Love your videos. She is even better live. Imagine standing 10 feet away from her. That was last summer in Norway. He stage presence was frightening. She could see people waving and wave back. people with phones taking a picture, she would smile. I stopped waving because she kept waving back. When she was getting so emotional at being back in Norway she had tears running down her face. Half the audience were choked. Did you see her Mum at Norway's got talent. She was walking around the concert before the show, chatting to people. I was eating pizza and had an AJ tee shirt on and Sara sat down and chatted. Imagine any other singing star whose mother would do that. Last year before the concert in Portsmouth Sara spent ages outside chatting to AJ's fans. Got to talk to her again. Concert was sold out - her Mum was crying and couldn't believe what was happening.

I noticed her cry tones you’re talking about early on. It’s one of her most endearing techniques IMO. When you realize that Angelina sings heartfelt ballads from a 'Jazz' perspective, and Adele does it in her 'Pop' style, it shouldn't be that hard to understand that Angelina will always bring more emotion laden penetration to the song. She has mastered all the facets of Billie Holiday's way of singing, and especially those 'breathy', 'whisper-like' responses that just mesmerize anyone listening.
I had never heard this song until Angelina did this version. That first time, and EVERY time after that I listen to it, it coaxes tears from my eyes. After the second or third time of hearing her sing it, I thought I should at least give the original a listen. I believe I made it about 30 seconds in and turned it off. It just seemed so... bland. I had never listened to Adele before, and I have learned that she is a great songwriter and she has a nice voice, but as with "Easy On Me", Angelina just gives the song more feeling and emotion, as she does all songs.
It WAS NOT her first, probably her last. The studio technician was referring to her first TAKE of that song. Her teeth reveal and age of 7-8. There are about 5 other recordings from that school studio that were done earlier. That said, she does a really remarkable job!

Once she turned 7 she was finally old enough to audition for NGT (the state of her willy-nilly adult teeth seems to be the same). Sitting down on the edge of the stage and still performing this 😲 Well we also has seen her sitting in a lotus like position, singing Whitney, "I Have Nothing", - and not to forget her "Yesterday" performance in a shopping cart 😄 👣One of the things I think is great by these Adele-covers from Angelina, she really get to show her dynamic abilities and understandings. Hi Red! This song was written by Adele and Bruno Mars. We know Adele has a great voice and is a wonderful songwriter but when Angelina takes over any of her songs, she makes them outstanding. The emotion she transmits to the listener is off the charts. You just have to compare Adele's versions with Angelina's and you'll instantly see what I'm saying ;)
I watch reactions to Angelina and it never ceases to amaze me at the comments made. It’s as if they don’t know anything about her . I think people should do research before commenting on a singer who has been around as long as Angelina but is still so young. Starting with her at least at age 6 and moving forward as she ages. I was there during the countdown when Angelina released this song on to Utube. I’ll never forget that experience. I believe this is the most powerfully dynamic vocal from Angelina thus far. Here in NZ we have the Dunedin Study (look it up) following 1037 babies for 50 years since birth. With Angelina we have the unique experience of watching the progress of a singer from 1.5 years until the present. This is amazing & a big part of the reason we love her so much.

Great reaction Red! The pianist is Rob Christie, Director of Republic Records Studios in LA. He is a 2-time Grammy winning music producer, who is also a great pianist & guitarist. He has backed her in several of her videos & he knows that for Angelina, less is better. He lets her voice be the orchestra while providing a simple melody for her to color & adorn. Rob is a real "Angel," in a "live video" while on vacation with his family around Christmas, he was talking about Angelina & he made a comment that some think he is obsessed with her. Most "Angels" have probably been told the same thing by friends & family, I know I have. I've never experienced anything like it before.

I've been really enjoying your reactions to Angelina. I think you would enjoy some of the covers she did with Ivan Mendez back when she was 12. They got together right after she moved to LA. Ivan really compliments her so well on the guitar... After work, he would drive down to her Grandma's house in Orange County. They would check out songs on TH-cam until they found something they liked. She would download the lyrics to her IPad while he practiced a few chords. It was "follow my lead" and then it was simply magic... Ivan only knew Angelina a month or two at the time. And, he expresses all the emotion you feel while he's playing. Imagine sitting next to her while she's singing these great covers... I would recommend you react to her cover of Adele's "A Million Years Ago" and her cover of Rihanna's "Stay". She does it in every performance, but for me this song amplifies this ability she has. That she changed the emphasis of the phrase "It matters how this ends, 'Cause what if I never love again?' to "It matters how this ends, 'Cause what if I NEVER love again?". The emphasis and elongation of the word never totally sums up the import of the song.

During her 2021 Christmas special the top musicians talked with her. The drummer who used to play for Sinatra and other great singers said that she, like Sinatra, is a great storyteller. Angelina thanked him saying that meant a lot to her, especially coming from him. Four of the five songs from that concert are now on her holiday album, Driving Home For Christmas. Since you want to know a little more about Angelina, here is some backstory as I understand it: Angie's grandmother, Meri Zamani, an Iranian artist and poet, moved to Japan to teach, and married a Japanese man there. Angie's Mother, Sarah, and Uncle, Michael (who is also her manager and bodyguard) grew up in Japan, for about 13 years before the family moved to Norway. Sarah was probably married to a man named Astar when Angie was born, since her full name is Angelina Jordan Astar. She was born in Oslo, Norway so is Norwegian. Michael, her Uncle and a musician, changed his stage name to Astar. Angelina's sister, Juliette, has a father who is Swedish and is named Slattmann. So, our wondrous and amazing Angelina is of Persian, Japanese and European ancestry and it works well. Her Mom and Uncle sometimes speak with each other in Japanese and, with Angie's keen ear, I am sure she has picked up some of that. She has performed in Japan, and sang a song in Japanese which the audience said was of perfect accent. When she was about 6 years old, and living in Iran, she spoke with a young girl on the street in the language, Farsi, which is spoken in Iran. So, English is her third language (although many of her progressive school's classes were in English). Angie lost her paternal and maternal grandfathers within a year. She sang a moving cover for one, and wrote the song "A Million Miles," for the other.

I had never heard this song until Angelina did this version. That first time, and EVERY time after that I listen to it, it coaxes tears from my eyes. After the second or third time of hearing her sing it, I thought I should at least give the original a listen. I believe I made it about 30 seconds in and turned it off. It just seemed so... bland. I had never listened to Adele before, and I have learned that she is a great songwriter and she has a nice voice, but as with "Easy On Me", Angelina just gives the song more feeling and emotion, as she does all songs.

It WAS NOT her first, probably her last. The studio technician was referring to her first TAKE of that song. Her teeth reveal and age of 7-8. There are about 5 other recordings from that school studio that were done earlier. That said, she does a really remarkable job!
@@js33412 indeed there were several before that; on YT, there are Skyfall, Hurt and Rolling in the Deep... also the man most refer to as a studio technician is I suspect one of her teachers. She probably was 7 (perhaps 6 for Skyfall) for those recordings but, despite the strong claims of the teeth experts, I don't think 8 - in videos where we know she was 8 she looks significantly older

Once she turned 7 she was finally old enough to audition for NGT (the state of her willy-nilly adult teeth seems to be the same). The "technician" in the musicsSchool studio facility is just one of her teachers at her Oslo music school.

Hi Red! This song was written by Adele and Bruno Mars. We know Adele has a great voice and is a wonderful songwriter but when Angelina takes over any of her songs, she makes them outstanding. The emotion she transmits to the listener is off the charts.
You just have to compare Adele's versions with Angelina's and you'll instantly see what I'm saying ;)
I watch reactions to Angelina and it never ceases to amaze me at the comments made. It’s as if they don’t know anything about her . I think people should do research before commenting on a singer who has been around as long as Angelina but is still so young. Starting with her at least at age 6 and moving forward as she ages. Then you will see her in a new light. Once you have done the research, then your comments and opinions should come together with her unique voice and talents !!!

I believe this is the most powerfully dynamic vocal from Angelina thus far. Far better than Adele’s or Bruno Mars’ versions. It really just can’t get any better IMHO.

Here in NZ we have the Dunedin Study (look it up) following 1037 babies for 50 years since birth. With Angelina we have the unique experience of watching the progress of a singer from 1.5 years until the present. This is amazing & a big part of the reason we love her so much.

Great reaction Red! The pianist is Rob Christie, Director of Republic Records Studios in LA. He is a 2-time Grammy winning music producer, who is also a great pianist & guitarist. He has backed her in several of her videos & he knows that for Angelina, less is better. He lets her voice be the orchestra while providing a simple melody for her to color & adorn. Rob is a real "Angel," in a "live video" while on vacation with his family around Christmas, he was talking about Angelina & he made a comment that some think he is obsessed with her. Most "Angels" have probably been told the same thing by friends & family, I know I have. I've never experienced anything like it before.

When she signed with Republic Records, they assigned her her own studio. Her first recording in that venue was "Million Miles", an original. This was her first cover from that studio, still 14 years old. Quite a step up from the rooms where she recorded with Egil and Ivan...plus now with a classically trained pianist. Watch for this studio (flat black walls, candle array lighting) in many of her studio recordings after this date.

I've been really enjoying your reactions to Angelina. I think you would enjoy some of the covers she did with Ivan Mendez back when she was 12. They got together right after she moved to LA. Ivan really compliments her so well on the guitar... After work, he would drive down to her Grandma's house in Orange County. They would check out songs on TH-cam until they found something they liked. She would download the lyrics to her IPad while he practiced a few chords. It was "follow my lead" and then it was simply magic... Ivan only knew Angelina a month or two at the time. And, he expresses all the emotion you feel while he's playing. Imagine sitting next to her while she's singing these great covers... I would recommend you react to her cover of Adele's "A Million Years Ago" and her cover of Rihanna's "Stay". Both are masterpieces of simplicity and emotion. They will really give you an appreciation of her journey to where she is today 👣👣💕

Angelina is a true musical genius in that she innately knows how a song must be sung to reveal all the emotions of the lyrics. She does it in every performance, but for me this song amplifies this ability she has. That she changed the emphasis of the phrase "It matters how this ends, 'Cause what if I never love again?' to "It matters how this ends, 'Cause what if I NEVER love again?". The emphasis and elongation of the word never totally sums up the import of the song.

You've become quite the Angelina connoisseur👍 And I have to give it to you; this is one of the most enjoyable and one of the best reactions I have seen to this performance, so a BIG kudos to you is in place! Red, you touched on a very important point about Angelina clearly enunciating each word that she sings. You notice that even more when she also slows down a song. Reactors discover what that song is all about for the first time. Case in point is Billie Jean, which she turns into slowed down jazz tune. And your point about how Angelina subtly emotes at the end of a word or line in a song is also interesting. She also does that with her soft breathiness. Great reaction!

And of course the obvious thing I meant to add is that what she does with her voice and the emotions she expresses in the lyrics all enhance her storytelling ability. During her 2021 Christmas special the top musicians talked with her. The drummer who used to play for Sinatra and other great singers said that she, like Sinatra, is a great storyteller. Angelina thanked him saying that meant a lot to her, especially coming from him. Four of the five songs from that concert are now on her holiday album, Driving Home For Christmas. The opening song, more recently recorded, is a jazzy cover of Chris Rea's Driving Home for Christmas. They're also worth listening and reacting to.

I read all the wonderful comments and do not want to repeat them. Since you want to know a little more about Angelina, here is some backstory as I understand it:
Angie's grandmother, Meri Zamani, an Iranian artist and poet, moved to Japan to teach, and married a Japanese man there. Angie's Mother, Sarah, and Uncle, Michael (who is also her manager and bodyguard) grew up in Japan, for about 13 years before the family moved to Norway. Sarah was probably married to a man named Astar when Angie was born, since her full name is Angelina Jordan Astar. She was born in Oslo, Norway so is Norwegian. Michael, her Uncle and a musician, changed his stage name to Astar. Angelina's sister, Juliette, has a father who is Swedish and is named Slattmann.
So, our wondrous and amazing Angelina is of Persian, Japanese and European ancestry and it works well. Her Mom and Uncle sometimes speak with each other in Japanese and, with Angie's keen ear, I am sure she has picked up some of that. She has performed in Japan, and sang a song in Japanese which the audience said was of perfect accent. When she was about 6 years old, and living in Iran, she spoke with a young girl on the street in the language, Farsi, which is spoken in Iran. So, English is her third language (although many of her progressive school's classes were in English).
Angie lost her paternal and maternal grandfathers within a year. She sang a moving cover for one, and wrote the song "A Million Miles," for the other.
