Thanks for the shout out! Great list, I really like "Firefly" would have landed high on my list if I included the Lawton era. Never cared for "Fallen Angel"
Big fan of Uriah Heep, saw them for the first time in 1982 at the Monsters Of Rock festival UK, Great live band, watched em last year too, they've still got it. Here's my 70's rankings... 1. Salisbury 2. Demons And Wizards 3. Sweet Freedom 4. Very Eavy, Very Umble.. 5. The Magician's Birthday 6. Look At Yourself 7. Firefly 8. Wonderworld 9. Fallen Angel 10.Innocent Victim 11.Return To Fantasy 12.High And Mighty
Demons and Wizards, Look at yourself and Salisbury would be my top 3...have favorite songs from all of them though! Great ranking 👍 incredible band, cheers ☕
I own one album by Uriah Heep and it’s Demons & Wizards. I know a few songs by the band but I’m really not that familiar with them. Maybe I will pick up some more of their albums. 🤷♂️
Hi George!! well done and cool to hear your thought about a very underrated band imo.....i still need to get all of their stuff, but i like the band very much, i also think Stealin' is of their best songs. cheers and be well
My favourite UH album is Look at Yourself. Demons & Wizards, Salisbury, Magicians Birthday and Sweet Freedom complete my top 5 from the 1970s. I like the CD editions you have of LAY and the debut as well, I have not seen those.
For me ↓↓↓ I've always loved Lawton from Lucifer's Friend. I have a "Best 69" playlist for in the vehicle, and that only goes to the early 80's albums. 1- Demons & Wizards 2- Sweet Freedom 3- Wonderworld 4- Innocent Victim 5- Fallen Angel 6- Look At Yourself 7- The Magician's Birthday 8- Salisbury 9- Very 'eavy, very 'umble 10- Firefly 11- Return To Fantasy 12- High & Mighty 13- 10 Miles High Sessions (unfinished, but better versions of a couple songs from Conquest)
@@georgegsroomofrock9868 I mean, if I'm honest, there isn't a lot of room between #1 and #12. UH is a great band that didn't get the love in the US they deserved.
Great stuff George, very eloquently presented. You've caused me a dilemma to be honest ..... saw the band 2 or 3 times in the early 1970s and loved their early stuff to bits. When Wonderworld was released it really knocked me cold and to be honest, turned me off the band forever .... David Byron being an idiot and eventually being sacked didn't help. Now my friend, you've got me feeling the need to visit their later stuff on your list.
I've not come across anyone ranking UH albums before. Top job: My top UH albums (been a fan since 1972 and still listen to tracks every week, or suddenly start singing a favourite track): 1. Demons and Wizards. 2. Magician's Birthday. 3. Salisbury (Mick Box's solo is marvellous). 4. Look at Yourself. 5. Very 'eavy, Very 'umble. After my top 5 I don't really have an order, most are pretty good. I have always considered Mick Box to have been criminally underated.
Mam wszystkie lp( winyl, first press), oprócz rzeczy oczywistych lubię Wonderworld i Conquest, nie przepadam za Lawton Era,najsłabszy to Equator, Chaos & Colour świetny!
@@georgegsroomofrock9868 I totally recommend anything starting with Sea of Light from 1995 and onwards. Raging Silence and Different World suffer from dated production and songwriting imho. The other Goalby album Equator from 1985 is very underrated don’t take the mostly bad reviews to heart. Theres a couple silly tracks but the rest rocks. So I’m at Conquest from 1980. If you like the Lawton years then I’m pretty sure you’ll have no trouble w/ that one. It is a huge discography for sure to undertake. But hopefully my mini reviews help out as sort of a guideline. As it is most of the 1995 and onwards albums generally get great reviews. 🤘
