon . the 80s and early 90s are the best. the videos were way better than they are now. the boards look awesome and are way more fun to ride than some boring Popsicle.
He's right. Style is most important when it comes to skateboarding. Better to be able to do 5 tricks and look good doing them than 50 tricks if you look like a robot. I see lots of people doing hard tricks when I'm out skating but only a few make it look fluid and stylish.

I'm 26 and I've never done a tre-flip down a 6-stair or on flat ground for that matter and I really don't give a shit. I still got more style going down the street to the liquor store than any other snot nose kid on the block. Fck all those people saying that you need to know certain tricks to be a skateboarder. Been doing it for 15 years and still have fun. Even if it's just going to the store.
I'm another 26 year old and skated since I was 8. Fuckin played baseball all through college, actually went to college on a baseball scholarship, as soon as I was done at 22 went and bought a brand new setup. Now I'm in nursing school and still skate 2-4 times a week when I can and I still fuckin love it. I'm actually better now than I ever was. I hate what skating has turned into, I hate the kids I hate the parents, hate the pros, hate the sponsors. Fucking epitome of a love hate relationship. I'll skate till I can't walk anymore. I feel you on the love bud. *pound it*

+abbik I got my first skateboard in 77, it was a pine board with Chicago trucks and wheels, no grip tape about 16 inches long, no one told me what mongo was, I had to skate that way because the road I lived on was so rocky, People can talk crap all their life but they don;t get paid for it. Inspirational, I'm 62 and skating again on my concrete ramps every night on a carver barefoot. Live in Mexico surf most every morning our uncrowded pandemic point. Are carvers uncool? It's hard to be cool with gray hair.
