I'm A medical student in my final year from iraq , my father had 2 SAHs 2 weeks apart , second time he nearly died between my hands , he underwent an endovascular treatment for an Acom artery aneurysm in Turkey since we don't have this specialty in Iraq and now thank God he is completely fine . Since that time I became very interested in Interventional Radiology that I'd Die to specialise in it in the US.. but as I heard It's very difficult for an IMG to get such a specialty in the US .. any help?

My aneurysm has been coiled twice and had a stent placed also. I had a stroke post aneurysm treatment. How common is vasospasm post coiling? Full disclosure: I had meningitis from the drains in my head. Ended up with a permanent shunt. Neurosurgeon says my stroke was from the meningitis, but I think it was an unnoticed vasospasm because I was begging for pain med due to the headache and the nurse treated me like a med seeker ( per my family). I don't remember any of it. ( the aneurysm or stroke or any of my time in the ICU which was over a month and a half)
