- First thing: Unlike the classic Zoom G2 which is old but still excellent, the G1 FOUR isn't a USB recording interface. That's a real shame. Guitar Lab offers a good set of options though, and it's free from Zoom's website.

I realize this video was posted two years ago and I'm sure you know what I'm about to point out by now but I'll mention it anyway for others who may be wondering. In GuitarZoom, what you saw wasn't six patches. It was five patches but one of them had too many adjustments to fit on one panel so a sixth page is shown but there are only five patches. Besides, the Zoom G1Four, G1XFour and the acoustic processor equivalents (I own both) only have provision for five effects so if GuitarZoom had six, one couldn't be used on the G1X anyway.

It's not an audio interface because it's an multi-FX pedal.
The USB is only for patch manipulation, and also for powering with an external battery pack.
Is this the same for the A1 pedal as well?

You can, but there will be a slight lag between your playing the sound output.
G3Xn new-ish user (have had G7, G5 - have G3Xn) - I would say that the GuitarLab is severely broken - i also had to switch usb cables, restart pc, device etc - then it find the unit, update - then it drops connection.
I have quite a lot of experience and it is not the usb ports on my pc or anything like that.
I get (after fiddeling) connection with the unit, start to try out a few patches in this new, *improved* , lab software - then it jumps back to the pre-chosen patch because it looses connection with the unit (over, and over - and there is delay between the connection of the unit and the program)
So, i would NOT use the G3Xn in any important situation with the pc as overhead.

I just was going to connect and look up this "particle reverb" - but started trying patches - and started solving more problems than actuallually playing... see the point, Zoom?
Would it be a program, a game or similar, i would be all over the developer - and boy - when they had the "Edit&Share" software, and switched to GuitarLab´s first version with the G5(n) *update* , was it a letdown?
Now in the newest version (V.3!) - it looked better... but Zoom, what are you doing?
Have to pass it forward to G-users - there is another 3:rd party program for the Zooms, called "Tone-Lib Zoom" check it out, it might just work.
Sounds like your cable is extremely broken because it works like a charm for me.

I updated the software in time, got it to work, sort of... it is a shitty version compared to the predecessor.
Have not been using it much since, because Tone Lib got the job done. It may work like a charm now, not then.

It happens simultaneously. They only commit to the pedal if you save them to the pedal.

Some buzzing noises are coming out from amp. And, when I change some patch settings on computer software, the noise is either increasing or decreasing. How to get rid of this noise completely?
I was fisappointed the Fuzz Face wasn't available on this one, but on earlier zoom pedals. I like the fact the Marshall JCM is on there.

Can I connect this processor to any amplifier (not guutar amplifier)?
Yep, I’ve used it with my Bluetooth speaker’s aux-in socket, sounds fine 👍
As you scrolled through effects, we saw quite a few that are NOT installed on the pedal. I couldn't read the number in the lower-right hand corner to see how full the unit is, but I'm guessing it's full. Perhaps you can remove some effects from the pedal to make room, then add some effects from the list you scrolled through. See Guitar Lab manual, p. 7. Patches NOT on the device seem to be marked with a circling arrow.
Yep, you're right. I've been in the software since then and was able to exchange effects freely. I think I was too focused on looking specifically for the "Particle reverb" effect, which I still didn't find. So at this stage that effect is sadly still not available on the G1 FOUR, but there are some other good ones to choose from :) Gearfacts
Personally, I've removed some effects I'll never use from the pedal to make room for those I DO use. The Explosion effect for instance. Never find a use for it, so I removed it.

Open the software THEN connect the pedal. Try pressing the button.
After downloading metalworld effect in PC, metalworld effect will appear in my Zoom G1X four? Cuz there's no metalword effect in my G1X four..

Yep you can monitor to an amp even when usb is connected
Guitar lab crashes every time after it says device found.
I've found a solution for this
First- download the latest version that is 4.1
Second- after downloading turn off you all antivirus and firewalls before extracting the file .
Third- If it still crashes then run the troubleshooting program then select.apply and save recommended settings
This worked for me

Why would the editor be greyed out when connecting my G1X Four?
Not sure, it might be in the process of detecting the pedal. Can take ages sometimes.

Any changes you make are auto-saved. In the menu there's a COPY option if you want to move a patch to another location.
I'm stuck at "No Device Found"
It takes lots of unplugging the pedal and resetting the computer. Frustrating :? #gearfacts

even when my g1x4 is pluged into my pc via micro usb, it still displays the "No Device Found" screen, and im not sure what to do.
This happens all the time for lots of different people. I'm afraid I don't have a solid answer. I waited about 10 minutes and it finally connected, but that's just my computer/pedal. Your situation could be different.

I'm not sure but I thought you can find and select the fx you want in the Free Guitar Lab Software and then add them to your G1 four.
I only have the G1Xon at the moment so I can't use this software with my pedal to check this.
Hope this will work because there are a lot of fx missing in the new pedal compared to the G1Xon.
For people who want to buy this pedal, have the one with the expression pedal (G1 X four) You can use it to adjust the fx level, fx rate, delay time etc. (1 funtion at the time per patch)

You can use the Tonelib software for editing and seeing patches. It's available on all platforms.
Mine is "Can't open MIDI out". What should I do to fix this?

@@gearfacts Thanks man, but I already fixed and updated my G1xfour. It appears "Can't open MIDI out" because the connector I connected is not compatible with my unit. It is now v.2.0.
It's because the MIDI channel is in use by another device.

Please what cable have you purchased?
I think I just used the one that came with it. Apparently there are some cables that charge but don't carry data, you've got to avoid those ones.
@@gearfacts the same cable works with my Phone and It Is recognized as device. The same cable has been used to upload firmware on the Zoom...so the problem isn't cable

Yep or you can run a USB cable direct from the pedal to your laptop and it'll record that way too.
Does it record, with just the pedal and the USB? I thought someone else commented that you couldn't use it as a recording audio interface, I'm still having trouble with the program reading my device @@gearfacts

A common problem. For me, sometimes it just takes a very long time. Some people never got it to work with their computer at all.

No, you'll need an Audio>USB device
It's an effects pedal not an audio interface.

You need upgrade the g1 four firmware, look to zoom's site, on G1 four/G1x four page

You don't need an extra audio interface, the G1FOUR sends audio from its USB socket.

You do it on the the pedal, its a bit of a pain in the ass but I'm amateur and can make basically whatever I want
@@yooooo6296 yeah 9 months later i downloaded the program on my pc and i can finally create my own stuff. The only problem is that the effects are not so intuitive i mean i don't even own a amp divided in 2 parts.
