The whole plot just proved that bullying will end you badly. Whether you're the bully or being bullied; also, I like Yagami's speech on how the justice system failed a lot of victims, not only to victims of bullying, but in general. Annnddd, Hagashi ain't wrong about Kuwana keep on switchin' sides. Dude be like the Axis power to the allies.
This is just a theory on my part, but I think there is some ludonarrative dissonance at play with Yagami’s fights against the delinquent kids. I say this for a few reasons: First is that, when we arrive in Yokohama, they are our introductory fight and first experience with the Snake form, a fighting style centered around disarms and deflections. Secondly, the delinquent enemy types attack very slowly, with an easily telegraphed attack animation, and also frighten easily, making them very susceptible to deflections and non-violent EX finishers. What’s more, players are also rewarded additional SP for deflections and are given a pretty substantial amount of SP for finishing an encounter with non-combative EX finishers. In the same way that Kiryu “doesn’t kill” yet has EX actions where he can shoot, stab, and throw enemies out of skyscraper windows, Yagami “doesn’t punch/kick” the delinquent kids. I think the canonical resolution so those fights is that they attack Yagami and he deflects and parries them into submission but without bashing their faces in. RGG realized, however, that preventing players who wanted to punch/kick these enemies as they would normally would leave those players annoyed and frustrated that a hand was being artificially tied behind their backs, thus they chose the lesser of two evils and gave players the opportunity to deal with them like any other encounter. Ideally it would have been programmed to alter Yagami’s animations to something far less damaging when the game flags the encounter against the “Delinquent” enemy type, but drastically changing animations for a very specific encounter was probably a hard sell for a studio that doesn’t exactly operate with a blank check. That’s just my theory anyway.
This is a part of the Yakuza series, where you can stab someone in the stomach and the game still treats it like beaten badly. Ludonarratic Dissonance is a part of this series.
It will be a ton of money to hospitalize a person for 13 years but it will not even be 10% of what it would cost in the US. Healthcare around the world is mostly affordable. US Healthcare system is truly fucked.
Didn’t play Judgement only played Lost Judgement and man I fell in love with this game far more than any other yakuza game. This game is what I wish Shenmue could have been . Seriously amazing work on this masterclass of a game and I just wish Sega would have gotten this studio to do the rest of the shenmue games but I know that wouldn’t happen.
I enjoyed this one even more than the first game. I like how a lot of us can relate to the characters. For instance, some of us might feel like Kaito or Ehara, where we want to punch the hell out of the bullies. Others might feel more like Yagami, where you empathize with both parties. I think the majority of us, however, could relate to both. Personally, I felt sorry for Mikoshiba when they showed his murder. Despite his bullying, I was still disturbed and almost angry at Ehara. At the same time, though, I could understand Ehara's anger. This made me feel like I could relate to Yagami more.
Really enjoyed these plot summaries. They 100% deserve more views. Also, would love to see you cover the RGG Fist of the North Star game or maybe the Uncharted series.
Even though I played the game, I still had to watch this video 3x to get it. They really went all out with the complexity. It had some interesting twists that made me just sit with my mouth and eyes wide open. Good game.
@@kylehunter2674 right now im working my way through persona 5 royal. Great game but a long one. Once that's done, you're right. I'm dropping everything to play Like a Dragon Ishin.
I came here to say- I've just completed this game. Which means I've completed all Yakuza and Judgment games (apart from non localised spin offs and Kaito DLC) this journey of mine began with Yakuza 0 in 2020. It's taken some time but finally! Next up is Ishin in February I've also watched every single video you've made on the story (after completing every game)
1. That's a great accomplishment. Really hope you enjoyed the series so far as much as I have. 2. Thank you so much for the support! Can't wait for Ishin.
I went on the same journey in 2020 and man did I ever love the stories they tell. I think that lost judgement might be my favorite after not really enjoying the story of judgment I wasn't sure about LJ but man was I absolutely blown away and the rest of the series is just amazing can't wait for inshi
Amazing video! Keep up the great content, what do you think the third installment (if they ever get around to it) of the judgement games will have story wise? Will it wrap up what happens to Kuwana? Or will the story go into tying up all the loose ends so far like all the corruption In the games political system?
Knowing RGG, if they do another i think it'll be something completely unrelated but have small connections and easter eggs for fans who know. Then probably about 2/3 of the way through, they'll drop a massive bomb on us with kuwana or one of the main characters die or something rediculous like RGG loves to do.
I swear, it's always a month later until Yagami decides to lawyer up again in a court room lol. Man Iove your reviews! You definitely deserve more views. Will watch your other reviews for the Yakuza franchise before Like a Dragon Gaiden and Yakuza 8 comes out!
I wanted to focus on the mainline games for now. I might jump on DLC's soon though because I have other's asking for the majima missions too from the Yakuza games.

Kuwana really be cosplaying as Italy.
Lost Judgment’s plot is way less confusing than Judgment’s.

US Healthcare system is truly fucked.
Can not argue with that. As someone who lives in the states myself, the whole system is corrupt and money hungry. Sad really.
If I ever need a lawyer, I want them to be someone who has hands like Yagami and punch the justice out of everyone

Thats a good point. Shenmue would have been so much better if they made it in this image.
This was a great explaination! Thank you, your humor made it enjoyable to watch

True. This game did a great job at spuring all the emotions and conveying each characters justifications for their actions/feelings.

Good game.
Once you able to follow it (I'm sure my incoherent nonsense didn't help lol), it really is an amazing story.
Brought to you by Steve Blum about how many times Kuwana has changed sides, but the story manages to go between bad from good in the end.
I literally beat Lost Judgement and ran directly over here to watch this lol. Such a solid game 💯
Ayyy, that's love, thank you! It is such a good game. If you loved it as much as I did, I definitely recommend the Kaito Files DLC too.

@LaMuerteBlanca hundreds of hours and many tears. especially for a character in yakuza 3. I've never cried so much at a video game
