One GBA game that I never see people mention is Astro Boy: Omega Factor which is a shame because it's a super solid 2D beat em up/platformer with a pretty good story behind it. It also uses a bunch of Tezuka's other characters and has a gallery explaining who they are and where they're all from, which is neat.

I do recommend Shadowgate Classic, for the Game Boy Color. Though technically an enhanced port of the original NES version, the ability to save at any time and take it on the go is a huge bonus. The game itself is a point and click adventure played from a first person perspective, and is SUPER HARD. You will die a LOT. But it's all about trial and error, and learning and remembering. Even if you've never played Shadowgate (I hadn't), the visuals feel nostalgic, reminding you of first-person dungeon crawlers of old. All in all, it's an experience I'd recommend trying at least once. As always, keep up the fantastic content, and I look forward to your next video!

HELL YEAH, SACRED STONES! It's the first time I classed up a healer from 20 because I could grind out the healing.
I remember getting stuck in the first gba fire emblem because I didn't use the Lords much, so they weren't high enough level to kill the dragon. Real bummer getting to essentially the end and being unable to finish.

Aaaw yeah, Pokemon Crystal! Got mine right over there in my game boy color carry bag!
I missed a lot of game boy advance games, since I never had one. I only started buying them after I got my Nintendo DS.
But yeah, for color, I would recommend the The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages and for Advance any of the Castlevania games really.

My Crystal game died too I was soooo depressed lol Crystal was my favorite Pokemon game, until SoulSilver cuz that was awesome too! All my GameBoy games are pretty much Pokemon and Mario so I don't have anything to recommend XD that was all I really played as a child. I took a long break from Pokemon after Ruby and Sapphire came out, too. But I came back when SoulSilver and HeartGold came out. • @darko-hexar
    @darko-hexar 8 ปีที่แล้ว +11

Have you ever played a Megaman Battle Network game? It's a pretty fun and unique series, with several titles to play - 6 main games on Gameboy Advance, four of which are split like Pokemon games and have slight differences between the two versions. If I were to recommend any of them, it'd be Battle Network 3 or 5, really solid entries. There's also a compilation/remake of the two versions of 5, available on the DS. The series got followed up by the Starforce series, and it was fun, but I never felt like it had the same charm as the first six games.

I grew up with the GBA and an SP so i'm really invested in these, the games you haven't completed seem great for PB&T! I also loved sacred stones but i really focused on raising units so the plot of the games kinda didn't appeal as much. Btw Harry potter and the sorcerers stone for GBC (not gba) is a great RPG harry potter, a lot better and faster paced then any of the 3d games (which i've sadly played rip)
since you played the remakes emerald might not appeal as much but personally i found emerald to be extremely enjoyable, especially since it had post game content that was inanely hard. red/blue rescue teams are also amazing games, with some of my favorite pokemon stories
another game i played as a kid that i feel is underrated (or at least not as popular as its bretheren) is legend of zelda minish cap, which is a very fun zelda game, although not quite mainstream?
kingdom hearts chain of memories (original gba) is a surprisingly complex and interesting battle system, i'm not sure if you've mentioned playing the remake but even so the GBA version is a sight to behold. (although i personally never got past the second set of worlds)

Hi, ProZD! Sorry to hear about your save data. In Crystal, Gold, and Silver, the internal clock used to keep track of the game's time eventually drains the batteries dry, as it keeps ticking 24/7. As others have stated, you can replace the battery yourself if you want to!

Game & Watch Gallery 4 on GBA is a personal fave, vintage super simple super hard LCD addictiveness.
Game Boy Camera was great, it was my first digital camera AND the DJ minigame was my first taste of making synthesizer music. I realize now also the in-game art contains many references to Nintendo's history.

The GameBoy Advance along with Mario Kart: Super Circuit were my initial foray into the world of video games, so I have a lot of nostalgia for that game in particular. Besides that, I would absolutely recommend Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 for its interesting mechanics, adorable art style and genuinely fun levels and bosses, and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga as, while it's probably not as strong as some of the later entries in the series, is still an extremely enjoyable game throughout the story.

I don't get why people say gen 1 is unplayable. If you mean that they're archaic compared to the newer games that's totally true, but honestly they're still fun today. Red is still one of my favorite games ever, and I'd argue gen 1 aged better than gen 2, even though at the time it came out gen 2 was significantly better. I remember being blown away by the colors too, and when Crystal came out, being able to play as a girl was incredible. Though gen 5 is my favorite gen, since it actually has good plot and characters. The gen 1 remakes were horrendous though...awful music, the terrible gen 3 sprites, weird changes. Gen 2 and 3 remakes were solid. I enjoyed ORAS despite disliking ruby and sapphire, so there's that. Sucks about your battery though, that happened to me with my Gold version, which makes me sad because I had a shiny golbat and had transferred my Pokemon from Red thinking they'd be safer =_=
As for recommendations...Golden Sun is a must play. Pokemon puzzle challenge, Harvest Moon gb 2 and 3, rhythm tengoku, dragon warrior monsters 2, and pokemon tcg if you haven't played those. I'd also SERIOUSLY recommend playing Shining Force, but the GBA remake is kinda meh and I'd recommend playing the original (I believe it's on Steam). Shining Force is one of my all time favorite game series and is heavily influenced by Fire Emblem so if you haven't you really need to check those games out.

Mario Tennis for GBC was great, it had a really weird campaign mode where you played as a non Mario character in the Mario universe. Pokemon Trading Card Game for GBC was weird but great too. Then the big ones like LoZ: Link's Awakening, Wario Land 3 and 4, the first Mario vs Donkey Kong, Metroid 2, Metroid Fusion, sooo many. My 1st place recommendation is Golden Sun ofc. I've never liked handhelds as much since the GBA :(
edit: oh I forgot, every Kirby game there is from GB to GBA, minus the first one, that aged poorly imo.

One of my favorite "gameboy" games was Pokemon puzzle challenge. I don't know exactly why, I just thought it was fun.

Ur poked enough is not gone, All the data is there just no power to run it. You can easily replace the battery with a couple things so all is not lost.
