I'm new to Grand Archive but not new to TCGs and after looking over all the decks, I tried to make Water Arisanna. I did my first store tourney, went 0-3, and all of those games went pretty much how this game went. Almost to a tee.
In theory, all of the combos are there and Starcalling feels like my favorite mechanic, but the RNG has not blessed me yet. I can keep tweaking it, and I feel like I'm a smart enough player to eventually make it viable, but it feels like the sturggle to stay alive long enough to make Starcalling work is an uphill battle.
This was a really fun watch and it felt reassuring to see that I wasn't playing my deck incorrectly, that other people playing Arisanna felt the same struggle. At the first store tourney, when I said I was playing Arisanna everyone had the same reaction: "Ooh, good luck." And when I showed folks my deck after, everyone had very minor suggestions or asked if I'd heard of specific cards, but in general the feeling was I'd made it the right way, but it was just simply a matter of RNG.
I'll stick with it, wish me luck.
