This is the definition of what mapping should be.
The storyline has such a powerful message, powerful characters, style, very clean and immersing videos.
This is the only series that I've watched as a whole (twice),since your videos are the only ones that deserve attention.
I am going to be honest. I don't watch mapping at all anymore,besides this,since mapping has lost it's creativity and originality.
Just keep up the good work, you are my only motivation and hope to continue making videos myself.

Best story I've ever seen if we talk 'bout a mapping series.
But there two things which simply don't work (in my opinion)
1. To make someone always winning is boring. Especially if that's predictable. Thanks to your profile which presents the flag of the winner since the first day.
2. Although a time machine is able to explain why he's so succesful but this is (for me) a boring explanation. It's like you gave Graxum superpowers. Know what I'm talking about?
To make someone always winning in a gun fight and explaining later he's able to create a bullet time. wow...
To come to an end: Very good Season (I already wrote a coment a few months ago) keep the quality but please make it next time more reasonable.

Well, those are some of the reasons why this series is unique. While the outcome is predictable, getting to the outcome is not, in this case.
tbh eradiate this is better than watching robin hood gr8 series and am looking forward for S3! XD

Liechtenstein Mapper This guy IS the best mapper. He deserves so much more.
Has no one complemented Eradiate on his extraordinarily detailed war slides? They are amazing.
I mean tbh, even today, his warslides are some of the most flawless and well made in any mapping video. And that scene with the warslides happening whilst Graxum was taunting Ardumus is possibly the most flawless scene ever made in mapping where dialogue is occurring during warslides. Even four years later. Eradiate invested more than people realised into this series and the warslides are proof.
The only other series that I'd say shook this genre of mapping (Grimdark/Edge) to the same level as Eradiate's is Frkon's Gauche, which is also one of if not the best mapping series ever created.
I finally understand why this series is so good!

You know what? I don't think it's true. I don't think Graxum is just a general who became immortal, and used his immortality to attempt to become emperor of all that exists, traveling back in time, again and again.

I think it's something much more… humbling.
Think about it. Whenever he loses, he is sent back to a single, fixed date. That means that each time he fails, he just goes back, doing it over, and over. He's OBSESSED with the idea of victory.
But he keeps going back to a single date. He keeps doing the same thing, spending millennia attempting to achieve this. But, in all actuality… it's all a game. He said he was the player. That it wasn't fair…
Graxum is playing a grand strategy game, simple. He's playing an incredibly advanced grand strategy game, starting on a long ago date. For us, it's the future, but for him, it's the equivalent of the start date of Victoria 2.
He's a simple man, who became obsessed with winning at a game that doesn't even qualify as a proper victory.
8,127 times, Graxum tried to conquer the world.
8,127 times, the poor nation failed.
But on its 8,128th attempt, things would be different...

He's lost his humanity,his friends,his feelings,empty in the inside and stuck in the shell of one thing,hungry for power.
umm...no as you saw ww4 started at least at the 2451st try and graxum said to ardumus, "you always say that," when ardumus tells graxum he's goint to tell britain about the time machine, meaning he won world war 4 countless other times, so hes probably past that now and maybe even more world wars
I talked to Eradiate about this, and he said it exactly as the quote says it. There was no reason for him to choose attempt 8128. He did it because it was "just the right number." He also added in that he felt that it was better if it was just a random attempt rather than when Graxum comes across something new.

I was just re watching your episodes again, and I saw at 13:24, Graxum said "You say that very time".
I can't believe I haven't noticed that before. _That_ there is some storytelling that _nobody_ in this community could top. It's so chilling and makes you think about just how many times Graxum has gone through this. You continue to astound me long after I watch your videos.

6 years later, and yet this still holds its title, one, if not the, most ambitious and creative series for its time, which single-handedly changed the course of mapping forever. All the basics, every element of a good mapping video, all were started by this very specific one, if I were to put a parallel with cinematography, Eradiate’s would be our Georges Meliès, or maybe our Stanley Kubrick. The chances he ever sees this com are low, but he still deserve to have his work treated as it should, congrats man !

This series is so addictive. I can't like go a day without watching a video, you are super talented artist and creative
writer! Your main characters amazing because of the relationships between the characters, the in depth story and the climaxes of both series was breath-taking! The cure for death was an interesting plot device that played in with the power theme that you going for. Now the time machine was a little cliche, but you worked it like a b**ch and made it so unique in its own way. You are obviously very talented and you deserve to be rated one of thee best mappers. This series was so amazing that I have rated both the series 8/10 series one and 9.38/10 in the second series. You are so far my favorite mapper by rating. Congratulation!

He has said on the mapping Google+ that he has lost interest in mapping but might come back someday.
To me, mapping should be like stories you see in books or movies. Characters should have personalities, relationships, and goals like regular characters. It probably started out as people interested in maps seeing what they can do with them in more lifelike scenarios, but Eradiate seems to have changed the community almost singlehandedly by making it more about a storyline shown on a map. It's not just for the fun of drawing colors and different borders on a map anymore. It's the fun and challenge of making a complete story with depth and meaning that can move someone. Trying to see who can write a more interesting and unique story. And with making the best story comes with how your viewer feels while hearing your story. This means there can be no grammar mistakes (like in a real book), clean but still realistic borders, accurate labeling and coloring, appropriate music, and smooth animations. If any of these are screwed up, the seriousness is lost and your story, though it might be a near masterpiece, won't be taken as seriously because you don't get that feeling that the creator is perfect while watching it. Like many things, you really need to get into others' minds. Think about how they'll interpret what they see. What they'll be thinking about during and between episodes. Make them feel how characters feel, or feel sad, happy, or mad at characters. It's a huge mental game, and you, the creator, need to go about it in a way that everyone who watches your series gets all sorts of thoughts floating around in their head. The human brain is truly amazing, and when it's given enough time to think, it can come up with incredible ideas. If a series like this one is moving enough, people like me will think about it even when they're not at home. They'll think about what they read, saw, and heard in your mapping video that made them love it, remember it, and think about it when you're not even watching it. One thing that lasts with me is the music at the end of episode 6, while France and Austro-Germania are talking about how they feel that a war is approaching. Sometimes, if I think about this moment, I'm nearly brought to tears because these countries are afraid, and you can feel it in the beautiful and meaningful music, their words, the dark atmosphere. It left a lasting impression that has remained with me for the many months since I first saw the video.
And that's the meaning of mapping.
What happens if the time machine shuts down, and breaks completely. Graxum would be trapped, nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, nowhere to go for help.

So all of the attempts Graxum tried to conquer was him going back in time to fix it so that he would win. Just because of a general that had a cure for death, which was why he lived for so long.
I feel sorry for graxum now even though I hate graxum. He truly has lost the game, he won but at what cost? That cost was everything.

Woah, you have a nice eye for details! The little different things in the earlier attempts were intentional (obviously), but the whole 8 + 1 + 2 + 8 thing was not intentional. Cool coincidence, nonetheless c: About writing a book, my writing isn't all that good, but I'll see if I can write some short stories someday.

I only want to say that you improved mapping to a whole new level. I mean, you gave the countries something unique, a character. Graxum isn't the random evil guy who only wants to conquer everything just to expand. Graxum has a (verryyy broken) personality. Same with Ardumus, UK, France, Italy, Austro-Germania/North Germany, Eurasia/(Greater) Russia etc.
Please try to write some short stories, you can do that :)
