      Hello Teacher Macs. I found you here.😄 It was that I'm thinking how could I possibly answer all the questions from the panelist and now I realized that they really pick the best ALTs from the Philippines. I'm not pretty sure of my grammar sometimes that's why I sometimes doubted myself especially having these kinds of interview.
      Thanks Teacher Princess for giving me/us ideas.

    Great and informative video, Princess!
    I do have a question regarding the recommendation letters.
    Will the screening committee follow-up or contact your referees for any form of verification?
    I will be receiving my reference letters from my employers who are based outside of the Philippines and I just want to make sure if they will need to anticipate any calls or emails from JET so they won't miss it or get lost in spam.
    Thank you for this video!

    Hi Princess! This is very helpful thanks. I just found out today about the start of Jet Programme Application for 2021 and i immediately watched your vid to help me out with the process. I hope it’s not too late for me to prep :-). i am a science teacher now and i worked in dubai for 4 yrs which good thing i can use as an experience for cultural exchange. One question, i have a tattoo on my right arm, will that be a problem? Thanks!

    • @PrincessAmpol
      @PrincessAmpol  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know JETs who have tattoos. I think it won't be a problem but depending on how strict your contracting organization will be, they tell you to cover it up while working. Either way, it's best to cover it up during the JET interview.
      Also don't worry, it's not yet too late! I found out about JET around 1 month before the deadline and still made it. Just make sure you get your documents on time, especially now during the pandemic.

      @@PrincessAmpol another question, for the reference letter, they need original signed copy right? One of my references lives in Dubai, Indian Nationality, and I’m in the Phils now, should i ask him to courier it to me instead? Can a scanned copy be good? He used to be my boss when i was working in real estate? Is that fine or should the reference be related to education field? Thanks a ton!

    • @PrincessAmpol
      @PrincessAmpol  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SirRomeo If it's not asked, I think you don't need to say anything about it. It means you've covered it up well enough that it won't be a problem in the future. If they notice you have tattoos during the interview, then they'll probably ask if you're okay with covering it up. In summer, it can get pretty hot so you might wear short sleeves. If the tattoo peeks out, you might need to put some effort into hiding it.
      All the best in your application!

    Hi!! So glad I found your channel. Im also from a Korean University. Just wondering if you submitted your orignal docs from Korea? I only have one copy left of my original academic record. Do you know any workaround? Can I submit a notarized version instead? Thank you!

    • @PrincessAmpol
      @PrincessAmpol  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In my case, I had time to actually get the transcript and certificate of graduation from the school so I submitted the original documents. I'm not quite sure if a notarized copy will be accepted in place of the original. At least try to get a digital copy (so it'll turn out colored) issued by the school if possible. Last resort is to submit the notarized document attaching a letter of explanation. The embassy might ask you to resubmit an original if they don't accept it, but please don't take my word for it because I'm also just guessing. Go with the option that seems the best for you.

      Depending on the situation and the teacher, I do it differently. We were originally taught to correct them after class so as to not embarrass them in front of the children. However, some teachers are more chill and do not mind being corrected on the spot. You can also correct them by saying it properly during class instead of directly addressing them the correction.

    Good day Teacher! May I know how much money did you spend from the application process until you went to Japan? Will the program shoulder travel and accommodation expenses? I am having a problem with my finances so as early as now I want to save. How much budget should I prepare?

    • @PrincessAmpol
      @PrincessAmpol  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is actually a good question and I'll try to add this for my next video. It's something a lot of applicants should also take into consideration.
      To answer this now, we need to consider the cost of getting a passport (if you don't have one or need to renew), full body medical check up, POEA processing fee, OWWA membership, Pag-Ibig and Philhealth contribution. If you drive and want to drive in Japan, add also the cost of getting an International Driving Permit. This is all roughly around 15,000 to 30,000 PHP. There's also additional cost if you're not from within Metro Manila and need to travel from another region for the interview, orientation, and day of flight. Depending on how you want to prepare for your move, you may need to buy clothes, food, items, etc. You also need money for when you first arrive Japan because your salary might come a few weeks or a maximum of two months after. How much you need to bring will depend on your placement, this is a super "Every Situation is Different" (ESID) thing. JET usually says around $1,000 to $3,000 is the safest but I would say that's a bit steep in some cases, and can only be specifically answered after getting a placement.
      Your plane ticket to and from (when you finish the program) Japan is shouldered by the contracting organization (CO). Accommodation for the orientation in Tokyo is also shouldered by the CO most of the time. But for the apartment, you would have to pay for it. It again depends where you get placed if you will need to pay in full or get subsidy.
      I'll try to go more in-depth on my future video and share how much I spent on mine.

      If you haven't passed the interview yet, you don't need to submit the "Certificate of Health". This is required *after* getting shortlisted for the program. All you need to submit at the application stage is the "Self-Report of Medical Condition". This does not require a medical professional's examination. Just answer this according to your own knowledge of your health condition.
      Later on, if you pass and get shortlisted, you can get the "Certificate of Health" filled out by any practicing doctor in any hospital. As for getting a POEA OEC, that's when you need to get medically examined in POEA accredited hospitals.

    Hello po, greetings!
    I am quite confused on the "Certification of Graduation" is this the same with the Diploma duly given by the University upon graduation?

    • @PrincessAmpol
      @PrincessAmpol  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's different~ They do not require your actual diploma but only a document certifying that you graduated from your university. This can be issued from your school.

    a) Is the diploma really enough/accepted kahit hindi na po un mismong Certification of Graduation?

    • @PrincessAmpol
      @PrincessAmpol  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. After posting this video, I went back to recheck documents I submitted, and I actually chose to submit a Certificate of Graduation. In my mind, diploma might be accepted since it's a solid proof of graduation and attainment of degree. Please take note that you have to submit an original document as well. Since I didn't submit a diploma, I cannot completely guarantee acceptance of the document.
      For your second question, you can just write, "None" if you don't have any. It doesn't need to be all uppercase letters.

    So glad I found your channel po. Thank you so much for the tips. I have questions po. Hope you can answer. Regarding the references po. I’m currently working under an esl company. Is it okay po to ask a reference from them? Or is it insulting especially because I’m still probi. Or would it be better for references from my uni po? And is it okay if its from the guudance counselor. Thank you po

    • @PrincessAmpol
      @PrincessAmpol  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that depends on your relationship with your company. If they don't seem like the type that will support and respect your career choices, then maybe it's better to find other references. As much as possible, you would want someone who truly supports your application to the program. Someone from your university is fine too as long as they can provide a good statement on your performance and abilities.

      I didn't put my reference letters in an envelop with seal. I don't think they wrote specific instruction on how to submit the letter so I just sent it as it is.
      This way, you can add the original letter(s) with the original documents set, and the photocopied letters into the photocopy sets.

      I'd say that's still a form of cultural exchange experience. You can utilize this to bring across the idea that you're passionate about cultural exchange in whatever platform you have (in this case, you want to do it in the JET Programme). Your lack of experience in travelling can be used as a reason why you finally want to break out and be in the JET Programme.

    • @PrincessAmpol

      I think "To whom it may concern" is fine. One of my references wrote it that way. The other just wrote a header that says "Letter of Recommendation for Princess Ampol". The style and format is up to your reference's choice since there's no specified format.
      They didn't state the paper size but A4 is a safe bet since A4 is the standard paper size used in Japan.

      I kind of want to retract my statement in the video. I personally submitted a Certificate of Graduation, a document that can be issued by your university. I have no guarantee that the diploma will be accepted because I didn't submit a diploma. It *might* be accepted but please keep in mind that they request for an original document and they cannot return documents later. It's up to you if you're willing to submit your original diploma. I think this was the reason why I opted to get a Certificate of Graduation. Hope this helps clarify it~!
