The Dark Ranger outfits and duct tape on Zedd's staff is peak comedy. It's also funny how the bullies are supposed to be all scary when even Billy is jacked enough to kick their asses alone. Lol.
Oh yeah people forget Billy this time had come into his own he started becoming more confident in his fighting ability and Powers. He went from being this geek who needed Kimberly and trini o help them to the point where was the IT guy for the Power Rangers and helping Zordon developing new gear and weapons

It was the early-to-mid '90s. They still were holding on to a couple of 1980's stereotypes when it came to rude jerks and bullies. Nothing about "evil", just them trying too hard when it came to portraying him as a dillhole. x)
They didn't even get the colors right! The Black Ranger is gray and the Pink Ranger is orange! I recall seeing this as a kid and being so disappointed that the two groups don't fight.
The main reason for this is because, according to stunt coordinator Jeff Pruitt, there were plans for a fight but the idea was scrapped due to the low quality of the Dark Ranger suits as the crew imagined and the fact that they were repainted from some Z-putty suits.
What actually makes the true FAILURE that was the Dark Rangers subplot somehow even worse is just how much Zedd actually sold this as if this was something to be taken seriously. He prattles on and on, like a good supervillain does, arrogantly shouting about his certain victory while standing in front of... THOSE. The entire thing was a swing and a miss in every possible way. This SHOULD have been something to see! Instead, it's really, "you've gotta see it to make sure you really did see it." Such a shame, this could have been a fantastic ongoing storyline, especially had they given the Dark Rangers the Dairanger suits, but... SOMETHING had to have happened at the very last minute here to let THIS happen.
It's almost like they're like alternate or evil versions of Jason, Billy, Zack, Trini and Kimberly but they didn't have an alternate or evil version of Tommy

Jason being who he is definitely had the most of his him being the leader kind of puts him in a situation where he's very competitive and all about being the best can definitely bring out the dark side of him. Kim being very Vain and being kind of the valley girl. Zack mostly been flirtatious with women being more flamboyant and being more of a center of attention personality. Billy being very smart and very intelligent can make him very aloof but also can make them very much obsessed with just being about science and trying to use it for the betterment of society but in current can corrupt him. Plus can being very intelligent also tends to lends to being sociopathic. Trinis the most pure-hearted range of them all. She seemed like almost the ranger that got along with everybody and was able to understand each one of them. She had that personality that she even embraced Tommy in his earlier days when he not every Ranger was totally okay with him becoming the Sixth Ranger due to his past.

Anyone of the rangers by themselves would have mopped the floor with those punks. Those punks were fake tough they had to gang up on weak people in order to be any kind of tough. I remember Tommy when he 1st came out. The fact he tied Jason in karate match when jason was the strongest fighter among the rangers says volumes about Tommy as a adversary. Rock, Adam, and Aisha they were also not to be messed with since they won a martial arts tournment and would become the rangers replacements.
What's more, if Zedd could've teleported the power rangers somewhere any time he wished, why didn't he just teleport them into space or into the sun or something?

The only thing that ever really scared me in Power Rangers was when that flower monster was able to spit out tons of flowers which would fly through the air, latch onto people and gradually weaken people while biting into them, sapping their strength while making savage sounds. ;*(
Looking back at this, they had multiple opportunities to introduce the Dairanger suits into MMPR but they let each time go to waste. The Mutiny, this episode, The Power Transfer need I go on? I mean heck you could say that Zedd knew a long-forgotten secret about the origin of the Thunder Zords and harnessed something from said secret, creating all-black versions of the Dairanger suits. At the same time, maybe strip away the Thunder Zords’ ability to transform from the original Dinozords, therefore being able to use the original Megazord and not let the Zyu2 footage go to waste. After his control over those kids is broken, the suits would be restored to their real colors and either A) make this team of kids owners of those new powers, or B) they turn into the Lai Lai Jewels from Dairanger and scatter across Angel Grove, setting up a quest for the Power Transfer. The sword alone is not enough. They need the five jewels AND Tommy’s powers in order to activate their true potential. In order to obtain them, they must fight against previously unused monster from Dairanger. Boy this makes me wish I could travel back in time.
I liked the idea of the Dark Rangers, but I hated the costumes. It's like they basically put no thought into them and essentially created cheap looking uniforms, which I think I can safely say that's exactly what they did. And they never even fought the Rangers, so it was really a completely cheap and wasted plot line that in the big scheme of things and I use the term loosely, didn't measure up and served very little if any purpose at all to the show.
Looking back, I hated how they dumbed down on Zedd's evilness to make him more kid friendly. He's still by far my favorite Power Ranger villain hands down

Fong Moua - fun fact: David Yost was a talented gymnast in real life at the time, was the oldest of the original six cast members (he was 22 when they filmed the first season) and actually auditioned for and won the role of Jason but switched to Billy as he felt the character was a better fit. In season one, they hid Yost's athletic frame by giving Billy the habit of wearing baggy overalls but as the series progressed, and as it was explained that Billy began martial arts training to keep up with the others, they stopped doing that.

I know most of you didn't like the Dark Rangers costume designs and I agree they look a little poor looking in design wise but maybe they should have at least give them actual helmets with a cool looking designs on them like the Rangers have on their helmets but still the Dark Rangers concept was a decent idea but could've given the costumes a bit more effort.
Saban should have use either the Goggle V, the Dynaman, the Maskman, the Turboranger, or the Fiveman suits for the Dark Rangers instead of the Dairanger suits because if they wanted to use the Dairanger suits for the Dark Rangers, they have to make a Black version of the ShishiRanger suit instead of repainting the actually ShishiRanger suit black.

In the winter of 1995, Marvel Comics did an issue of the Power Rangers comics where Lord Zedd did a second attempt at his Dark Rangers upon secretly gathering the energy of the old Dino Coins and rebuilding the Thunderzords. Lord Zedd gathered his Dark Rangers from around the world due to Angel Grove having a small crime talent pool. The second Dark Rangers consisted of a bully from Zimbabwe, a looter from Japan, an avaricious man from the United States of America, a gang member from Columbia, and a pickpocket from France.

Fong Moua - fun fact: David Yost was a talented gymnast in real life at the time, was the oldest of the original six cast members (he was 22 when they filmed the first season) and actually auditioned for and won the role of Jason but switched to Billy as he felt the character was a better fit. In season one, they hid Yost's athletic frame by giving Billy the habit of wearing baggy overalls but as the series progressed, and as it was explained that Billy began martial arts training to keep up with the others, they stopped doing that.

I know most of you didn't like the Dark Rangers costume designs and I agree they look a little poor looking in design wise but maybe they should have at least give them actual helmets with a cool looking designs on them like the Rangers have on their helmets but still the Dark Rangers concept was a decent idea but could've given the costumes a bit more effort.

It's like the classic Power Rangers bumped into the 2017 Power Rangers.
Saban should have use either the Goggle V, the Dynaman, the Maskman, the Turboranger, or the Fiveman suits for the Dark Rangers instead of the Dairanger suits because if they wanted to use the Dairanger suits for the Dark Rangers, they have to make a Black version of the ShishiRanger suit instead of repainting the actually ShishiRanger suit black.
