Honestly this has probably been the most exciting NFL season I can remember
Grim Reaper Game (or 13 seconds). This was a legendary performance by Mahomes. Allen was really good. Brady Manning never had a playoff game where both of them dominated at the same time like this.

And the Reaper was sent into the lake of Fire by the Bengals the very next week.
That entire 4th quarter stood up and said "hold my beer."
As a Chiefs fan, I was twice prepared to turn off the television and go to bed heartbroken, but I'm SO GLAD I didn't! What an amazing finish!

Cant put Mahomes over Allen in this particular game just because his team won. If anything, Allen made equal results with less help (check Diggs vs Hill/Kelce or Bills 41 backfield rushing yards vs 113 from KC). It was all about the OT coin toss as at that point both QBs were in the best flow we have ever seen them in. Both were absolutely stellar, and I have no doubt Buffalo wouldn't have scored had they gotten the ball first.
It wasn't Ali vs Frazier. It was Ali vs Ali going down to judging points. Too bad one had to lose.

This was mindblowing - the ability to continually overcome impossible odds and make exceptional mundane was breathtaking. Also, this was the most competitive division round weekend that I've ever seen. The last time I saw such emotion and will to win was when Kellen Winslow was dragged off the field in the Dolphin's 1981 divisional playoff. Incredible.

Exactly. The revisionism is at an all time high. Not squibbing isnt the issue. Defense needed a stop. If they squib it i gty they just run a different play then they all would be saying you shouldn't have squibbed it.
A squib is stupid there because the clock starts when the ball is touched. Guess what, a player just takes a knee and now they have great field position with the same amount of time. People calling for a squib have no clue what they are talking about.
I think that because Bills had #1 Defense on paper solely due to the team's they played and the wins they had early including the one at Arrowhead..people were not ready to admit that the KC CHIEFS are a much better team after Week 7 when they were 3-4..yet finished tied with Titans at 12-5?. Finishing the season on a 9-1 run..Bills last 4-5 games were not against playoff contending type of teams except NE and they were like 1-4 overs last 5...Still what Allen did against NE and the game leadership.that he showed against KC has shown the Football world that he is the real deal..Even Mahomes ran through his team celebrating to get to Allen as he knew what it was to lose a playoff game in OT , and never having the chance to touch the ball.

I think the NFL is RIGGED last 13 secs the Bills defense didn't cover no one!! Chiefs WR'S WERE WIDE OPEN!!! Then move into position to kick a field goal to go into OT. Just seems rigged to me.
Nick Wright had a great suggestion for any team in the Bills situation: With 13 seconds left, tell your coverage players to play at the line of scrimmage and one high safety deep. At the snap, rush the Chiefs receivers and GRAB THEM AND HOLD THEM. Get a defensive holding penalty. Clock still runs during play, receivers can't get out on a route, you only give up 5 yds. QB is left to decide whether to run for sidelines (eating up more clock) or throw ball away and take measley penalty, 1st and 5 with only a few seconds left and you're left with a Hail Mary situation.
Rex really is fun to listen to on this show, & the end reference to armchair coaching was spot on, it’s easy to talk when not in the intense playoff moments

Rex was right last week, the Chiefs needed a top notch game to beat the Bills! But it was a rock and a hard place for the bills. if you squib it, they still get those yards that they got later with hill and kelce. Assuming they make good choices and execute, Chiefs tie it no matter what the Bills do
The Bills defense stalled at the end. You could see how tired they were. That was the painful part to watch. Gabriel Davis put on a show, but the defense couldn't seal the deal.

it’s crazy man, it just seems like no matter what the Chiefs are always on the positive side of these memorable games. he has a 55% win percentage when *DOWN BY 10 POINTS OR MORE IN THE 4th QUARTER* ! the next closest player is like 15%. he’s got that clutch gene. And thankfully he got drafted to a guy that knows how to place pieces and plays around him in Big Red.

One take away that people aren't talking about is that Harrison Butker could have ended this way earlier if any of his 2 missed kicks actually made it in.
I think it would have gone to OT either way. If he made the field goal earlier it would have been a tie with 13 seconds instead of a 3 point deficit. The chiefs would not have had the same motivation on the final drive if this was the case. They would probably be content going to overtime.

What all of these former coaches fail to understand is (and it is why he is a former coach and not a current coach)...if you swap the squib kick for the first play to Tyreek Hill, it would have been the same field position and the same amount of time off the clock as the play that they ran. They guy that fields it returns it to the 35 or 45 and it runs off 4 or 5 seconds...or what if the kick goes out of bounds...same thing, it's a penalty, dead ball and the Chiefs get the ball at the 45 to start and still have 13 seconds. With the squib kick, they would have still hit Kelce, and still had a timeout...and Buttkicker would have still hit the field goal.
Disagree squib is the best option. Obviously make sure hill doesn’t get it but that would shave 4 seconds off the clock forcing the chiefs to throw farther

The clock doesn't start until the squib kick is touched. The player can immediately give himself up by simply falling on the ball or taking a knee; forward movement is NOT required. When this is done, only 1 second goes off the clock. Also, it's tough to squib kick the ball on the ground and #1) getting it all the way to the 20-yard line but not beyond the goal line, #2) keeping it inbounds, & 3) keeping it away from players stationed between the 25-yard line & 50-yard line...before a player secures the ball.
The way that game went I don't think it would have matter which kick was done

To bad this isn't a great qb class. Maybe Desmond Ridder or west kentucky's qb. I would be surprised if they got a qb this draft. They will probably play with Rudolph next year and secure a high draft pick in the hope next year does have generational talent. It’s hard to call the non-squib kick a mistake. It doesn’t matter if you’re the Jets or Lions or Jaguars. No NFL defense should lose when they’re up 3 with the opponent in their own 25 with 13 left. And the Bills had the top passing defense in the NFL. McDermott put faith in his defense. The bills did all they could on their last possession and the kick. Their biggest mistake was keeping outside leverage, 1-on-1 with Kelce at the end when the Chiefs still had 2 timeouts. The corner was playing to keep him in bounds, which doesn’t matter at all if you’ve got a timeout in that situation. Whole stadium and everyone watching knew that ball was going to either Kelce or Hill. And the Bills didn’t press either of them.
Steelers win over The Cardinals Super Bowl game was the closets game too this. Warner vs Big Ben was a gtreat matchup.
