Also I can see the struggle with you trying to understand north viet when you’re south viet. Growin up close with my mom who is from the south and then trying to communicate with my dad side who’s from the north, struggles.

OKAY FIRST OF ALL! GIRLLLL! Just imagine living in a beautiful city, and suddenly Mai Pham passes you by, and then immediately starts to be friends & hang out. This is my second favorite vlog EVER. This and the Costa Rica one! Literally the most wholesome content i've ever witnessed. The fact that even on my broke days i can count on this girl, to let me in her world and travel with her, it's the best type of comfort i have ever had in life. I feel like we should deserve the love that all the other islands get because our views, food, etc are just as amazing as the other Hawaiian islands. omg i really love seeing mai in vietnam. i just went to taiwan, where my family is from, and then japan with a friend who grew up in tokyo but left when she was seven. i feel similarly that there were so many things in taiwan that were familiar to me, and the language i can speak it but not at an expert level, and it's so cool to experience that but also see my japanese friend and mai go through the same thing in their home countries ❤
