I was the demographic they were going for back In the 90s, and a girl and I still didn't get into them.. not because they sucked i just wasn't listening to English music at the time. I got into them recently since I saw a doc on their breakup, and I was intrigued and now consider myself a fan. I wish I would of been in the hype at the time but it wouldn't of mattered cause mom would of never let me see them live. However, the movie I also saw recently qnd it was meant to be campy, which ppl at the time didn't get, critics specifically even though it was supremely successful. I loved it. Favorite Spice Girl was Sporty Spice (Mel C)
Love the Spice Girls! I always was Baby Spice (Emma Bunton), she was/is my favorite Spice Girl but I also like Ginger Spice (Geri Halliwell) too. And this music video was for their movie Spice World (fun movie of them just having fun). But I just caught on today that they were in movie scenes, I'm not sure of what the movies were for the four girls (Victoria, Mel-C Mel-B and Geri) but Emma's part was Poltergeist and she was Carol Anne in her bedroom.

I definitely wanted to be Baby Spice (that's Emma Bunton, the blonde). They had nicknames: Melanie B (Scary Spice), Melanie C (Sporty Spice), Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) and Geri (Ginger Spice, hence her red hair). I'll let you try to figure out who the other ones are. 🙂

I was the demographic they were going for back In the 90s, and a girl and I still didn't get into them.. not because they sucked i just wasn't listening to English music at the time. I got into them recently since I saw a doc on their breakup, and I was intrigued and now consider myself a fan. I wish I would of been in the hype at the time but it wouldn't of mattered cause mom would of never let me see them live. However, the movie I also saw recently qnd it was meant to be campy, which ppl at the time didn't get, critics specifically even though it was supremely successful. I loved it. It was campy and hilarious and I'm gonna have to get the dvd

I didn't identify with any of them now that I think of it... I think I always had a crush on Mel B and Emma, but I was too young to realize it was a crush (I was a kid who was in an homophobic environment and still didn't realize I was bi - and I only accepted this fact when I was 15)
