I actually have that wooden chess computer the "mephisto exclusive senator" it's not a very portable thing to play and it has to be plugged in and loses its memory immediately as soon as you unplug it however, the thing is a bastard to play against. playing that thing at its highest settings will give anyone a Chess whipping they'll never forget.
That chess computer you have is programmed by Franz Morch - same programmer of the Fritz engines. That machine you have could give many strong players trouble you are right.
It'd be interesting to see Andras play against Chessmaster 2 on PS1. Also to figure out the ELO (roughly) you could probably play Chessmaster against a modern engine like Stockfish and see how far it can get. I did this awhile ago with Chess Titans for Windows XP and it topped out around 2000 (if memory serves).

Yea that's true at the top level at least, but the king's gambit is way more aggressive and I know it much better than the Queen's gambit which is why I was using the King's gambit to test the waters of the engine's strength :p

I played the DS version. I didn't even know it was a sequel to a NES game. it's the same guy and everything. The art for the chessmaster is the exact same. btw, I want to challenge you now.

It's actually just a coincidence lol, this video took me way longer than I expected to edit the full thing and I didn't finish it until April 1st lol If I didn't get really sick a while back it probably would have released in February and I would have made a real april fool's video
I'm a huge Bobby Fischer fan but it's pretty well regarded that Kasparov and Magnus are likely better, but this is mostly because they played more recently. If Bobby Fischer was still playing today it would be a different story but sadly we will never know :/

There are other weird rating calculations where people claim all sorts of different ratings for different players but they aren't official nor recognized by anyone.
