Dreher Island State Park with tent sites included

This video is intended to compliment the South Carolina State Park’s website campground information. The information on their website about each campsite is useful in choosing a site, and the pictures are good, but sometimes misleading. I have found a ride through the sites on a bicycle to be helpful. We spent a weekend at Dreher Island in November 2021. I was able to ride through a lot of the sites on Sunday morning as everyone was packing up and leaving. The sites are mostly in order, so you can skip to the ones you are interested in. I hope this is useful.

I can't seem to find any map that shows the camper cabins by number. Looks like most of the tent spots are pretty close together at this campground?

If you go to the state park online reservation site and enter a date, you can then see the cabin numbers and a picture of the cabin. The tent sites are fairly close to each other in small groups.

My first response is always “anything on the water”, but my preference is the island loop and sites 47 - 63.

The cabins are nice. Heating and air conditioning. Small fridge and microwave. No running water inside. Access outside.
Porch. Bring a chair. Restrooms and showers not far, centrally located.
The only drawbacks I can see are a steep pitch down to most of the of cabins, and you can’t check in until 4pm. 👍

Yes. I am just way behind. And I really like the campgrounds in the upstate of SC! I have a couple that are farther from home, but still in SC that should be out out soon.
