Wow, that came out really well! Nice!! I appreciate the fact you explained this process in a clear & concise manner…no mind-numbing fluff and filler. Thanks!! 🙏
That means a lot to me. I am about to begin making videos again and I'm back here re-reading comments and yours made me smile. Made me remember why I love creating content 💜 this past year and a half has been a roller coaster and I'm excited to get back to it!
Thanks! This was very helpful and I tried the first time today. Obviously a learning process. I had a lot of paint stuck to the sides on the top after I finished. How do I clean that or avoid that all together?
Before pulling your cup out of the water make sure you break the paint away from the surface. That is very important otherwise you essentially re dip your cup when pulling it out of the water and that's when you will see clumps of paint and it won't look right. I hope that makes sense. Water temperature is so important as well. Like you said, it's a learning process and the more you do it the more you will get the feel for the best water temperature. Unfortunately I wouldn't try to clean that up, I would just take acetone and clean the entire cup and try again. The good thing about this technique is that you don't use that much paint especially when using the marabou inks, so it's not too heart shattering when you dont get it right 😜
@@EmilyMineDesigns Thanks for responding so quickly and thoroughly! I realize I didn't write my question correctly. I meant cleaning the top sides of the bucket where the paint accumulated.
❤️❤️❤️your video and I refer back to it a lot. I had some questions about other possible sealers. Could you use triple thick or liquitex gloss varnishes?? Confused by the oil vs water based. On the liquitex, one answer to a question said you can't use it on oil and it's only meant for acrylic paints.
Awesome colors. Suggestion of showing us cat tails on a bottle so we can have that ,What it's not supposed to look like kinda deal lol if that makes any sense . :)
Yesss! This is definitely hands down my favorite method to do! So easy and so many combinations! You can also dip over glitter if you seal the glitter first with epoxy. So many choices! Thanks for watching 💜
I only use stainless steel tumblers. You don’t have to paint it before dipping if that’s the look you’re going for. I always base paint mine because personally I don’t like the look of the stainless showing through. If you aren’t going to paint it I do recommend that you still sand it very well as wash it off before dipping 🙂
Yes, I always recommend priming your cup first, no matter what it is you are doing. I also have a video on how to properly prep your cup if you would like to check that out. You can follow those steps before making any tumbler. Thanks for watching! 😊
Hey Cheryl! Unfortunately you can only use spray paint or the Marabu paints that I used. Maybe one day I will do an experiment with other types of paint. Thanks for watching!
Hmmm. I have used spray paint before and still do if there’s a color I need that Marabu doesn’t have but I’ve never experienced runs. If you want you can message me on my business page and send me pictures of what you mean and I will try my best to help you out 🙂
The epoxy seals your design in and ensures that your tumbler will last for years to come. There is an epoxy alternative that I am looking into trying, it's called Crystalac. I don't have much information on it yet though. Karen Basket has a TH-cam channel with a lot of information on the product if you are interested!
Hey Jennifer! Fish eyes are basically just spots that the epoxy repels from on your tumbler. Sometimes you will see the epoxy pulling away from certain areas while applying the epoxy and other times you won’t see them until you go to take your tumbler off the turner after curing. They look like little craters on your cup and depending on the size they can be troublesome to fill in. They are caused by oils on your cup from your hands or from the epoxy not reacting well with whatever is on your cup, such as using the Marabu inks because they are oil based. I hope this helps you! Thanks for watching!
Thank you! I only ever seal my decals if I am using a specialty vinyl such as holographic or glitter vinyl because they have a tendency to lift under epoxy. Other than that I do not seal. But you can seal any decal just to be safe!

Beautiful. I’m new to tumblers. I have spray paint that I can use. Can you give me a list of materials please? I want to try it
Can we use decor varnish to seal the paint on bottle

Do you think water temperature is important? as it cools down I'm wondering if i should heat the water some.
What temp should the water be... I tried one and was a disaster...any tips would be great
Beautiful very beautiful fantastic like 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 and Love 💗💗💗 from CHILE ♥️♥️♥️
Hello from the US! Thank you! ❤️❤️
how many cups per bottle of paint?
I BOUGHT THE PASTE ACRYLIC PAINT WHICH YOU USE BY POURING IT IN POTS , CAN I USE IT IN HYDRO DIPPING ? THANKS

Can you use alcohol ink
Which type of colours do you use?
Or can list me the types of colours to use

Any other suggestions for the sealer? I cannot seem to find this online.. sold out at TheGlitterGuy
So sorry about the delay in my response! You can certainly use Mod Podge to seal it! Or even a clear spray paint. Polycrylic works too! 😊
What type of tumbler? Will stainless steel work or do I gotta paint

I know this might be a stupid question, but how do you get the water to not go INTO the tumblers?
Umm you don’t 😂😂 just dry it out afterwards.
Would think a painters tape around the edge to seal it with the cup holder should do the trick
Can you use any paints? Besides spray
Hey Cheryl! Unfortunately you can only use spray paint or the Marabu paints that I used. Maybe one day I will do an experiment with other types of paint. Thanks for watching!
If you get runs in the pain, how do you fix it or can you?
I haven’t ever gotten runs in my hydrodips. Are you using spray paint or the Marabu paints that I used?
@@EmilyMineDesigns spray paint. I’m a beginner, just did 1.

Can you use regular acrylic paint to do this?
Unfortunately regular acrylic paint will not work.
What kind of paint do you use?
She is using marbling paints or you can use spray paint!!
@@daniellebennett9109 thanks so much for the info
@@ronelhuman1758 your welcome sweetheart
What kind of paints are you using? If you don't mind
Hi! I use Marabu Easy Marble paints. A lot of glitter shops carry them. I get them from either Mr. Fancy Pants or The Glitter Guy 🙂
Can you use say Rustolium Enamle spray paint, for a "tougher" paint??
I’m sure that would work since it’s spray paint! Let me know how it goes if you try it. Thanks for watching!

What do you mean by “fish eyes”? Is this something unique to tumblers? Thanks for the video.

How-do-you-do this on a ceramic mug or cupcoaster did you have to bake it at all to make it dishwasher safe?
Big air bubbles. Like have you ever seen people use a butane torch? It helps get the air bubbles out.
Hi, do you need to seal again after the decals or can you go straight to epoxy after the decals? Great video btw
Thank you! I only ever seal my decals if I am using a specialty vinyl such as holographic or glitter vinyl because they have a tendency to lift under epoxy. Other than that I do not seal. But you can seal any decal just to be safe!
