I’m glad you liked the mag! I thought the fashion+architecture+90s vibe might be right up your alley. I didn’t check it out much before I sent it your way but dang I don’t remember it being so long! (Picked it up at the gayest estate sale I’ve ever been to. My other finds included a first edition “The Joy of Gay Sex” and one of thousands of chandelier crystals-which oddly enough I just found buried in my car this week too!)

I loved it! Up my alley but still different and interesting too.
My partner went to a big gay estate sale recently - he came away with some leather jackets, but there were a lot of other leather items there too… you can probably imagine. ⛓️

Delightful episode! I hope you're feeling less stressed, I know your videos always bring my stress level down. :) What's interesting about thinking about the context of these luxe interiors is that 1994 was like peak grunge era pretty much! Or maybe it was a little past the peak, but that was still very much central to/informing pop culture at the time. Meanwhile all these rich people are more or less oblivious to that and living in a separate world. Or that's what it feels like. Donna Karan's house (23:01) kinda highlights this contrast to me. It's so extremely 90s, the candles, the wrought iron, the white slipcovers, the sculptures, it's almost a maximallist, ultra rich version of grunge/bohemia, but it's still...out of touch? Anyways.. have a great week & thanks for another fun vid!

Interesting observations on grunge, I hadn't thought of that!

This video is very ASMRish to me (and I love ASMR) . The page turning sounded so crisp and the pages sounded like they were a good quality paper. And I loved the phoography - some lovely images.
    thanks 😀

Paper quality certainly does make a difference with those delicious page turns - and AD delivered.

I really need a life-size cardboard cutout of myself for my living room. Or is that too vain? Also having the Sherle Wagner ad beside Iittala ad gave me whiplash. And it is way more chic that you keep your cat brushes in the Alto vase - I keep my hair brushes in an old Waterford vase. It looks way too stuck up when I actually have flowers in it

Self portrait in life sized cardboard cut out? Never too vain.
PS: Glad to hear someone else is keeping their brushes somewhere fancy. The Alto vase is perfect for my brushes because it has all those wiggly sections to keep them upright.

Omg! Anna Sui did a Vogue apartment tour video a couple years ago. I don’t recall the life size Diana Vreeland being featured, perhaps she’s been banished to storage…

Oh dear... I hope she was put in storage and not thrown away. I can't imagine poor Diana swimming around in a landfill for all eternity. Like pets and children, custom mannequins are a commitment for life.

I’m so confused by those tennis bronze statues lol. Why do they exist? Why are they being advertised? Is it a destination that is being promoted or an artist showcasing their work to get more commissions for weird hyper realistic bronze statues?

That's a great question... not a very marketable product, yet not really an outdoor sculpture destination anyone would care to visit. 🎾
