I'm surprised to learn about the Rise working that well for you. It's a high drop, 36/26 rear/front stack distribution shoe and yet it worked miracles for you as a forefoot striker. The other model, Supernova Prima has been recently released and it's supposed to better suite FF striking runners. Anyway, happy to hear you're enjoying it immensely.
The Prima has too much foam. I don’t want that much foam under foot for a trainer. Plus drop doesn’t really bother me me. I run in shoes 0-10mm with no issues. Though I prefer 6-8 generally.
As you’ve mentioned in past videos, a shoe like the Supernova Rise should not exist in 2024. Every shoe brand has become, more is better. More is not better for all runners and glad that Adidas is going a different route. I ordered a pair in your colorway that was on sale for 20% off. Can’t wait to try them out alongside the SL2, also ordered in the Lucid Lemon/Core Black colorway.
I like Adidas firm sensation in general. I found this shoe through your channel, and now it's stacked around 50 miles. I have to second that this is my favorite daily trainer and commute. This week, Supernova Prima is out and on its way. I would use Prima as a daily outfit shoe.
This shoe massively surprised me. Easy runs, long runs - just eats them up. I use Adizero Pro 3, Takumi Sen 10 alongside this. Waiting on Adios 9 for non-plated tempo and intervals. The Germans have got me!! Not sure if SL2 fits in here but will be interested in your thoughts.
I'm depending on the same core rotation...SNR/TS10/AP3... and waiting on both the A9 and AP4. Once I can get the SL2 I'll be making quite a bit of content on it. My current though is the SL2 vs SNR isn't and either.or, rather it is complimentary and really depends on what you need. I'll also be doing some adidas rotation videos once the A9 and AP4 are out. Stay tuned.
@@SagasuRunning How long did you find it took to break in this shoe to get it running optimally? I'm a newer runner that's tried a lot of shoes in search of the daily trainer that works best for me and so far, the only one that's been good for me from day 1 has been the Asics Gel Cumulus 25.
I am starting in running and have just had my first run on these. 10km and perfect since the beginning. When I finished they even felt better and softer, very protective. I like them more than novablast 4 TR. More stable for me (neutral) both on the heel and the forefoot and more space for my big toe.
I just ran my second run in these. Really underrated shoe, perfect balance of soft and responsive (at lease for my body weight i.e. 64kg). I also love walking in these.
Peba yes okay... but how is the peba? Sorry for this stupid question, but since I run a lot in Li-Nings and Xteps I noticed... peba is not peba. Li-Nings Peba foam is firm, REALLY firm. They are firmer than Adios Lightstrike Pro, firmer than many eva foams. Is it bouncy, or more like New Balance "marshmallow"foam?
Dreamstrike+ is soft and stable, very plush in ride. It’s a foam made for training, not racing. So it’s engineered for cushion and stability, the energy return is moderate to low. While it is soft, it doesn’t have ZoomX sink… It’s a VERY good training form…
Hi Chris! I completely agree about these shoes. I have white one. Amazing! U r one of the finest wisdom guy i genuinely appreciate on utube. 0:20- please share the song name buddy.
I'm excited to be getting a pair in the next few days at a discounted price, and the only question is whether I'll buy another pair or two foe backup. The Peg 41 has been my workhorse and I like it, but I do notice my forefoot getting a bit sore on longer runs (for me, anything longer than 4-5 miles). So I'm excited that this shoe may provide some more comfort while still avoiding a big stack. It felt great in the store, but I'll wait to get a couple long runs before pulling the trigger on more! Btw, you are definitely the single biggest influence on which shoes I have purchased lol. It's a little embarrassing, but Peg 41, Peg plus, and SNR are 3 recent acquisitions. I would never buy before trying a shoe on, but it seems our tastes in shoes jive.
The Rise is around the same stack as the Peg41 and the Peg Plus...but it's softer and more cushioned due to the foam. The EVA support rods help to structure the foam so the shoe rides more substantial. It does seem our tastes align! 🤙🏻
Any thoughts about the SNR toe box? Is it generous? How does it feel? I’m female, with a narrow heel cup and regular (medium width) size. Every shoe sales person tries to sell me on Topo or Altra due to the toe boxes being more foot-shaped, but I prefer a 10-12mm heel drop, due to my high arches. Those brands have 5mm or 4mm drop at most on some models. I’m drawn to the SNR since it’s not a maximalist cushion shoe. I’m a lighter long distance runner and rear foot striker who prefers a neutral shoe. I did extensive research to try to find a shoe that checks all of the boxes for me and SNR is one of the last contenders for me. I had zero plantar fasciitis until Brooks began to taper their toe boxes further with model 14. Of course, so many people try to get me to size up a half size and/or wear a wide width shoe. Sizing up a half size creates an issue where the shoe doesn’t fit my arches, especially on my left side (that foot is smaller). The wide width size is all sloppy in my heel. I feel as if the high stack and maximalist cushion shoes beat me up. Sorry, long winded lol 😅
The SNR is definitely not a Altra/Topo but I wouldn't call it narrow either. Generous would be the word I'd use. The shoe is built for comfort and the upper does a great job of that. My foot is neither wide nor narrow, just "normal", but I do have high arches and a high volume foot...and the SNR fit me very very well. Also, good on you for not following the (poor) advice of always sizing a half size up or more...that often puts the mechanics od the midsole in the wrong place on the foot.
@@SagasuRunning oh thanks for writing me back. I appreciate it. Yeah the sizing up thing is just awful. I’m technically a size 5.9 😆 according to measuring devices of all kinds, but mostly have worn a size 7 in running shoes or athletic shoes. I notice every running shoe I had to get in size 7.5 caused me issues, even just repurposing them as a walking shoe.
I have use this shoe for months now, it works well for daily 45-60 minute endurance run…but last Sunday, I try to do long run for HM preparation, I aim for 2 hours of Zone 2 run, HR 130-140, cadence 165-175, and got a steady pace at 7:00-7:30 km/min..relatively slow I know..I’m a regular cyclist that does Zone 2 riding for 2-4 hors, so this 2 hours long easy run is a breeze for my body, but it’s a different story for my leg…after 75-90 minutes, I feel the forefoot starts to bottoming and loose it’s cushion..and my right foot starts to go all over the place with it’s stride, so I have to work hard to keep it consistent..and after 1:45 both leg just give up, HR and body feels fine, but leg just can’t move anymore… So I can’t use this for a long long run, at least for now at my current running level..would you recommend me to get other long distance trainer for 2 hour and above long easy run? And which one? In my current rotation, my only other trainer is Endorphine speed 3 (bought it on a steep discount), I don’t know wether it would help me for long 2 hours run, other shoes are takumi 8, adios 8, and metaspeed (sky + and edge paris)
I’ve done many 90-100min runs in the SNR and have no issues. In fact I’d have no issue bringing my it to a 3 hour of 32k run in a marathon build. Stay, consistent and cushioned through the entire run. Odd how our experiences differ so much. Two options I’d recommend for a long slow run…. The Supernova Prima, if you are a forefoot or midfoot striker. Or the Superblast 2. Your ES3 is worth a try but I do find the foam in the shoe really looses its life after 90mins or so. Your other shoes won’t work well, unless you need to do some marathon pace efforts in the long run.
@@SagasuRunning I guess at 171 cm, 69 kg, and less then perfect running mechanics on the right foot, we require different level of support…I haven’t looked at it but my guess is, ground contact time, body weight, and overall “springyness” of a runner determines how the foam behave, maybe I just put too much load on it and cause it to bottom out sooner…thanks for the recommendation anyway 🙏🏼
Can you compare the Boston 12 to the supernova rise please? I have the boston and was going to buy the rise, however it felt stiff so i didn't buy it. I need a soft shoe bec my ankles and knees hurt. So far the boston is just alright.
They don't compare...totally different class shoes. The SNR is MUCH softer and more stable due to the EVA support rods. If you want a soft shoe, to protect yours ankles, that is a nice training companion to the B12....that is most definitely the Supernova Rise.
@@SagasuRunning Looking forward to that SL2 video...I'm eyeing the rise vs SL2, and for almost exactly the same price as well, for my next easy day shoe. Suspect SL2 should encourage a bit faster pace than the rise? Currently using Invincible 3 for easy, Boston 12 for tempo/long, and Adios pro 3 for interval/speed.
I ran in Supernova Rise in a demo run during TRE (Austin, TX) and recently ran in Supernova Prima (during a demo run on Global Running Day). Personally I liked Supernova Prima a lot more. If you get a chance try Prima. Extra cushion made a difference in the ride and I cannot say this for a lot of other highly cushioned shoes like Nimbus or even Novablast 4 that I tried. The cushion in Prima is a lot more responsive. In general I like mid-stack shoes a lot more for most of my training but Prima seems to have found a good balance between softness and responsiveness.
I'll, at least, try the Prima on when it finally shows up here in Taiwan and see how I feel...but the low stack and minimal use of foam IS one of the main reason I love the Rise. So it's going to take some convincing for my feet.
I was surprised of your praises of this model yesterday in your Puma Velocity video that today I tried it in a store. There was also Supernova Stride which I didn’t like. I did like Rise though I could only walk around but on the other hand they didn’t give me “fun” factor in terms of extra bounce or they didn’t surprise me. They are slightly denser and firmer than Nike Vomero 17 and Puma Velocity.
The SNR is denser and firmer than the V17 or VN3? Did you try the same shoe as me? The VN3 is MUCH denser and firmer than the SNR, which is to it's benefit for what that shoe does. The V17 is also much denser, though the step in plushness of the V17 due to the ZoomX is higher, but that goes away quickly and can turn into an issue on the V17 (I have a video about that).
@@proudbacteria1373 This I agree with. But it is more cushioned over the long term. The ZoomX and Cushlon in the V17 are problematic due to how they break in so drastically differently.
I know there is a wide version of the SNR, but it's a very generous fit, not just for an Adidas shoe. I will compare the fit directly between the SNR and SL2 just as soon as I can get a pair of SL2s.
The NB4 is the only max cushioned trainer that remotely comes close to the SNR… but, without a doubt, I’ll pick the SNR (and have). I run in the NB4 last week, to refresh my memory of the shoe for this review. There’s no match… for me the SNR is light years ahead, better geometry, better foam, better ride… (and I like the NB4 a lot)
Thank you for your eloquent and detailed review... not many people are able to see the tech behind an object (in this case the shoes)... always a joy to watch your videos...
@@apollocreed3263 I actually have a pair of Streak 7s with me here in Taiwan. They actually are in my very first video on this channel. I’m considering doing a “retro review” on them later this summer. They are a classic at this point.
Ordered a pair based on your reviews. Very curious. I have run in three pairs of Brooks Glycerin shoes for my easy runs. See if this can follow it up. Already own quite a few pairs of Adidias shoes so very curious about this one!
This one is quite a bit lower to the ground and more flexible than a Glycerin...but still very cushioned and comfortable for easy running. They also have been very consistent for me. I hope you enjoy them.
It doesn’t to the Nimbus… totally different class of shoe. The NB4 is the only max stack/rockered trainer I care for right now… but I’ll pick the SNR over it any day. In fact the shoe that has limited my use of the NB4 is the SNR. I took the NB4 out last week to refresh myself on it for this review…. And yes I prefer the SNR over it in every way…. And I like the NB4 quite a bit.
Have you tried the Adizero SL 2 yet ? It would be great if you can compare Supernova Rise vs SL 2.0. I am surprised that the list price of SL 2.0 is cheaper than Supernova Rise while SL2 has full length of LightStrike Pro in the mid foam embedded by LightStrike 2.0. I have tried SL2 and find that the heel is not very stable compared with Supernova Rise and SL1. 😊
@ Wow thanks for responding. Looking forward to that review. Btw was wondering if you really did get a new pair of supernova rise, just saw that you retired one after 300+kms.
@cmjr13 Nope. I haven’t been running in them lately. So many other options at the moment. I will be coming back to them in a few weeks though. Been saving that.
Just tried both the rise and prima today and I have to say I prefer the prima due to the superior forefoot cushioning that Im looking for in my weekly easy run. It has a similar feel to the novablast 4 that I am planning to get, though I can't be certain the difference in terms of the rebound as I was unable to run in the store. Now I'm in a dilemma. 😩
The Prima is the SN for forefoot strikers who like alot of cushion. Which isn’t me, the cushion part, not forefoot strike. The Rise is the ideal blend for me. Both are great and I love that the Supernova line has all of those options for runners.
@@SagasuRunning yes. I like that there are variation to the line to cater to different needs. I'm now leaning towards the prima instead of the NB4 as Im not used to high rocker shoes and the NB4 feels like there is a lack of toe off feel which the prima has, although there is still a rocker.
Hey Chris, Every time I look at this shoe I constantly worry about the forefoot bottoming out as I’m a heavier (85KG) forefoot striker. I’ve had to retire numerous soft running shoes that had a sub 30mm stack in the forefoot as they all bottomed out on me. Do you feel like the foam is resilient enough to be able to handle it?
Try the Puma Magnify Nitro 2. I weigh 90kgs and have had no problems. The Puma foam is resilient, stable and responsive. Also you get Puma grip which is durable and gives excellent traction.
@@RichardHitchcock-ig4lj I was actually going to mention the Nitro foam. I’ve heard on many occasions that the super critical foams like in the Puma Nitro foam and Brooks’ DNA loft V3 are ones that don’t bottom out.
I weight around 75-77kg...and I have no issues with this shoe bottoming out, even after 200miles. That being said the Solution or the Prima (if you are a mid to forefoot striker) may be better options.
Do you feel a rotation around Rise, Boston 12 and possible Adios 8 covers most bases? Adidas has some new models for higher stack and/or plated shoes but if Rise covers easy paces, Adios/Takumi Sen speed work and Boston long runs I feel like there is little to be gained from buying anything else from that company for the time being. I wonder how SL2 will fit the rotation because it might cannibalize Adios 8 for speedier traning? Rise feels a bit weird in the heel when walking because it pushes the foot laterally but for running it seems fine. I believe this is why some people might find the shoe's heel clunky at first. It seems that discounts for this shoe are starting to pop up so your review is just in time to pull the trigger. Thanks!
That’s a good rotation. Most things are covered. I’m currently using a SNR/TS10/AP3 core rotation covering the same ground. I need to run in the SL2…. Once it’s a available in Taiwan… I’ll be on it. I have some thoughts as to what it will be good for and possibly cannibalize but need to spend some time in them to confirm.
Have you tried the Supernova Solution? From what I heard, they worked on the stability, middle sole is even firmer than the Supernova Rise, the shoe is a little wider than the Rise.. It would be good to have this shoe, as I don't like too soft running shoes..
Nope, I don't need a stability shoe and never run in them. If you don't like soft running shoes, then any Supernova is not for you. Dreamstrike+ foam is soft overall.
I got my son a pair, and he had a problem with outsole mid separation in the medial and lateral forefoot edge, which he asked me to fix in both shoes (forefoot striker) . Did you experience the same? BTW he loves them
"Don't tempt me, Frodo!"😅 I have the strong suspicion the Rise runs like the T20/21. If so, you should be good running in them for at least 300k more, if not more. My T20 is still strong at 700k.💪
This is a long run/easy run trainer. It would not be my first choice for racing….or second or third… or any. Not what it’s for. As for paces, I found it comfortable for 4:45/km and slower, the slower the better.
I wasn't planning on it...one of the main things I like about the Rise so much is the lower stack height. But so many people have been asking me to try the Prima. We shall see. I'm more interested in the Adistar BYD to be honest....
@@SagasuRunning I think those two shoes are overlapping in some use cases. I didn't try BYD. From my Adidas local rep during local demo run for Prima, it might not be available in US for a while.
I’m oddly interested in the BYD…. But the Prima sounds like something I’d enjoy more… I’m also growing more curious how it compares to the Rise…. Stay tuned
Heard your first line, want to buy immediately lol. How would you compare this form to LSP on B12 or AP3? Understand the stack height is very different but that doesn't sound like a major differentiator to you. And curious what's the longest mile you'd take this for a single run before you feel more stack height is needed?
Apple to oranges comparison. LSP doesn’t compare to Dreamstrike+. One is a race foam and the other is a training specific foam. I love them both but there is no overlap. Also the Supernova is not a Adizero shoe… so very different purposes The longest run I’ve done in the SNR was 22k. I’d have no issues taking these to 25-30k for a long slow run. Absolutely no issues. The bulk of my runs in them have been 14-17k.
@@SagasuRunning I just got my SL2 and thought I'd share some experience for your upcoming review FWIW. The midsole is very good (thinking of it as a softer and more enjoyable version of Mach 6). The upper is also very comfy but it has a fatal (for my feet, which is between E and 2E) - it gives me blisters on the medial side of my big toe bunion area every time. The upper material is much softer than B12 (which also gives be blisters) and even AP3 (which I actually never had this issue, now AP3 has other issues with their upper for me but that's not relevant here). Upon a detailed check, I noticed the issue is at the part here the upper connects with the midsole, on the inner side of the shoe - the midsole (or maybe insole) has a "wall" like flare up and connects with the upper. That "wall" is kinda stiff and is what causes the rubbing. AP3 actually doesn't have this issue (completely flat and the upper just wraps around the bed of the midsole/insole).
I bought it 2 weeks ago and still haven't tried it. It's meant to replace my Brooks Ghost 14. Rise and Novablast 4 were my options, but I chose Rise. I'm still a bit bitter about skipping the Novablast 4 just because the specific color I wanted wasn't available 😂
It’s gunna be hard to decide between this Prima and the SL2. I wonder if Prima is better for me being 6’3 215. Fortunately I live 2 hours from Portland where the adidas “employee” store has everything 50% off… not that I NEED more adidas shoes.
It’s a nice drive down to Portland… especially form the north and east…. Just saying. I’m going to get to the bottom of which one is best. Though my hypothesis currently is each will be best for a certain type of runner…. But I’m still going to crown one a “winner at year end in my “best of” content. So much review and vs content coming over the next 30-45 days. It’s going to be ridiculous. Stay tuned.
Got the Supernova Rise. After one run it think it’s awesome. Definitely do not need the Prima. I’m surprised how cushioned it is at the with that stack height. The Dreamstrike+ is awesome! Really glad you gave such a positive review of this shoe because it was a little lukewarm in other reviews.
@@TroySpringer11 Right? It's very surprising how it feels on foot giving how low the stack is. Best of both worlds, flexibility/ground feel and cushion...usually things that don't go together. The other great thing is how consistent the shoe has been and how that feel has held up over 200 miles+.
Of all the current brands from China… that’s the very last one I will have access too. They are very rare here in Taiwan, but Xtep has dig itself quite a hole recently… I have some lines of communication open… we will see what comes of it. There is a 361 and Li Ning shoe I would love to try…
@@SagasuRunning makes sense. 361 has solid ones too and some are insanely cheap carbon plated shoes. Some are around 60-80$ here in the Philippines during sale
I was surprised by this review. I didnt expect the plaudits. How would you compare it to a Boston 12 and Adizero SL? Also, can the Supernova handle 30+ km per run?
The SNR and the B12 are totally different class shoes, but they are great training companions. The longest run I have done in the SNR is 21-22k, but I'd have no issue taking it to 30k.
Very different execution. The engineering in the SNR is far more complex that the Temous. The “support rod” EVA has a very different feel than traditional carrier foams. Lastly, Dreamstrike+ is MICH better than PWRRUN PB, at least for easy runs.
Very interesting! I understand you prefer lower, firmer shoes for daily training, and so do I. The thing is that I hate Puma Velocity Nitro and I'm looking for an alternative for my Peg 37, specially for longer runs (I'm a forefoot striker and weigh 74kgs, never had an injury and like to feel the ground). I never tried Novablast and there's a good deal on it right now. It would be an obvious choice at the price, but I know Adizero SL2 is coming up soon, which could be a good alternative. Do you think the Supernova Rise (which is more expensive than the Novablast on sale at this point in Brazil) could be a nice alternative? Great job! Happy running!
The SNR will feel too soft for you. It's a good analog to the Streakfly in feel. For easy running I like to have a soft and flexible option. If you are looking for an analog from the Peg37, I think that will likely be the SL2. I need to run in it but early reviews and the tech in the show both confirm it should be closer to that. The NB4 will feel like too much foam. It's fun shoe, which I like quite a bit, but I always reach for the SNR over it.
The Invicible 3 is cheaper than the NB4 now and the Supernova Rise is about 2/3 the price of the other two ones in Brazil. I just can’t decide which will be best for long runs.
@@ucatani The SNR is the best durability of those three for me. The shoe is a tank… but I still think it may be too soft for you. The Invincible 3 is very durable as well.
Anyone think if this is gonna ride similar to their mild stability offering, Supernova Solution? Obviously the durability will be there but it looks like the Solution has a little bit more of a firmness. Asking because I could get it on sale for dirt cheap, thinking of getting 2 actually because of the price lol
Both models are the same foam and outsole. The Solution has more aggressive rods on the medial side, isn’t any firmer but is less flexible and has 7mm more stack height. Similar, but very different. Sort of like saying an orange and a lemon are both citrus fruit but taste very different.
@@SagasuRunning got you. Didnt even realise they had different stack? Would you recommend the Solution for 10mi and above easy long runs or would the inherent stability be a negative factor? Im more of a mid-forefoot striker and this would be my first mild guidance shoe if ever.
I wouldn’t recommend the Solution unless you need the stability aspects of the shoe. Otherwise the Rise is the way to go. I did many 10mi runs in it and they were great.
@@SagasuRunning Took the Solution since I already have the SL2 as a daily/workout shoe. This'll serve as a recovery/medium run shoe also to try a mild stability offering. So far so good. Thanks for taking the time to reply!
I haven't run in the SL2 yet, its not released here in Taiwan. As soon as it is though, I'll be making quite a bit of content on it and comparisons....the SNR is just one of many.
The thing about the Supeenova Rise is there is so soft and accommodating that it really doesn’t feel like a 10mm drop shoe, though it also won’t feel like a 6mm drop shoe either.
@@SagasuRunning i have a pair myself but after one run my knees hurt so much that i relegated them to dog walking shoes and honestly they're amazing for that. sticking with the other 6mm drop adizero shoes for actual running
I’m looking forward to your review of Adistar Beyond when it releases. I’m a little intrigued between these two running shoes, which I’m on the fence. 😅
I'm oddly intrigued by it too. It's TOTALLY not the type of shoe I like...but something appeals to me with it, even just to try it. I'll see what I decide once it's available here.
I've made the same volume of km on them, and I agree with all your thoughts, but I would like to know your opinion about using them for long runs (more than 20 km). Do you think the stack height should be enough or the Prima could be better for this purpose? I'm also considering the SL2, or buy another pair of Boston 12... Waiting for your opinion on the SL2 as soon as you test them
The longest run I’ve done in them was 22k…. Most of my running in them has been 14-17k… I’d have absolutely no issues taking these up to 30k for a long slow run. I’ll be on the SL2 as soon as I can get a pair… cannot wait!
The SNR is a much better shoe. Night and day better… even when the V17 wasn’t giving my foot issues (I have a video on that) I still was reaching for the SNR over it…
@SagasuRunning, thank you so much for this review and based on it i was able to get my pair😂.
Your review is just the perfect balance between an outline and detail.
I appreciate the feedback and thank you for watching! 🤙🏻

Can't wait for your thoughts on the SL2. I did my first run in them this morning, they're really great for the price
I cannot wait to get a pair. So jealous of those who already have them.
@SagasuRunning it's an Adizero upper got sure (complete with the same laces) but the underfoot experience finally feels like it's part of the line
@@michaelcaricoo Both of those things, minus the Adizero laces, sound great!
Was waiting for this review so thanks a lots ! Great as always !

Will try to get this one on sale. Thanks for the review.
I noticed lots of sale prices on adidas.com in the US…
@@SagasuRunning Not here in EU at the moment but no rush :)
I am starting in running and have just had my first run on these. 10km and perfect since the beginning. When I finished they even felt better and softer, very protective. I like them more than novablast 4 TR. More stable for me (neutral) both on the heel and the forefoot and more space for my big toe.
Definitely more stable and neutral than the NB4 TR (which is technically a trail shoe, but not really)... the SNR is a special shoe. 🤙🏻
I just ran my second run in these. Really underrated shoe, perfect balance of soft and responsive (at lease for my body weight i.e. 64kg).
I also love walking in these.
They are also a great casual shoe. Agree, they are very underrated. 🤙🏻
Curious if the Supernova Prima will make it onto your feet?
Nope…. But the Adistar BYD might… we shall see.
While it is soft, it doesn’t have ZoomX sink…
It’s a VERY good training form…
@@SagasuRunning thank you
Hi Chris! I completely agree about these shoes. I have white one. Amazing!

Thank you for the kind words and watching. Song name is at the bottom of the description. 🤙🏻
I have use this shoe for months now, it works well for daily 45-60 minute endurance run…but last Sunday, I try to do long run for HM preparation, I aim for 2 hours of Zone 2 run, HR 130-140, cadence 165-175, and got a steady pace at 7:00-7:30 km/min..relatively slow I know..I’m a regular cyclist that does Zone 2 riding for 2-4 hors, so this 2 hours long easy run is a breeze for my body, but it’s a different story for my leg…after 75-90 minutes, I feel the forefoot starts to bottoming and loose it’s cushion..and my right foot starts to go all over the place with it’s stride, so I have to work hard to keep it consistent..and after 1:45 both leg just give up, HR and body feels fine, but leg just can’t move anymore…
So I can’t use this for a long long run, at least for now at my current running level..would you recommend me to get other long distance trainer for 2 hour and above long easy run?
@TheCyclingCardio ground contact and vertical movement definitely do. Though I’m 175cm/75kg’ish….
@@SagasuRunning not that much different
How does the outsole perform on a wet road surface?
I live in Taipei, Taiwan. It's ALWAYS wet here. I've had zero problems in the rain or wet roads/concrete.
Curious if the Supernova Prima and the Adizero SL 2 is also on your list to review? Would love to hear the comparisons.
SL2 definitely, once it’s available here in Taiwan. The Prima, nope…too much foam.
@q3bing yup, I think they will be complementary to one another. Not either/or.
Hi, this shoe requires half or full size above? Or your casual sizing fits confortable enough to trainning purposes? tks
TTS for me. The same size I wear in all other Adidas Running or casual shoes….
@@SagasuRunning Maybe I didn’t say it correctly. SNR is less plush than V17 that’s what I wanted to say.
@@SagasuRunning It’s interesting that I see SNR for $95 on Amazon despite that it’s a new model.
@@proudbacteria1373 Even adidas.com/us has prices like that. Adidas randomly does sales on things.
@@proudbacteria1373 This I agree with. But it is more cushioned over the long term. The ZoomX and Cushlon in the V17 are problematic due to how they break in so drastically differently.
I must admit I am STILL holding out on these to hear about the SL2, but now that early reports suggest that shoe runs narrow, I may go this way.
I know there is a wide version of the SNR, but it's a very generous fit, not just for an Adidas shoe. I will compare the fit directly between the SNR and SL2 just as soon as I can get a pair of SL2s.
Thanks for the review, how would you compare them to the Novablast 4? Im still debating on which one to keep.
@@The_Connected_Universe Thank you. I appreciate the support and feedback. 💪🏻
Just ordered the Prima. Passed on these although they’re tempting. I’ve become a sucker for a little more forefoot stack.
I’m going the other way. I want less and less, at least for easy runs…
That old Nike classic , the streak 7 I think it's called is a great low stack trainer .
@@apollocreed3263 I actually have a pair of Streak 7s with me here in Taiwan. They actually are in my very first video on this channel. I’m considering doing a “retro review” on them later this summer. They are a classic at this point.
I would LOVE a retro review , I have the shoe still , it is a wonderful shoe to run in .
I’ll see if I can fit it in in late July or August.
Nice! :)
How does this shoe compare to the Asics Nimbus 26 and the Novablast 4?
It doesn’t to the Nimbus… totally different class of shoe. The NB4 is the only max stack/rockered trainer I care for right now… but I’ll pick the SNR over it any day. In fact the shoe that has limited my use of the NB4 is the SNR. I took the NB4 out last week to refresh myself on it for this review…. And yes I prefer the SNR over it in every way…. And I like the NB4 quite a bit.
Would you recommend the Nimbus or Supernova Rise to rotate with my Superblast and Takumi Sen?
Thats not even a choice....SNR all the way.
The SL2 is not released yet here in Taiwan. As soon as it is I'll be making many comparisons videos with it.
How would you compare it to the Velocity Nitro 3?
my next video will be a "vs" between the SNR and VN3...stay tuned...
Will you be getting the peg 41?
Yup… starting in on them tomorrow. Stay tuned.
@@SagasuRunning can’t wait!
Saw that you’re currently trying out the Novablast 5. How does that compare to the supernova rise?
They don’t compare really. Very different shoes. I’ll have my review of the NB5 out this weekend. 🤙🏻
Hey Chris,
Every time I look at this shoe I constantly worry about the forefoot bottoming out as I’m a heavier (85KG) forefoot striker.
Agree on the Puma foams!
Plans on grabbing the SL2 and the supernova prima?
SL2 definitely, as soon as it’s released here in Taiwan. Prima… unlikely, but never saying never. I’m more interested in the Adistar BYD.
hello ! If you run in pace 4/5 ? Can this shoes support ?
4-5/km or mi?
@SagasuRunning km
This or the Velocity Nitro 3?
Stay tuned for my next video... a "SNR vs VN3" comparison.
How does it compare to Boston 12?
They don't. Totally different class of shoe. However, the SNR and B12 form a nice little rotation together that ticks most boxes...
I got my son a pair, and he had a problem with outsole mid separation in the medial and lateral forefoot edge, which he asked me to fix in both shoes (forefoot striker) . Did you experience the same? BTW he loves them
I've had none of those issues. I expected some outsole issues given all the exposed seams, but I've had none.
How does it compare to triumph 20/21?
Never ran in either of those. Though I know enough to say it’s much lower to the ground in feel and more flexible.
How would this compare to the Novablast 5?
The SNR is a better easy day shoe. The NB5 is a better all-rounder. I'll have a comparison of the SNR2 & NB5 in January.
@ cool, looking forward to it!
"Don't tempt me, Frodo!"😅 I have the strong suspicion the Rise runs like the T20/21. If so, you should be good running in them for at least 300k more, if not more. My T20 is still strong at 700k.💪
I'm really impressed with the durability of the SNR, both the outsole AND the foam. Really curious how far they will go.
which asics model you think is comparable with supernova rise ?
There really isn’t one.
Can I do this for long slow distance runs?
Basically, that is that the shoe is intended and designed for. So yes, very much.
Supernova rise,How to feel the increase for long runs, half marathons and comfortable at what pace?
And is there any energy return?
This is a long run/easy run trainer. It would not be my first choice for racing….or second or third… or any. Not what it’s for. As for paces, I found it comfortable for 4:45/km and slower, the slower the better.
Again, wouldn’t be my first choice. You’d be better off in the Adidas SL2 for racing, even casual.
Would you recommend this shoe for a casual half marathon race?
@@SagasuRunning ok thanks

It is a very good shoe for beginners. One of the best you can choose actuality.
@SagasuRunning Thank you for the reply. At this price point, there is also the Asics Novablast 4. Which one would you recommend please?
Surprising review for this shoe! Wasn’t expecting this. Will you try the Primal or whatever the new version is?
Also the Supernova is not a Adizero shoe… so very different purposes
The longest run I’ve done in the SNR was 22k.

Thank you for these notices. I’ll pay attention to these areas when I finally get a pair.
I enjoy the NB4 but the Rise is the better easy/long run shoe. Better foam(s) they are far more consistent and comfortable. Enjoy them.

Hell yeah 30% off. I’ll snag a pair in a heartbeat. 😮
Stay tuned.
@@SagasuRunning oh I know.. and I’m excited to hear your thoughts.
I hope you try Xtep shoes too since their top shoes have been making quite a lot of buzz lately
Of all the current brands from China… that’s the very last one I will have access too. They are very rare here in Taiwan, but Xtep has dig itself quite a hole recently…

@@SagasuRunning that's sounds great.
@SagasuRunning can you please elaborate?
@@LiveYoung0 elaborate on?
Feels like Saucony Tempus execution. Carrier Pwrun with full length PwrunPB directly under foot.
On an average run, how many km/mi do you run on these? Also, what is the longest distance you've ran on these? Thank you.
The longest run in them has been 21-22km. Most runs I've done in them have been 14-17km.
@@SagasuRunning Thank you, sir

As soon as it is though, I'll be making quite a bit of content on it and comparisons....the SNR is just one of many.
clever thumbnail;)
Ha...thank you. 🙏🏻 (My old copywriting skills are still there I guess)
nah i mean how u set up the shoe, daily shoe vibe
8mm drop destroys my knees. i can barely get to 10km with the supernovas which isnt the case with bostons, adios pro 3 or prime x 2
Good thing then that there are plenty of good 5-6mm drip options out there right now.
UB 19 & 21 were FIRM, & I sold them after 1 run. idk if I trust adidas
Adidas, across the board, is softening all of their shoes.
🏃🏻♂️💨
🤙🏻
Vomero!!
The SNR is a much better shoe. Night and day better… even when the V17 wasn’t giving my foot issues (I have a video on that) I still was reaching for the SNR over it…
SNR or ultraboost 5?
Is this the suoernova rise 2?
No. I’ll have a review of that on the channel in January.
@SagasuRunning, thank you so much for this review and based on it i was able to get my pair😂. I'm this review you say this shoe doesn't make you want to make you run faster, what shoe or shoes that offer urge. I want to start collecting a variety of running shoes for different gaming purposes. Thanks, i hope this post will find you with a response from you. Happy new year🎉😂👊🏾👍🏾
There are many other shoes out there that want to push the pace. If youw ant to start building a rotation start with this video, which will give you the basics on what you are looking for and why...and work from there: th-cam.com/video/5z4cY1deQqY/w-d-xo.html
