Zedd was Epic. This episode was Epic, the music in that scene was Epic lol. After Zedd came in he made the show much more interesting. People are so surprised when I tell them Rita wasn't my favorite villain lol.....She is iconic but not the best.
Even as a kid watching this I could pick up on so much. Like how the Command Center seemed to resist Zedd's entrance. And of course the baller move of bringing the throne as well. And I have seen the sentai series this part of Power Rangers came from and it is actually really impressive how much restructuring they did from the original material. That team only had five members and white rather then pink. Also they got the Shogun Zords first and the ninja zords later. So by giving the rangers the ninja zords first they were able to say the white crane was pink and then take the pink ranger out and say the shogun zords were long lost zords so they didn't need to fit neatly into the six member team structure.
Season 3 was crazy. It was basically a blender. You had the Zyuranger suits for the main five, Kibaranger's suit from Dairanger, and the mecha footage from Kakuranger.

Every other time a villian managed to enter the Command Center/Power Chamber they deliberately messed the place up. But the fact that when Zedd came the most damage he did to the place was due to him just entering when he could have done so much more is a power move if I ever saw one.
Everyone keeps talking about how badass Zedd is but I also have to point out how badass Zordon is here. I mean everyone else is terrified of Zedd but Zordon is just "I havent got all day get on with it".

Hey man I agree with you. I was a kid when The Power ranger era was awesome in the 90's'. I remember loving Zedd, I mean. That's what I heard and read was all. At least, his comedic timing wasn't horrible. When they did the play off Goldar and himself that was awesome. Goldar: I'm the strongest warrior of all. Zedd: I can't believe he just said that.. Classic lol. I think during that time, there were bad blood problems behind the scenes with the actors and stuff, because that was right around the time they were doing the ranger transfer and everything. Power Rangers was like the only thing that didn't freak me out as a kid lol
Zedd and Goldar had been having funny moments from the beginning of season 2. Zedd had a few funny moments with Rito as well, but in the middle of season 3 I think they made him too cartoony...

You know, if Lord Zedd makes a comeback in the sequel of the new PR movie, he should look a lot like in the series and be the perfect villain. After this dark and gritty Rita that gave us some bloody scenes, a sadistic and psychopathic Lord of Darkness that came from the depths of space to destroy.
Zeed was also the coolest looking villain as well as being the most badass. I was worried when they first toned him donw and teamed him with Rita, but as this shows it still managed to work out well and he was still scary & evil. Rita & the minions added some lighthearted comedy to the darkness of Zedd, which I think made PR better for the kids. One thing though - Zedd is meant to be some mighty conqueror, where is his army he used to take over so many places?
Zedd to me ain't the best villain but man when he came to kick behind he make sure they get the message that the stuff is over and that's their doom. When Zedd says you will pilot my new fleet of Zords you know you messed up and stuff got bad. When you just beat someone you don't like and got them cornered call Zedd with that line and its done.
Best PR villain = Lord Zedd Best PR villainess = Rita Repulsa Best PR hench-villain = Goldar No-one ever beat those three in those roles (though Rito Revolto wasn't a bad hench-villain)!
To me Lord Zedd is in the top 5 coolest looking villains. Even though I wish the forehead spike didn't have that stupid 'Z' on it (it's redundant with the staff) he still looks very intimidating, and his body language screams 'I'm a badass and I know it!'. A shame he was somewhat neutered by parental complaints. Then again, it was primarily a kid's show.

I was a kid, ten years old when Mighty Morphin Power Rangers came out but Lord Zedd never frighten me. I thought he was so cool and bad ass as the Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I hated they toned him down immensely and made him more comical. And hated they brought back Rita Repulsa and made both of them marry. They even toned down the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles after their first movie. Man I have to say parents in the 90s and even today are so straight down ignorant, stupid and censorable about everything especially video games. It's ridiculous. MMPR S1 (at a degree) & S2, Zeo, In Space, Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue and Time Force were the best seasons of the series including Wild Force, Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder and RPM. The newest seasons, Samurai/Super Samurai and Megaforce/Super Megaforce are okay. Can't wait to see Tommy return for a cameo guest appearance in Super Megaforce's finale. Astronema is the second best villain and she was sure hot. Lol. I would have been happy if she married Lord Zedd instead of Rita if she was introduced in MMPR S2 before she appeared in Power Rangers In Space. Lol

@XxComablackxX1937 Lord Zedd, Astronema, Rita Repulsa, Prince Gasket and Princess Archerina are my favorite Power Rangers villains. I even love Goldar and Rito Revolto (Rita's brother). They kind of remind me of Bebop and Rocksteady from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They were pretty hilarious on Zeo especially when they became Bulk and Skull's pets/servants. Lol.
Actually he I like how it worked out writing wise. When he was by himself he was cocky and kinda dumb sometimes to the point he's just like Rita before she comes back. To balance out him becoming a joke they actually had him win a few times, making both stronger monsters with Rita and only not trying to take over the world again because they just didn't feel like bothering with the Rangers anymore rather than keep fighting till dead unlike other villains besides Divatox and Ransick
Exactly! Her victory only came because Goldgoyle served as her hired mercenary. She didn't earn that at all. Heck, she doesn't even go into the center, Elgar does instead. The only times she comes close to victory are when her mother, her brother, or the aftermentioned mercenary offered her assistance. To put it simply, she kicked them while they were already down.

As a kid, I hid under the covers seeing this part. Lord Zedd's presence in the Command Center was terrifying.

You probably are not aware of this but Power Rangers have 19 seasons now and are still on the air. All the seasons are even now available on Netflix except the latest current season, Power Rangers Samurai which is on Nickelodeon.

So, why didnt Zedd just lay waste to the Command Center and eliminate Zordon, Alpha and the Power Rangers in one swift stroke? Well, for once, it wasnt about destroying them, but dominating them, using Kimberly as bait and blackmail.

I was a kid, ten years old when Mighty Morphin Power Rangers came out but Lord Zedd never frighten me. I thought he was so cool and bad ass as the Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I hated they toned him down immensely and made him more comical. And hated they brought back Rita Repulsa and made both of them marry. They even toned down the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles after their first movie. Man I have to say parents in the 90s and even today are so straight down ignorant, stupid and censorable about everything especially video games. It's ridiculous. MMPR S1 (at a degree) & S2, Zeo, In Space, Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue and Time Force were the best seasons of the series including Wild Force, Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder and RPM. The newest seasons, Samurai/Super Samurai and Megaforce/Super Megaforce are okay. Can't wait to see Tommy return for a cameo guest appearance in Super Megaforce's finale. Astronema is the second best villain and she was sure hot. Lol. I would have been happy if she married Lord Zedd instead of Rita if she was introduced in MMPR S2 before she appeared in Power Rangers In Space. Lol
Astronema was awesome, and her original Karone persona is my favourite female ranger.

When i was a kid probably 5 at this point. This scene scared the fuck out of me. I thought Zed was give the rangers all the smoke.

Lord Zedd, Astronema, Rita Repulsa, Prince Gasket and Princess Archerina are my favorite Power Rangers villains. I even love Goldar and Rito Revolto (Rita's brother). They kind of remind me of Bebop and Rocksteady from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They were pretty hilarious on Zeo especially when they became Bulk and Skull's pets/servants. Lol.

Actually he I like how it worked out writing wise. When he was by himself he was cocky and kinda dumb sometimes to the point he's just like Rita before she comes back.
To balance out him becoming a joke they actually had him win a few times, making both stronger monsters with Rita and only not trying to take over the world again because they just didn't feel like bothering with the Rangers anymore rather than keep fighting till dead unlike other villains besides Divatox and Ransick

Exactly! Her victory only came because Goldgoyle served as her hired mercenary. She didn't earn that at all. Heck, she doesn't even go into the center, Elgar does instead. The only times she comes close to victory are when her mother, her brother, or the aftermentioned mercenary offered her assistance. To put it simply, she kicked them while they were already down.
